Rowland's is always a great option if you're near Macy's. They have the most amazing falafel burger and the chocolate cake is delicious.
It was a cute restaurant. The hostess was marvelous, however I did find that I had to track down a server if I wanted a refill of my drink or order something. I waited a good 15 minutes before anyone saw me after the hostess sat me. It was a bit disappointing. Two different waiters helped me..... the second - much more attentive - and ended my experience on a good note.
Food was average - no noise because restaurant was empty
Solid lunch choice in the Macy’s department store basement .
Rowland’s burger was a very fine burger - medium rare with the egg.
Group also had very nice salads.
Service slow realize they are busy but I’m sure they r always busy so who wants to sit that long when u want to shop! We told them it was a birthday; but it was ignored
Excellent place. Outstanding burgers I recommend to reserve a table prior get there. Friendly staff.
While there were some initial issues with my order my server and the manager took great care to ensure that it was corrected. Nice atmosphere and a low noise level. A good place to stop and take a nice break while shopping.
Noah our server was amazing and super accommodating! We had a semi difficult group with kids, and he made us feel right at home and took great care of the table! Thank you Noah and team!
Very good experience. Been here at least 6 times now, my family and I come yearly and we have never been dissatisfied. Quality service and very good food. Great choice if you are in Macy’s doing some Christmas shopping.
Too expensive when compared to the very small portions.
Awfully slow s
Service was terrible and we have eaten here several times with awesome service.
The food was surprisingly good! It was chosen for connivence and it was perfect. Would eat there again.
Service was terrible. Food was not worth it. Would not recommend nor would I return.
The host was slow. We stood waiting for about 20 minutes even though we had a reservation. His movement was very inefficient. The food service was slow. We ordered, and waited 30 minutes for our food. The waiter was slow. We had to ask for the check, then snag the manager to actually get it. She immediately brought it and took 20% off for our wait. So that and the fact that the food was tasty were the only redeeming qualities this restaurant had.
To top it off our waters never got refilled. Needless to say, I doubt we will be returning.
The food was okay, nothing special. You are in the city so expect to pay a little more than average for a meal. Had the burger, was over cooked. Fries were good. Kids had chicken fingers, average, edible. Convenient place to eat because right inside Macy’s
The wait staff was very friendly but the food took over an hour to come.
As the menu was limited one would expect each item to be well made. Extremely disappointing. The food was mediocre at best. Salad was way over dressed. The “falafel burger” was dry and tasteless with not enough sauce.
Food and service was excellent
It was great, but had a hard time finding the restaurant. Didn't expect it to be on the Lower Level inside the Macy's. Maybe next time I should read the reviews more carefully.
Food was amazing! After our last visit (not that great), this was so nice! Waitress was very nice.
Overall, food was good. Steak was good, seasoning slightly salty. Service was good. Excellent seating, accomidation met.
Had never heard of Rowlands before I went. And for good reason. It's tucked inside Macy's lower level. But now that I've discovered it, I'll be back.
The food was terrific, and varied. I had the falafel burger. Which I would now eat anytime over a hamburger. My guest had the chopped crispy chicken salad. Judging by how quickly she finished hers, I'd say she liked it.
The restaurant is tucked behind the food court on the lower level of Macy's. Worth the effort.
Great place for lunch if you're shopping at Macy's. Food is quite good and the service is fast and friendly. They falafel burger is a must-try!
My daughter & daughter in law took me to NYC for my birthday! We started our trip out shopping at Macy’s & stopped into Rowland’s for lunch. The staff was welcoming & attentive! The cocktails were delightful & our food was great!
Food and atmosphere were good, service was a little slow considering the dining room wasn't very full. Prices were a bit expensive for what it was. Probably better if you're have a Macys employee discount.
Rowland's has a nice ambiance and its uniqueness is that its in the Lower Level of Macy's iconic store in Herald Square.
After a busy day shopping all the 7-8 floors relax downstairs with a nice glass of wine. Hamburgers looked good but I'm a vegetarian.
Don't be in a hurry to go anywhere, service is slow.
Going to a concert at Madison Square Garden. Very friendly service, one of our party’s orders wasn’t filled as requested, but overall we go back!!
Wanted something close to MSG for a quick bite! Good was great and with a full bar. Drinks were amazing too. Service was amazing.
It took over 30 minutes to get a medium rare burger and it came raw. We could not wait to have it cooked better. They did take it off bill. Right before leaving a woman next to us got a burger too. She sent it back too for being raw.
Will not go again and would not recommend.
Great food especially the pull-apart bread. Service was fantastic, it's waiter service but they get you in and out super quick. My one gripe is the plate the 'small' salad (the small is gigantic!!!!) is served on - it should come in a bowl. The plate was so full I had a hard time keeping food from sliding off! But highly recommend nonetheless.
In the basement of Macy's. Place empty, sat for 10 minutes until someone came over. Ordered what I thought was a unique NY deli sandwich, ended up being 2 thick pieces of bread and a little bit of pastrami with other stuff. Not an enjoyable meal!
It appeared as if they were short-staffed and it was the busiest I had ever seen it in the restaurant. They were doing the best they could but the service level was different from where it normally is
Colby was the perfect waitress. Always friendly and very knowledgeable about both food and the surroundings, helping tourists like us our greatly.
The Food is great in this restaurant , you get a good size portion and the prices are on the affordable side , You get tap water and they keep refilling your glass which is also on the plus side as I only drink water with my meals and in most places you have to buy bottled water
Convenient location if you are going to Madison square garden. Waited a very long time just to get drinks, though the drinks were very good. The food also took awhile to come out and just wasn’t what we expected and the salmon came out raw and had to be brought back making it a longer time waiting. Fries were very good. In the end, it was a little pricey for everything and the experience.
Perfect and convenient dining after a full day of shopping!
Excellent service and good food. The bathroom is not in the restaurant and is VERY far...huge downside.
It was good. I liked the books. The waiter was kind.
food was burnt in edible Staff were apologetic but terrible experience complete waste of money unfortunately
