Salt Pine Social
We met for a family last night together dinner, and everything was great from the food to the service. Excellent dinner!
We love, love, love Salt Pine Social! We're newcomers to the area and try to get in each time we come up. Last Sunday we had our best meal ever, I would say: lamb chops; tuna; spinach salad & rhubarb crisp. Everything was wonderfully prepared, presented and flavored. From the welcome at the door to the server & service (Lauren, I believe), it was a lovely evening. We had a reservation--when I went on Open Table early in week, Saturday night was booked up, but Sunday was available. Even though it was busy, we never felt rushed. Thank you!
booked this for my brother's graduation; service was amazing, food was delicious. had their gin cocktail and it was delish :)
Happy to be back in Bath to visit Salt Pine Social for a second time. Friendly atmosphere, beautiful to be there with the days longer and to see out the big windows. Food is delicious, service is attentive and the menu is broad. It's restful, fun and lovely.
Great evening, great food. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful.
Great service and menu selection. Food was tasty and served hot. Daniel was our server and I would highly recommend him.
My wife and I came to celebrate her birthday. We each had an appetizer, drinks, a main course, dessert and cappuccinos. I had the gnocchi which was good but not as good as described in the menu. It lacked flavor. The french fried avocados were excellent. My wife's hallibut was also excellent.
Great place, really good menu/food.
Food was delicious. Husband had swordfish and I had Lamb chops . Seasoning was spot on.
We went early . Noise wasn't a factor. (5:30) parking good. Only disappointment was the dessert menu. Four items and limited to three . Nothing was interesting on the menu.
Other than that we will go back again.
Lovely gem in a quiet neighborhood in Bath Maine. Unique choices and food opportunities. Tempura avocado to start is a must. Good entrees from burgers to steamed clams with noodles. The fried clams are perfection and the entrees I did not order looked wonderful as I saw them pass by. Interesting cocktails , lovely desserts add to the beginning and finale. So when in the area this is a do not miss.
Best veggie burger in the land! Beet salad was delicious. I've had the burger with the fries and with the salad, both are OK, not outstanding but the burger and deli pickle more than make up for it. Service was excellent.
We’ve been to the Salt Pine Social resultant more than 8 times since their opening and have always found the staff to be very inflexible. The restaurant staff were reluctant to allow us to sit in the bar and instead told us that it was reserved and seated us in a very noisy dining room. The bar seating was never fully used!! The chef was also very rigid and would not allow for a vegetable substitutions regardless of a customers dislike for the menu choice. We’ll never go to Salt Pine Social restaurant again!!
We live in Bath and have eaten at Salt Pine Social many times. We have NEVER been disappointed! We have sat at the bar for drinks, had dinner at the bar and have eaten in the dining room. All fun--great vibe: NYC meets Maine! From the appetizers to main courses, everything we've had has been excellent. They offer both vegetarian and non-veggie options. Love the grain bowl, great burgers/fries (Lamb burger--yum!) They have both creative food options and more traditional choices...all always great. This trip I had the sword fish skewer and it was delicious! The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. It's one of our favorite restaurants!
Very nice, refreshing.........hope it does well a new leader on the restaurant seen in Bath.
Nice menu but pricey.
Another great meal from Salt Pine Social!!!! Make sure you try the mussels - delicious pillows of perfection!
Salt Pine Social is one of our absolute favorite places to eat. The food is great (especially the gf fried chicken!), the service is fantastic, and the atmosphere is unique and pleasant. We go whenever we can find an excuse!
Excellent service and luscious food, and blessedly quieter when adjoining tables left!
My overall experience both times dining here were okay. The food is fresh and tasty and the cocktails are terrific. It's just a little too "fancy" for my taste, so I don't see the value in paying extra for a meal. The menu is also very limited and it would be nice to have more choices. Most of my friends really like it, though, so it obviously is a good option for a lot of people.
We've dined at Salt Pine Social several times and have never been disappointed.
Salt Pine Social never dissapoints! The food is local, creative & delicious. The hamburger is cooked on charcoal & maybe wood? Yum. Gluten free buns available for those of you who appreciate this! The bar is always a great place to sit if you are looking for a more casual night out.
Great food...really enjoyed my gnocchi and the fried chicken is excellent. Great service as well!
Another memorable meal. Menu is interesting. Wine list is enjoyable. Waiter Jason was personable, attentive and helpful. We will be back soon.
We enjoyed the food very much and the service was excellent, but it was far too noisy for us. We would be reluctant to go again if it was likely to be crowded.
Highly recommend Salt Pine Sovial. It has all the qualities of a finer dining restaurant, ambience, amenities, service, cleanliness all around great place to be. Needless to say the menue was very diverse and the finished dinner outstanding.
I must return soon
We are local - and always love our experiences at SPS!
Best burger I have ever had (but then, for $17 it was also just about the most expensive)... Portland-plus prices in a kind of funky setting a bit away from "downtown" Bath. Obviously locally popular. On a nasty, snowy weekday night it was almost full.
Service was uneven. The hostess was harried, indifferent, and abrupt. But our waiter was exceptional: prompt, friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable, with that just-right balance between being unobtrusive and being fully attentive to your needs. Also, in spite of our Open Table reservation we ended up seated looking straight into the kitchen.
But back to that burger... Wow! Softly-packed and cooked respectfully to my requested medium-rare, the secret is an excellent local bacon ground into a well-chosen beef mix. Not a health food, but gosh was it delectable! Truly, I have never had better, anywhere in the world.
On the other hand, I urge the kitchen to reconsider their gravlax appetizer. I adore cold-cured salmon and actively seek out its many, many manifestations, but this one made me queasy. It was died blood red with beet juice (yuck!),. But worse, the taste was extremely fishy - and not a good fishy. Any seasonings were completely overwhelmed. Think pastrami slices soaked in cod liver oil.
I also urge management to put up a curtain or other screen between the dining room and that busy kitchen door. I know they were trying to honor our request for a quiet table, but...
In sum, uneven, but still worth four stars. And with more attention to detail, in sight of five. Worth a visit, particularly now that Solo Bistro is no longer.
Heading back to Portland from Boothbay and decided to try someplace new for dinner. What an incredible stroke of luck! Bath is lucky to have such a wonderful new restaurant! We would definitely make a trip to Bath to enjoy SPS again. Pleasant staff, warm owners, great energy and of course delicious food and drink. Thank you all for ending our evening on such a high note.
First time there...loved everything about our drinks, our server and our food.
Don’t miss this little gem in Bath! The food is innovative and satisfying. Nowhere else in town will you find a selection of fresh local oysters year round. Entrees are creative and delightful, satisfying without being huge. Delicious desserts served in realistic portions. This is our favorite place!
Amazing, fantastic, and wonderful! Our server was one of the best we have ever had! Food was superb! Get the gnocchi, fabulous! Wish I lived local because I’d be there every night.
the food is always great. I wish you could get 1/2 portions of salads. $11 is also quite expensive for a relatively small salad I think. The website menu is not current also. If you want beef the only choice really is a burger. The menu is a bit heavy on squid, oysters, etc.
Delicious farm to table cuisine for the foodie in everyone.
Inventive food, friendly staff and a creative setting. A Maine mid coast gem. Get your Social on and stop by for dinner soon.
Great spot! Excellent food and service! We went for a special birthday and it lived up to all our expectations.
Salt Pine is an innovative, cheerful venue with an array of very delectable fresh local food served in an artful, delightful way.
Perfect food. Outstanding service. Truly excellent evening.
We were on vacation in Georgetown, ME and I wanted to go to a special place for my birthday. My usual go to spot "Solo Bistro" had closed in September and I was despondent. I made reservations at the Salt Pine Social and wasn't sure what to expect.
It was FABULOUS. Great cocktails. I had the Pine Punch - nicely chilled in a teacup. My son had an Old Fashioned which he quite liked. The Lebanese tomata salad was just superb. For an entree I had grilled bluefish. My husband had ricotta gnocchi - which was ligther and better than his Aunt Gracie's (may she rest in peace). My son was not feeling adventurous and had a hamburger which he said was a 10 out of 10.
It was a lovely evening and we will be back.
Wonderful evening. Excellent food, service and drinks.
The menu can be confusing, but the servers are willing to explain. The servings are perfect in proportion and the bartender is attentive and personable. Always meet interesting people there!
Excellant food beverages, great cocktails & wine list..& service, nice decor..only problem is noise level..very load hard to hear each other & wait staff..Will definitely return..
