Designed for seafood lovers – Saltwater Fish Company, situated in Fenwick Foodhall, operates as both a Fish Bar and Fishmonger with a ‘we cook what we sell, we sell what we cook’ philosophy. There’s no fuss – just a passion for seafood, simple yet creative cooking and friendly service.

Treated my husband for his 50th birthday for lunch here. Absolutely fantastic food! The seafood platter was incredible!. Fantastic service with lovely staff, excellent restaurant and worth every penny. Definitely return again very soon.

A beautifully prepared fruits de mer platter shared between two for a lunch celebrating a birthday and post-grad success. We enjoyed oysters, crab, scallops, prawns, mussels and clams accompanied first by fizz, then a very palatable house white. Seating is on high stools at the counter, which we enjoyed, but I imagine it's not for everyone. I'd travelled one hour by train just for the lunch and it was well worth the journey - I'll be doing it again!

You’re always guaranteed good seafood here. Good to have seating facing the chefs and staff. Rear seats facing mirrors and wall not so good.

Always fabulous. Lovely staff and lovely food. Specials menu changes regularly whilst the everyday menu has my favourite fishcakes in parsley cream sauce.

We love sea food and never had anything better anywhere in the uk. Great attentive staff great service. I gave a 4 stars for ambiance due to that we were the only ones in at the time. Normally it’s great buzz and we will be back as it’s our go too place for sea food.

Excellent service , very attentive but not intrusive either. Food was amazing , will be back as there is so much more that we want to try . Quality of food was excellent and overall a lovely chilled relaxed area .

Excellent hot platter of seafood to share, but it comes with sausages, possibly made of pork, so non-pork eaters be aware about it... But so delicious!!!! Loved it! It was going to Newcastle from Durham just for dinner there.

Simply love this place especially when seated at the counter. Delicious well cooked food. Highlights were the prawn skewers and the halibut. Not the cheapest lunch for three but great food and if you love seafood this is the place for you. Good selection of wine and champagne.

The choice and price range caters for all needs. From a single oyster to a bumper Fruits de Mer selection to share. The staff are pleasant, professional and helpful. Not too loud, not too quiet, it's a great place to eat and drink and I'd recommend to others and try and stop me from returning. Ideal pre-theatre dinner!

Simply stunning. The quality of the produce served is phenomenal. The meals were mouthwatering. I ordered 4 drinks, two of which were glasses of wine, a sharing platter of oysters and two large plates for £100. Expensive? Yes but absolutely worth it! I was expecting it to be more pricey for the quality of the ingredients and portion sizes. I didn’t know what to expect when I was sat around the bar but it was a very very relaxed atmosphere and I loved watching the chefs prep the food. The time of day I went as well (lunch) it was quiet which added to a lovely atmosphere. The staff were lovely as well. 100% recommend for a treat!

Always fantastic food, and service. The young men who work there do a fantastic job. Constantly busy, constantly washing their hands, always smiling, Never had halibut like it! Impeccable!!! Thank you 😊 The fair haired young girl dressed in a black dress was so lovely, she had a lovely grace about her. Can’t compliment the staff enough. It’s a lovely treat to visit.
