Thank you, Rick! Greatly appreciated the extra services.
Dale was amazing! He made our experience.
It was our first time back to the Spruce Point Inn in "MANY" years. It's a beautiful location. We had a very good experience dining at the "Salty Stag," the food was very good and the service was great. The atmosphere was very enjoyable. I had the Lobster Bisque for an appetizer and both my Wife and I had the half chicken dinner. I had the blueberry pie with ice cream for dessert. The menu is small but covers a little of everything. I would like to dine at the main restaurant if it opens before our vacation is over. Would diffentitly dine at the "Salty Stag" again in the future.
Thank you for your kind words about The Salty Stag and for returning to SPI. We're so glad you enjoyed your experience. We look forward to having you with us again in the near future!
I stayed at the Inn for the weekend with my husband and our 23 year old son - and had four meals there. Each was delicious - beautifully prepared, interesting and delicious combinations. The atmosphere was bright and well appointed, the staff were very attentive and pleasant. We definitely recommend.
Thank you for your review and kind words. We're excited about this new restaurant and are so glad you enjoyed it. The team takes a lot of pride in their efforts, and we'll be sure to share your praise with them. In 2021, we'll be debuting our other new onsite restaurant, Whiteclover. We hope you'll return and try that as well!
Tables are made of zinc and smell like dirty water. Food allergy error with excuses from kitchen. Very disappointed.
Amazing - fresh food, service is wonderful. It’s a must when visiting the area!
Friendly staff , great food
Everything was just perfect but if you are an adult looking for an adult dinner you may want to eat at the main restaurant. There were too many kids eating there at their own table undersupervised. Besides that the wine was good, the food excellent with a lovely view and good service.
This was our first time there. We had a little trouble finding the place so you need more signs around the property. We had noticed a table next to us that got an appetizer and we didn't so we asked what it was? We were told chips and sour cream and onion. He asked if we wanted some and we said no since we don't eat that stuff. They brought it anyway so we had to send it back. Waiters need to pay attention better. Other than that, very nice.
Great food! Approachable menu with incredible flavor. The atmosphere is casual, but it is comfortable and the staff are very friendly. Worth a visit!
I had eaten at this restaurant a couple of years ago while staying at SPI and had a wonderful experience! Found out the hard way that it’s under new management. Food was good but service was horrific! Wasn’t crowded (even for it being July 4th), but drinks from bar weren’t even close to being what we ordered and bartender had zero customer service skills. And the 4 of us had finished our entire meals before my husband’s salad even arrived. He finally just told them to cancel his order. Even after restaurant manager had to sign off on that, she didn’t come ask what they could do to improve our experience or anything. I searched HER out st the end of the meal to let her know the ways that the service was a complete fail. She was slightly apologetic, but I felt that she was just in over her head.
It was great. Lobster Mac was on point.
Good selection of casual fare. Same drink list as 88 next door. Friendly staff. Matt let us sit in the next room to watch US Open golf.
Horribly loud, could not carry on a conversation!
Horribly loud, could not carry on a conversation!
Food was just okay, although kids’ chicken tenders were very good. Their serving was bigger than the adults’ fish tacos (which were just 2 small pieces of fried fish with carrots on tortillas, with cole slaw on the side)! Risotto of the day had way too much onion. I do not recommend the blackberry sangria either. I would only eat here if you are staying at the inn - it’s perfectly fine for that purpose, and very kid friendly.
Small portions and unremarkable food for a steep price. Since the restaurant is onsite at the resort, one is somewhat of a "captive audience," so I don't think they try hard enough. Breakfast buffet is excellent and appropriate price for the quantity and variety. Lunch was extremely overpriced for very little food -- fish & chips was three small nuggets of overcooked fish, sour/acidic coleslaw, and a mountain of potato chips to fill the plate. Same with the fish tacos. Dinner was better, but still unremarkable for the price tag. A fantastic resort like Spruce Point deserves a better all-around restaurant than this.
All was nice
Casual dinner first night at Spruce Point Inn. Espresso martini was horrible. Food was good. Service good, but not speedy. Good value for a resort.
I ordered a Ceasar salad with salmon. The salmon was raw and I had to send it back twice. The waitstaff was very understanding. Even so, the food was a disappointment. It is convenient to have the restaurant on site at the resort, but next time we would probably dine off site.
Comfortable and easy with terrific service and tasty food.
Food was okay but service very mediocre - manager strolled around dining room but never asked anything about food or experience. Lovely location but clearly poorly trained staff
We had dinner and breakfast there.
Over priced and mediocre service.
Everything took an excruciating amount of time.
Breakfast was particularly poor in terms of cost vs what was offered. It was no better than the fare that is free at acResidence Inn.
The most delicious lobster we have ever had!! Attentive friendly wait staff! Thank you!!
Enjoyed our evening at Bogies. Started the night at the bar; best cosmopolitan ever made by Chantelle. Dinner was excellent, starting with the pretzel rolls and ending with the blueberry pie. Service was outstanding. Staff was attentive and personable.
A good value
Great Staff
Our server was wonderful---give him a raise!
Spruce Point Inn is spectacular! We were fortunate to be able to get a same-day reservation. Bogie's was okay; about what we expected. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, which was way more Mac than lobster. I prefer it with pasta shells, as they hold the cheese better than the rigatoni.
Great food and service at a lovely resort.
Lovely and comfortable spot for a causal dinner. Food and service were excellent.
The atmosphere is very good and the dining room and baths very clean. The service was exceptional. The food was average to good. Adequate, but what we ordered was nothing special, but priced accordingly. The campus, service, and setting make it worth the price in our opinion.
Dinner was decent but not exceptional. I ordered mussels and they very mushy. I returned them and had a caprese salad that was good.
Greeted by host. Not very welcoming. Seemed confused and tried to direct us to another more expensive venue at the hotel. Finally another hostess seated us at a table. Service was mediocre. Waiter forgot to bring a drink and after we were served our meal did not return to check on us. Food OK not great. Unlikely to be going back. Long term summer resident of this region having had two weddings at this place for daughters.
Service was very slow. It took 20 minutes to get a drink each time we ordered. The food was good but the service needs to be improved. We had the same experience the next morning at breakfast.
Servers were very nice and attentive. There were 4 of us--two had the Maine Fried Clams and two had the Salmon Over Spring Pea Risotto. The former was ordinary while the latter was very, very good. Love the nautical theme and the just-right menu. Great price points and nice selection of wines. A little noisy due to the high wood ceilings. Would definitely return. The setting is spectacular.
Great spot in boothbay harbor! Worth going even if not staying at spruce point inn!
Love getting to know the staff, all come in from all over the world for the summer. Very friendly
Fantastic hamburger served on hallah bread. Fresh cut fries and slaw. House made pickle. Outstanding lemon tart. Very pleasant and professional staff at this resort. Go early for drinks on front porch. Gorgeous grounds on the ocean. Adirondack chairs.
We were seated in an area where the light bulb were burnt out so it was very hard to read the menu. Instead of moving us the waiter just commented that it was romantic, that would be great if I was on a date but I was dining with my brother and sister.
They both got the clam chowder - hers had a big piece of what appeared to be paper, the waiter tried to tell us it was possible an onion, NOT!
Receiving the main course took a extremely long time, the waiter apologized said chef was in the process of plating our dinner. Then 30 minutes later the manager stops and says he'll go expedite it. When it finally arrived it was ok, fish was greasy, lobster mac and cheese appeared to be alfredo sauce. Anyway we had a goodtime....
We had three couples, salmon was awesome as was the special flounder. One order of NY Strip was deemed to be one of the best steaks she ordered, done perfectly. The only downside was the lobster one was the lazy man taken out of the shell the other one was the usual. The meat was extremely mushy, it tasted OK but the texture was too weird. My friends SO ate hers and she wound up eating the small dish of corn and bread. She spoke to the manager who's demeanor was that of disinterest. She was really disappointed as she didn't want anything she jus thought that shouldn't serve it to others. When the bill came they had taken the two meals off which wasn't necessary all she wanted was an acknowledgment of the problem. Regardless we will be back as our waitress was simply the best and she made our night .
Our service was great, however, our food was just okay and the ambiance was so so. You need to work on your lighting - it feels like a diner. And I don't mean a cool trendy one!!
