Staff was friendly, attentive and engaged. Food was excellent. We felt very comfortable with the dine-in experience as it relates to the current social distancing guidelines.
The food was delicious. The service was special. I will go again

I’ve lived in New York for 4.5 years and while I tend to prefer non-chain restaurants, I’ve still frequented and enjoyed chain restaurants from time to time.
This was not an enjoyable experience. Forgettable food & slow and cold service. I’d rather go to Olive Garden.
Had reservations for 8. Walked in around 5 till and people were standing there that had reservations at 7:15. I do not make reservations to wait an hour on a table. Host was overwhelmed, people everywhere all with reservations. Waited for 30 minutes and there was still 4 people in front of me. Called seasons 52 on the busiest night of the year and explained what had happened and they told me to come in and got me straight to a table. Macaroni Grill is a joke and I will never go back!!!
We had a “reservation” for 730 pm. When we arrived there was one person, a kid who looked to be about 16 years old handling checking everyone in and seating people. He clearly did not know what he was doing and was overwhelmed. There were about 30 people in the lobby area waiting to be checked in when we arrived. There was no rhyme or reason on who was getting checked in. People would just walk to the front of the line get his attention. And get their name added to the list skipping all of us who were in line waiting. This was no fault of his and he should have never been left there alone on Valentine’s Day to handle rbis crowd. Not once did a manager come around to see what was happening. Finally we got checked in at almost 8 pm after arriving at 725. We stated looking around the restaurant and could see multiple open tables and no one was being seated at them because this poor kid could not keep up. My wife finally asked at 830 if we could take a table next to the entrance that had been open for almost a half hour and he said we could. Our waiter was fantastic. Very friendly and efficient. So we ordered an appetizer and our entrees. The waiter stated that they were out of steak. How the heck at 830 on Valentine’s Day are you out of steak? We also ordered an appetizer and after about 15 minutes the waiter came back and said they were out of that also. Overall a pretty bad experience. Very poorly managed in my opinion. We totally expected it to be busy and were prepared for that but having a reservation and then being added to a list of approximately 10 names and having to wait over an hour to be seated is unacceptable.
I used to be a customer in North carolina, and I always love the place and the food. I haven't been in while since I moved to Atlanta. I had reservation for Valentine's Day. Our reservation was at 7:15, when we get to the restaurant there were a lot of customers already waiting some with and some without reservation, they were all mixed. We ended in the list after many that didn't have reservation. We actually checked out to be included in the list at 7:45. The restaurant was packed, not clean, the employees were frustrated although they were trying to do their best. I worked in the industry and my expectation was to see a manager at least dealing with the customers. But they were not even visible. The food was fair, actually my main course was not even better than a microwave meal.
It was a special occasion for me that day and we didn't get neither the experience, the cleanliness, the service neither the quality and taste of food that we were expecting. Very disappointed.
This was probably the worst dining experience I have ever had.
The restaurant was disorganized and the service was terriblely slow.
We showed up for a 7:00 reservation and stood in a large line of people who were generally being ignored while the host ocassionally would log in people. After about 30 minutes we spoke to someone and were seated about 15 minutes later. Upon being seated it took about a half hour to place drink orders.
The entire ordeal took about 3 hours with large gaps between service.
I would strongly encourage people to avoid this restaurant.

We both ordered steak and potatoes, except my wife ordered fries instead of mashed potatoes . They brought both plates out with mashed potatoes and did not remember which plate had steak temperature as medium and medium well. Of course, they mixed them up and we figured it out after cutting the steaks. It took a while to bring the fries out so my wife’s steak got cold while she waited. We also ordered a side house salad and the lettuce was brown and wilted so we did not finish it. The ambiance was great, service was “okay”, not great, and the meal was good, but not fantastic. Probably won’t go back for a while.
We went especially for the special limited Valentines menu which offered an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert. We love their stuffed mushrooms, so was really looking forward to enjoying those since they were listed on the special valentine menu as one of the choices. We had a 6:00 reservation and was told they were OUT of the mushrooms!!! How can you be out of a special offer item that early in the evening?? Very dissappointed . . .
Service started off good but steadily decrease. We both ordered our meals and when they came my wife's was the wrong meal. The cooks had to start over and I ended up eating most of mine by myself waiting on hers. When it finally came out by a different waiter, they left quickly and my wife could not ever get grated cheese on her meal. When the bill came it had both my of wife's meals billed on it which we had to get corrected. The server seem that he really didn't care.
Was suppose to be a fun, romantic, valentines dinner. Instead it was very disappointing.
Lot of delay in service. Food was cold where served. I visited the previous day and ordered the same items and the quality was significantly low compared to Thursday. This was year end team lunch to thank them for their hard work and was pretty disappointed with our experience this time. Based on the experience with lunch we cancelled a subsequent lunch appointment from our office ( Priti Patel ).
It’s was our first time at Macaroni Grill in a while. Night started off fine but I was with my wife and a Baby and they put Us at a booth in the back of the bar area near the kitchen. Bar seating usually means bad service since they have the bartender do it. He was nice but definitely preoccupied- my wife didn’t even get her water refilled if that tells you anything.
Though the service wasn’t terrible, it was worse than I expected From a chain. The worst part was sitting by the kitchen and listening to them bang whatever they were banging essentially the entire time. It sounded like they were building a wall but it was obviously good related. It was jarring and definitely not enjoyable to listen to the entire time.
The food wasn’t terrible. Chain Italian. But not great. Much older crowd and not really much ambiance. Most of the nice restaurants at Avalon and nearby likely take all those diners looking for that. I wouldn’t mind going back if I wasn’t in the bar area near the kitchen. But wouldn’t have many expectations of this place.

Terrible New Year’s Eve at the restaurant although there was one person and his name is “John” one of the chefs... he did everything he could to recover. He was great and tried his best to make sure we were taken care of. Bottom line is the restaurant was slammed early that night. We got there around 8:00pm... by that time I think they were understaffed and could not recover... took a long time to get our food. We left there around 10:15... too long.
visited this place on Christmas eve 2019, we waited for almost 40 mins at reception and had to return back because there were many people waiting before us and there was no one at reception. We thought they may have been busy and may not have expected so many people. We decided to visit on new years eve 2019, and it spoiled our new years eve. We are two adults and 3 kids, we were seated promptly, we had reservation but no table was available for 5 people. We accepted 4 people table since we had 3 kids. We had to prompt waiter multiple times to take our order and he came after 25 mins to take our order. Even after waiting for 45 mins our water, or drink did not arrive, When we questioned one of the associate who appeared as manager, we were told that waiter is very busy, when in fact there were not many people in restaurant. When we asked waiter again waiter 55 mins of waiting, he told us that we can think whatever, but he is overworked and restaurant is understaffed. We kept asking that atleast serve us water, than chef got water for us from inside. We again called waiter after 65 mins of waiting asking when will our water drink or food will arrive, he told us that he still need to ring up that order. We again called another associate who appeared as manager, he told up he himself needs to talk to cooperate about this location, and he has no idea of whats going on. When we told we will walk out, he told us its fine, we can go. Thanks for keeping our kids hungry and thirsty for an hour, and ruining our new years eve. I have $100 gift card for this restaurant, I do not know what to do with this gift card.
I’m not one to leave a bad review but I feel as though I need to spare others from dining here. This place has gone way down hill. Poor customer service. Poor management. And just a bad experience overall. Had a reservation yet was told we’d have to wait for a table. Waited over 45 mins to get our dinners and the food was cold when it finally arrived. We used to frequent this location but we most definitely won’t be back.
Had a reservation for Xmas day and arrived to a sign saying “We’re Closed”. Called the restaurant and talked to people but no one came to door. Host ignored us completely so we ended up going to another restaurant completely. Very disappointing experience.
Poor people who had ordered to go orders couldn’t get their order either.
I sent the bad review to corporate, our experience was horrendous! Who delivers food to a table without silverware! We asked 4 servers and a manager no eating utensils! Finally, my husband went to the Togo area and got plastic utensils. Honestly the worse service, experience in your restaurant Macaroni Grill. Also as the night progress, we asked the waitress with the green flashing Christmas lightbulb earrings for a manager and she wouldn’t get one for us, and she smelled like an old cigarette ashtray. Hideous, hideous evening! On top of everything else, 2 of our items came out ice cold.
We had reservations for 5:45 on Christmas Day. The website said they'd be open until 10:00 pm and would have prime rib and beef filets on the menu as well as their regular fare. By 6:00pm they had locked their doors with a sign saying they were closed. The were running out of food - we had to order twice because even though we asked what they still had when we ordered the first time, that was all gone by the time our order got to the kitchen. They never had the rib roast or filets at all. We didn't get our food until 6:55. I had 5 oz of lamb and some mashed potatoes and it cost $27. Not a word of apology from management, no comped salad - nothing. The only bright spot was the waitress who was doing her best to not only take orders but bus tables; she was literally running through the restaurant trying to take care of people. Worst managed restaurant I've ever been in.
Very disappointing. Lobster bisque was thin with NO hint of lobster. Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo dense with very little chicken. Inedible mashed potatoes.
We had a very bad experience on XMAs eve . Booked a table of 5 in advance so that we have the best table in the restaurant but was given a table near to the restroom . When asked for a different table we were told no tables available . We compromised on the table but then starts the ordeal of service . No complimentary bread given with the initial drinks we had to ask 2 times before it landed on the table 1 hour later. Then the appetizer landed after 1:15 hrs and with no cutlery on the table which came another 10 minutes late . Next main course come after additional 1 hour only 3 items of 4 items ordered which awfully cold not eatable and the 4 item came 1/2 later . The service was so pathetic that the whole experience was very bad. I wasted USD 162 dollar on this restaurant it would have been better if I had chosen some other restaurant . I will never recommend anyone to this restaurant
They were ill prepared for Christmas Eve. The waitstaff kept complaining to us about how busy it was and how the kitchen didn't have enough people working in it. My husband and son got their food 20 minutes before I got mine. Our waiter barely came by our table during our 2 hours of waiting around for our food.

We were seated just u set the a/c and speaker . Had a reservation for small (4 ppl) mwntined bday for 15th years old. We’re not offered to change spot afte we complain that is too cold and also we mentioned they girl have a birthday other than offering us desert to purchase nothing else not even A happy bday wishes 😳
We looked around for a nice place for Christmas Day dinner. Hadn’t been to Macaroni grill in a while, but remember really liking the food. I know most places are working on a short crew on Christmas Day, so we went pre-loaded with patience and gratitude for the folks would choose to work a shift on a holiday.
Our servers were wonderful. It just took ages to get anything, even water and butter. Even when we asked a passing server and they said, “I’ll be right back with that,” it either didn’t happen or took fifteen minutes and two more requests from other passers by.
The food was outstanding, but it took forever to get our entrees. My mom’s entree took forever and ten minutes. And they never got around to our wine. (But they didn’t charge us for it either, so...)
We really enjoyed the food when it finally came and overall had a nice time. And we left a nice Christmas tip for our server anyway.

It was clear that this restaurant was under staffed on Christmas Day. There were many many tables around us that were not cleaned.
We had a reservation for 8pm on Christmas Eve. We arrived at 7:43. The hostess role us it would be a 45 minute wait. Isn’t the point of having a reservation so that you don’t have to wait 45 minutes? Ended up going to another restaurant down the street and had a much better experience even without a reservation.

This was one of the worst dining experiences that we ever had. We were celebrating a college graduation so we had a reservation for 11 people for 6:00. We were seated on time and the table was set but it was all downhill from there. It actually took 42 minutes to get water at the table. That was how the dinner started. The bread was like a jumbo crouton and the service was terrible. Two of the people were served their meals fifteen minutes after the rest of the table. They did not have enough servers since everything took way longer than it should have. We will not eat at this location again. What a disappointment! Fortunately we had dessert at our home and ended the evening on a positive note.
Made a reservation, got there and we were told it would still be a 15-60 minute wait. I'm not sure why they were taking reservations? We left and went to Ruth Chris where we had a great experience with professional service.

We ate here at lunchtime on thanksgiving, sovthey were serving a preselected menu. It was good, the staff was very friendly, and the restaurant Has a cozy feel.
The food was prepared well and had a lot of flavor. Service was slower than we’re used to even though the restaurant was not that crowded. They were out of the wine we wanted, so we had to settle for something else.
I have severe food allergies and I asked our waiter, Deonte, to speak with the kitchen manager. Courtney came to my table to discuss my allergies and came up with a plan that satisfied my concerns and had a delicious meal at the same time. This was on a busy Friday night, yet he did not rush our discussion. He personally gave the cook my order making sure it was understood, checked it, and then brought it out. Where can you find service like that? Deonte was just as attentive to making sure we all were taken care of. Thank you both! We’ll be back and recommend this MG to anyone with food sensitivities. They really care.
