Rumfish y Vino - Ventura, CA
Food was tasty, Creole sea bass with coconut rice was prepared perfectly. Conch fritters good as well.
Staff is pleasant and attentive. Really nice ambiance with the open air feel to it.
We enjoyed a nice dinner outside on the patio area. All the tables were spaced out and the patio was nicely decorated with plants/flowers and lights. They also had heaters available. The food was great; I would go back again.
Excellent food, service , and ambiance! Watermelon mojitos/mussels the best!!
Great food and loved the island atmosphere
Beautiful patio without outdoor fireplace. Staff is very friendly and food is fantastic.
Highly recommended. Owners own the original location still in Belize. Amazing food, a gem of a spot. You feel like you are in the islands.
This place never disappoints, great food, drinks and atmosphere.
Nice ambience on the patio, super fast service, good drinks, excellent fare and friendly to boot...what more could you ask for.
8 of us attended for a birthday. We were sat outside, in the evening. It appeared there was only 1 server for the whole restaurant. We sat for 20 minutes prior to anyone asking if we were ready to place an order. We ordered 3 salmon dishes and 4 burgers. The food arrived and the potatoes and broccolini served with the salmon were lukewarm on all 3 salmon dishes. The burgers were fine. We returned the salmon for them to warm up the sides. Upon return, the sides were hot but the salmon was lukewarm.
The server had little interest in serving us, but the bus boy was great. Then, because we were 8 people, they automatically added 20% to the bill as a tip.
Needless to say, we won't be returning to Rumfish y Vino.
I love the ambiance of the restaurant and the staff has always been nice and helpful. The food continues to just miss. This time I had the fig and goat cheese salad and that was the stand out dish of the night. I really love this combination and it was well executed.
The problem began with the main courses. I had the fish soup. I was so thick it coated my spoon and the flavor was only ok. The fish in it was ok, the soup part turned me off so much that I could not even try most of the other ingredients.
My hubby had the fish tacos and he said they were ok, but very bland.
I had fish another time and it was overcooked and oddly seasoned.
I really hope they find a better chef to create some dishes that have seasonings that actually compliment the food and some cooks to execute the dishes without cooking them too much.
This place is one of the nicest places to eat in downtown Ventura. I just wish the food was better.
Fantastic and fun location. Sat on the patio, plenty of heaters. Food was delicious and drinks were inventive and well poured. The Paloma was particularly delicious. Would highly recommend this to anyone. Not one aspect of the meal and experience was not top notch. Well done!
Started with a delicious salad with figs and goat cheese. Next was grilled fish tacos and pork belly flatbread. Everything we had was delicious. The only food issue at all was the fact that the room was so cold, we both ordered coffee. The coffee was luke warm at best - even when asked the second time for hotter. Other than that, service was friendly and great. The place was uncomfortably COLD! Also, it has many tables and there were only a few people in the place. I hope word gets out that their food is yummy so more people visit and I hope the doors stay closed so those inside don't wish they went somewhere else.
Great service! Steaks were seasoned perfectly., Our drinks weren't mixed well, but still good. Definitely would recommend this place
Consistently outstanding. Brought friends from out of town here and they said this was the best meal they had their entire trip.
Great food, great service
Always. a good experience
Nice place but food is expensive for the portions.
Food was bland or burnt to a crisp. Never had tasteless salmon before. Steak was raw on the inside, hard as a rock on the outside. Restaurant was out of at least 5 food options. Wine and ambiance were good.
Third time meeting old friend for a French wine lunch . Great location . Nice staff .
Highly recommend sitting on the patio , especially when the weather is nice .
Unfortunately , the kitchen / wait staff brought our entree almost immediately on the heels of our appetizer . Sent it back to be warmed but not happy knowing our fish would get dried out somewhat by being under the warmers . I think the Co - Owner made up for it by comping our corkage , although no one told us that .
I'll be back .
One of my favorite places in California as it makes you feel like you're in the Caribbean for day. Love the conch ceviche but really the entire menu is good. Chefs really create some memorable meals.
Never a bad meal. Never bad service. Always a great time. LOVE this place!
Nice restaurant, building and setting are very inviting. Menu had options you do not see every day. Food was excellent, decent beer list with some brews.
Came here on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner of about 12 people. We were sat immediately. The outside dining area is lovely and comfortable with tons or heat lamps and a fire place. The service was great and the food was delicious. We had a great time. The Wagyu burger is fantastic.
Great food and excellent service! Great outdoor patio seating.
Best in Ventura. Excellent atmosphere, service and food.
Great dinner provided with my wife ordering up the creole sea bass and I took the Waygu beef dish. The service at this location is second to none and this restaurant is a jewel for Ventura. Always well managed and clean operation. Keep up the great job and we will be back soon.
Our food was outstanding as usual. Love the heated patio! Great service, excellent cocktails, and just a wondeful experience.
Just wished the warmers were working better. Seems to always blow out during dinner about 3 times. But we were fine and loved our whole evening. :)
Excellent atmosphere and great food
Great personal service, and all had smiles. Good food and pleasant experience
Kitchen was very slow with few people in the restaurant.
The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Excellent food at a fair price
Simple dinner for four people came out to over $160.00, a bit pricey for tacos and rice.
Across the board, amazing flavors that reinterpret everyday meals. The pork belly pozole was amazing.
Great local gem in the downtown district of Ventura. Food and atmosphere are great: we had the Peruvian ceviche, sausage flatbread, grilled fish tacos and sea bass. They were all quite tasty. I ordered a jalapeño orange juice margarita and it was very spicy, but still good and fresh. I would definitely come here again.
The atmosphere was beautiful and cozy and the food and drinks were off the charts yummy!
Absolutely loved this place. We used to eat at Cafe Nouveau when passing through Ventura but this place is 1000 times better. Delightful patio with fireplace, comfy banquettes, lots of plants, and colorful lap blankets. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The Caribbean inspired food is fantastic and a nice change from the usual Californian cuisine you get around here. Nice kid's menu with plenty of crayons and lovely, interesting cocktails.
Sat by fire ate great food with wonderful service👍
Food is always excellent, consistent quality, service is immediate and spot-on.
We had a great experience! We had scheduled a table for three(3), but called day of and changed to six (6).. when we arrived, they only had us down for the original 3. They bent over backwards to accommodate our party ! Food and service - excellent ! Great time ! 25 stars !
