Almond encrusted flounder special is delicious! Hope Saltwater makes a menu item. So god!
Presentation of food needs improving. Three things I ordered they were out of? Lobster pot pie the crust was like rubber
The food was sooooo good. It was refreshing to actually go to a restaurant and the food had taste and everything was perfect. Our server Stephen was the best, He actually knew about all of the dishes and recommended our meals. Everything was great. We will actually go back.. soon I hope.
It was a last minute thought but well worth it. The restaurant was very clean and the food was delicious!! You have to try the crab dip.
I had such high hopes for this place but everything we ordered was just ok... the best thing we tried was the fried okra most of our food was bland and they even failed to deliver on dessert the banana pudding taste store brought and the oven cookie did too I can do without ever visiting again!
The outdoor eating area is really not very enticing , my backyard patio looks better.
My wife’s crab cake over Risoto was excellent however my peach salsa topped grilled Flounder was dry & the salsa was. Not to my liking.
Think would be a great place for lunch but not dinner
Very enjoyable experience despite social distancing measures which the handle very safely. Hav calimari app and crab cake entrees. All were excellent. Staff was very attentive
We had a very wonderful dinner and the service was great the restaurant was wonderful place to dine they made it a very special night for me and my wife
Pecan encrusted flounder special was incredible! Best seafood I’ve had in a long time
35th anniversary dinner. My husband had the stuffed flounder and said it was good. I had the "Almost Famous" Lobster Roll. I understand why it's Almost Famous. I was so disappointed. Nothing special roll a piece of lettuce and lobster. I was told the lemon aoli was on the roll but I couldn't taste it. Coleslaw had a touch too much vinegar for me also French fries we're good
This is a Rick Irwin restaurant so my expectations going in were pretty high. I normally would shy away from a mall restaurant however, they have their own access to the street so its not even necessary to enter the mall. For a starter, I had both raw and baked oysters which were excellent. Based on the recommendation from the server, I had the Lobster roll which was also quite nice. I would recommend this restaurant and am interested in going back to try other items on the menu.
The food was very average
Really a nice place for an excellent meal. Hope they survive this pandemic.
We enjoyed the dark, cool atmosphere with the large saltwater mural. The appetizer was not what I expected from a seafood specialty restaurant. The crab dip had very little crab in it. It was mostly celery. That’s the most expensive celery I ever ate. The Salmon was good but over seasoned with pepper. My husband had your basic chicken fingers and fries which was delicious. We very much enjoyed the sweet cornbread. Sadly, the dessert was a dry chocolate cake. Chocolate rarely disappoints me, but this one did. Not the anniversary dinner I had hoped for.
We keep going back to Saltwater. Best fish and chips in town.
Great food and service. Big selection of seafood. Tackle Box is a must.
This place is best in upstate for quality and freshest oysters ($1.50! Everyday!)
I was hoping for a little less light and a little more romantic setting. But the food was delicious and we do plan to go back.
Simply amazing, first time here, the food is 5 star the service is 5 star, glad we found you all! We will be back!
Overall, we were disappointed. I ordered the most expensive cocktail on the menu, and it was delicious but very small -- smaller than I've experienced at Nantucket, which is under the same ownership. I switched to a light beer after that. My husband's red fish was good, but my blackened fish sandwich was just so-so and very spicy (perhaps my mistake for ordering it since it said "blackened"). Most disconcerting were the gnats hovering all around our table and actually getting into my food on at least two occasions. I slapped the wall beside us, killing three of them. We were told that the restaurant is trying to do something about the gnats, which come in from the constantly opening door. They need to do something soon.
Had a lobster roll and a salmon dinner. Both were perfection. Our waitress, also the bartender, was cheerful, knowledgeable and interesting.
Saltwater Kitchen has become my favorite restaurant. Highly recommend the fish and chips. The cornbread is delicious ! We always ask for more.
Always has good food have never been disappointed with anything we ordered. But the chicken sandwich is to die for!!!!!
We chose Saltwater Kitchen for a birthday dinner. It was our first time and definitely not our last! Everything was amazing, from the host, waitress to other staff whom walked by our table and wish a happy birthday! Not to mention the ambiance was very intimate and relaxing.
The food was some of the best I've had in Greenville. The server was very nice but very absent. Our drinks were often empty and without ice. We ordered appetizers, soup and entrees and I had all three in front of me at the same time. I can't stress enough that the food was delicious, best calamari in Greenville hands down. But the service was really awful. We will go again very soon and hope we get a decent server.
We are never disappointed at any of Rick Erwins restaurants. This past Wednesday night was no exception.
We throughly enjoyed our experience. The tables are spaced well, so you are not sitting on top of the next table. Our server was attentive and informative regarding the menu and our food was excellent. The cornbread is perfect. We will be back and we will tell our friends.
Although the dining room was full, we had an OpenTable reservation and were seated right away. Our waitress was relatively new but she did a great job providing service. We really appreciated the fact she knew her bar choices (seems a rarity any more). Our cocktails were excellent. We both had the crab-stuffed flounder, which turned out to be the best flounder we have ever had. It was cooked to perfection. The creamed spinach was truly outstanding. Dessert, white chocolate raspberry bread pudding and chocolate cake were both delicious. We have dined at virtually Rick Erwin restaurant and always come away very happy. We wholeheartedly recommend Saltwater Kitchen.
Good food. Fantastic service. Really nice atmosphere.
Good food, good price and good ambiance. I would recommend it.
This was my first visit, food and service was very good and will return
Food was good but our server wasn’t the best! She seemed like she didn’t want to be there.
First-time diners here; however, we’ve been to many Ric Erwin’s restaurants. Loved the quality & service. Never disappointed.
When making reservations at Saltwater Kitchen, I was a little concerned about it being a "mall restaurant." Once our party of six arrived at the restaurant, my worries were left behind. We were promptly seated and met by our very friendly waiter. The atmosphere is anything but a "mall" atmosphere. If you had been blindfolded and taken in, you would not have known this restaurant is attached to mall.
Our waiter was outstanding. He gave us several recommendations and these all turned out to be excellent. My wife had the red fish grilled and I had the flounder stuffed with crab meat. Both were amazing and I would order again.
We received great food and the price was very good. I was very impressed and will likely return on my next trip to Greenville.
This was my second time and my husband's first time here. The food and service didn't disappoint. The brussel sprouts were our favorite!
Great service and nice portions. Our table ordered enough to share and plenty left over.
Have eaten at Saltwater Kitchen several times in the past 2 months and have enjoyed every visit! Good food!
Scallops on my seafood pasta were so delicious! Bread pudding was great as well!
The only negative was that the doors don’t close automatically, so sometimes a cold draft would blow making it cold until staff could close the door.
Crab-stuffed flounder ,collard greens and cornbread were excellent. Catfish and chips were okay. She crab soup was so-so and I would never order it again. Our server was very friendly and accommodating when my dairy-allergic daughter asked for a substitution. However, the only dairy free side dish the kitchen staff could actually do was bland green beans. And the sautéed redfish she was served had no flavor at all. I can think of about a dozen very flavorful ways to prepare fish that involve no dairy. But unfortunately, the chef there could not.
Food was really good. The service was just okay - Ms. Ray (our server) seemed a little distracted and slightly upset about something. She was nice but distant. The price was a little high - don’t think I could dine there too often ($110 for 4 people).
