Romano's Macaroni Grill - Frederick
Not going back. Host sat us at a booth in the bar. If I wanted to sit at the bar I wouldn’t have made a reservation. There were plenty of seats in the restaurant. I was on a date and my date was disappointed. The Server/ bartender did a good job.
My service rating was low simply because our server appeared to be new. She was unsure of the menu, the appetizer ordered never materialized, there was too little checking in for drink refills, etc. However, she was friendly, and could become more skilled if helped to do so.
Great restaurant, food and atmosphere. I haven't been back for while but will return again in the near future.
Kristy was a great waitress. Very helpful and friendly.
Everything was pretty great. It is a bit expensive.
Excellent service, including arranging for piece of birthday cake for impromptu celebration. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
We had a wonderful experience at Frederick’s macaroni grill. Great happy hour prices and our meals we just the right portion and delicious. We were seated in a booth around the bar, Shannon, our bartender/server was great. Certainly will be back
I reserved a table for a party of 20 for a work event. It took over 2 hours for our food. The waiter was never around, I had to chase him down several times. When one of my employees asked if she could order (90 minutes after we sat) he said "what is the hurry are you going somewhere? Once the food arrived, the food was cold, has incorrect sides etc. My Mahi was as dry as a shoe and the steak of my coworker was burnt. I actually thought this was a joke and a set up. For a big chain, you should shut this place down a total nightmare
The portion size was smaller than expected for the price. Food was good.
I would recommend Macaroni Grill for value and the lobster bisque but the service was terrible for our lunch time table for eight Drinks not refilled, waited for a long time for refills. Had to call the wait staff over to get drinks. No offer of parmesan. Only half the table offered pepper for olive oil. One person's from order not taken until it was pointed out to staff.
The server was very nice but rushed us. I think the Olive Garden is just as good and less money
We dined with friends the evening of Mother's Day. The place was packed when we arrived, but many left while we were there. Service was slow but excellent. We we served our bread, wine, salads. Our waiter was in constant communication. When my three companions mentioned they had to be home to see Game of Thrones, the waiter checked on the entrees and said they would not be ready in a timely manner. He suggested some small plates. We ordered soup to finish our meal and the check. Timing is everything. The last person got home 2 minutes before the show started!!
Though I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, I got violently ill after returning home, and was ill for about 24 hrs. after. I had ceasar salad and pasta milano, my favorite.
My husband and kids took me there during brunch to celebrate mother’s day, food was delicious and Zoe our server was great.
The manager is worst heart! He did not care about us and my children. I told him that we waited for one hour to get my meals. He said do you want to the food?! I said yes we want but we waited. He said ok then he walked away from me and avoid. I never come again. He did not care for my wife for special for mother's day!
The food was good and our waiter was very attentive. However, the noise level made conversations almost impossible. There are other Italian restaurants that are quieter and have food that's just as tasty, so I will probably opt for one of them next time.
Some of our food was cold. Waitress was excellent.
Roman’s Macaroni Grill was not our favorite some of the food was very plain and the chicken Parmesan that we had was burnt. I actually did not even eat the chicken. Our server was amazing though and our drinks tasted good. It is just not a place I would reccomend off of the taste of the food especially for the price you pay.
It would’ve been great if their brick oven wasn’t broken and it they didn’t drop my dish on its way to serve me, which cause it to arrive after everyone else had finished eating. The Penne Rústica has definitely changed since the last time I was there a few years ago...not as creamy. I also noted on the reservation that it was my son’s 15th birthday, but apparently the hostess or waiter didn’t notice. Waiter was very nice though, and due to all the issues they comped a few items. Despite all of the issues, it was still a good time.
The food takes a little long to come out so I recommend going with an appetizer! The plates a little overpriced in my opinion!
Food tastes fine, and service was okay, but portions are way too small. You should NOT have small pasta portions, it costs virtually nothing. You shouldn’t market yourself as a macaroni grill and then serve a very meager portion of pasta. Will not be coming back.
One entree came out undercooked 5 minutes after ordering, the other came out with way overcooked meatballs. The salads and soups came at least 10 minutes after receiving our entrees. I couldn't believe the portion sizes compared to the prices. $15.50 for what looked to me like less than a child's portion of mac and cheese? Not even any meats or seafood with it? Is absurd to me. Maggiano's is cheaper, and you get at least double the amount of food. As well as practically any other Italian place I've went to. $34 for a small plate of mac and cheese and a small portion of spaghetti with 3 average sized meatballs was just ridiculous. It's been a few years since I had visited this location, and I definitely won't be back. I left more tip than I wanted just to use up the last of my gift card so I didn't have to worry about having a credit there.
I will say the server was polite, he just didn't seem to know how to stay organized. (We asked for our check 10 minutes before the server's other table, and they had their check paid and were out the door before I even received my bill).
I was pleasantly surprised at our experience at Romano's Macaroni Grill. We had our annual valentines dinner with 14 total friends. This was our first time at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had our table ready early so that I could add favors at each place. The server was efficient and friendly. Our food was very good. I would recommend this to friends and come there again myself.
Very nice staff. Seated very quickly and was taken care of the entire time. Food was great
Worst time .service was very slow and the food came out cold. Not good
We had to wait for our food over 45 minutes, all while being ignored by our waiter. After finally asking for and getting the manager, we did get some compensation for the late food and poor service. We will not go back for a long time...if ever.
Wasn’t what it used to be, food has lost something over the years. Also, some inconsiderate employee walked by my wife carrying the remnants of a cleared table and splashed some kind of liquid on her and the table. No consideration was made and no apology was given.
It was our first time there. The food was okay-we waited over an hour for our food and it wasn’t even busy. I sent back my food because it didn’t taste good then to have to wait for over an hour was unacceptable. We will never go back there again and I will not recommend any one of friends to go there either.
My experience at macaroni grill was one not to remember. I went there for my sisters 31st birthday. It was not busy but they sat us all the way in the back on what looked like a six foot fold up table that had been planted in the ground to be like a normal table which was very uneven - mind you we were just a party of 6. Once we sat down I took immediate notice that the glasses that were for water? Which was never served to us was dirty and had a film over them. Their menu had a wide variety of food with reasonable prices however not for the amount that they give you. My sister wanted to order a simple miller lite that She was told after ordering that they were out of and gave her one more suggestion that they had that she didn’t want. After she ordered her soft Beverage which came back to her flat almost like seltzer water. Once we got over that we got our appetizers and noticed all of our forks still had dried food all over them. Once we received our dinner our food lacked warmth and they messed up my sisters order so she had to wait an additional 10 mins before she got hers. Last but certainly not least upon leaving our server mentioned since it was her birthday she would get a complimentary dessert which not to our surprised they were all out of their cheesecake - she ended up opting and leaving empty handed. While the experience was one that will make us not come back for a while or at all our server did a great given the circumstances he had to work with.
I made the reservations on line which was very easy to do. Once we arrived to the restaurant about 4 of the staff was standing up front chatting. We were seated a few minutes later the waitress came to take our drink order, we stated we knew what we wanted and was ready to place our food order as well. It took almost 15 min to get our drink order, then we had to wait for our bread. We again had a long wait for our pasta, she brought it but never brought our salad until we asked about it, she then brought a thick glaze instead of my salad dressing, and my friend had ordered angel hair but was given regular spaghetti instead. My friend asked to speak with the manager who came over listened to everything that had gone wrong, said I'm sorry only offered to make angel hair, this was after I was almost done and my friend stated no he didn't want to wait any longer since it had taken so long to get the food. My friend and I were very upset that the only thing the manager said was the waitress was new and needed better training. This manager NEVER offered to take anything off of the bill or compensate us for this awful experience. Needless to say we won't be recommending any one else to go to this restaurant.
Food was very good and our server, Gemma, was excellent! We really enjoyed our meal. I hadn’t visited Ramano’s Macaroni Grill in a while and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the service. We will definitely go back.
It was bad.
Nice being able to make reservation...no waiting
We were a family group of seven having a meal together after viewing a holiday play. We were seated promptly after a warm welcome. The server was pleasant and helpful. The food was delicious--everyone was pleased. We will return.
Pretty restaurant, great service, food is very sub par for the price.
Food was mediocre. Good service.
First, we were served our soup before water or wine was served. Second our food was delivered too soon and was not hot. This was Thanksgiving and we ordered the Thanksgiving meal. Turkey and mashed potatoes were good, but the dressing and brussel sprouts were terrible. The pumpkin cheesecake was the best thing we ate.
This place is the worst place ive eaten since high school. I will never eat there again! The only thing that was good about this night was our waitress. I pray she finds another place to work soon. Theres a reason why this place has been bankrupt 3 times in 3 years... IT SUCKS SO SO SO BAD. McDonalds is a major upgrade.
This was the worst dining experience I have had in a very long time. We sat for over an hour waiting for our food with our 3 year old, 6 year old, and 8 year old. Fortunately they were well behaved while we waited. Then after waiting all that time the portions were small. To top it off my son found part of a butter wrapper in his macaroni and cheese. They did give us a 25% discount and free desserts to take home. When we got home with our desserts my wife found a hair in her pumpkin cheesecake. Safe to say we will never dine at this restaurant again.
Kitchen was slow, slow, slow again.....almost an hour for meals to arrive. Spoils an otherwise good meal.
Waitress was very nice but you could tell she was new because she had a cheat sheet when I asked for different kinds of sauce. I heard her apologize to multiple tables for something being wrong which none seemed liked her fault. My girlfriend got the trio and when she went to cut into her Chicken the bottom was so burnt it would not cut. Waitress got us a new piece but really thought a manager would of stopped by our table to apologize as well but never did.
