The food was even better than expected! The servings were very generous, we had the jumbo prawns & the chilean sea bass. The flavors were rich, but not overpowering. You could tell the seafood was very fresh-and the sauces were delicious. The hostess was super friendly, and our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Oh, and the garlic naan was unbelievable! Will definitely return soon!

We love the food. It’s very tasty and authentic. Spacing during Covid is well done and service is very quick.

We ordered Indian items from the menu. The food was not typical to most Indian restaurant but was absolutely delicious and portions were large.

The food here is outstanding... an eclectic mix of Indian dishes mixed in with American bar food. We had Sea Bass in a creamy sauce that had pomegranate seeds for a piquant “pop”... wonderful! The service is warm and solicitous.

If you’re considering SaGhar, book it! My husband and I ate here for the first time this past Sunday and we were blown away by this place. The portions are huge - I think my husband’s salad could’ve fed four people. The presentation of each plate was simply GORGEOUS! I usually oversalt my food, but the flavors were so rich and savory there was no need for salt or pepper. Delicious steaks cooked to perfection and just an overflowing of flavors. Will definitely be back! Oh, and the view of the harbor is very nice, even with open windows in November. Such a great and visceral dining experience. A+

Food was pretty good - I’d like more traditional Indian items. Service was inattentive. We had to flag our waiter down every time. I ordered the same drink down at the bar and at my table and they were different...

Excellent location with rooftop dining overlooking the harbor....great service....tried the lamb it was tender but needed some salt for my taste...indian naan/roti good.. mussels one of the highlights...with green curry...full of sauteed onions and it's gingery...menu is definitely a fusion....including chicken wings and burgers and lobster Mac n cheese for American flair..

Everything we had for dinner was excellent. My only disappointment was the limited menu choices

The food exceeded expectations and the outdoor deck was perfect on a lovely day!The spacing of the tables and the sun umbrellas made for a relaxing experience!We had the sea bass with a mash and a lovely sauce cooked to perfection!The spinach paneer with potatoes was also well done!Service was friendly and efficient!

Food was excellent although one diner ordered steak medium rare and it came back well done, so it was sent back. Plus some specialty drinks did not have sufficient alcohol and we sent back for more alcohol.

Absolutely loved everything about Saghar!! The hospitality and service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious!! We will be returning!!

My birthday dinner

My only negative comment would be that they brought out the main course about 5 minutes after the appetizers. We weren't able to enjoy them due to wanting to enjoy our dinner hot.
Next time I would ask them to wait until they see our apps finished!

My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and her birthday the following day, and we ordered lobster, lobster mac, appetizers, and more. It was incredible food, incredible seating, and incredible service. Thanks for everything SaGhar!

Service was awful! They were running at half capacity and it still took 20 minutes to get drinks, 45 minutes for the appetizer and then another 45 for entree. The food tasted amazing though.

Food was delicious, service could be better. Waiter very nice but needs improvement with providing upscale service to match your food prices. Disposable menu would be better especially with Covid. The menu appearance was worn, the worst I’ve ever seen. Also place was slightly dusty on wooden surfaces. The food definitely compensated for all the minor issues. You can do much better if you elevate your service as well as the minor details I mentioned.

I would have felt more comfortable if the tables were spaced out further. Additionally, the timing of drinks and appetizers was off. The entrees were very good.

While the outside deck is nice, they could certainly improve the decor and install fans, as it was very hot there.
Live music was too loud for a dinner crowd.
Food was ok however I thought my sea bass dish which is a "favorite" was lacking in flavor. Having had Indian food that is full of flavor this was a bit of a disappointment. The fish itself was perfectly cooked, though.
Rack of lamb was very tender but again lacking in exceptional seasoning.
Cocktails were well made, but friends who are wine drinkers were unhappy with both red and white house wine choices.
Service was very pleasant.

Great place to dine by the water. We ate on the rooftop which was a nice ambient setting. Not too formal or too casual. Outstanding service. Food was good as well but we just felt it was overpriced for certain dishes. Great date night location and within walking distance to Port Jefferson village. Wonderful location

Very helpful service, food was delicious. The view outside is pleasant. Live music was very nice to hear. The bartenders make great drinks and are extremely friendly. Prices are as expected considering location and quality of food. It gets a bit hot on the rooftop during the night time. Perhaps more fans or air conditioning can be installed. Also, the music at night time can be a bit loud, sometimes I have a hard time hearing during a conversation. The menu has quite a small selection of food, however everything I have gotten was very good. The food comes out pretty quickly and it is always a good temperature and fresh. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant for lunch and/or dinner.
