Refused entry despite having booked on open table. So not able to tell you about the restaurant but very unhappy.
Lovely staff. Delicious food. Minimum wait considering COVID restrictions. Would definitely eat there again
Very long wait for food probably due to the eat out to help out scheme
Owner very rude. We waited a long time to get serviced then asked to order our food and was told NO. We walked out and will never return
Lovely place, great food... nothing too flash
Went with a girlfriend the food was delicious. Great service.
Nice restaurant, good food and on the evening visited, not too noisy. The staff are friendly but it can sometimes be a little difficult to get their attention! When you do, they're very helpful. Definitely worth visiting.
Very tasty and well-cooked food. Also very friendly staff
An impromptu visit to Samsara. The best curry house in Cheam village.
Arrived on a Saturday eve hoping for a lovely Indian meal. The waiter led us to our table where the chairs had lots of crumbs on them and the floor was covered in broken popadoms. Tried to ignore this but noticed a waiter clearing a table nearby by wiping all crumbs on the floor, hence why our area was a mess.
Ordered a Balti but wanted it hot, like a madras or dansak. Unfortunately it arrived mild. My friend had a dansak and it was perfect, absolutely nothing like I had asked for heat wise, which was a disappointment. Flavour wise is was nice, but nothing like a typical balti.
Sadly the evening was spoiled somewhat by 2 guests squaring up which nearly came to blows, right behind where we was sitting. Not the restaurants fault, however the numerous waiters didn’t have a clue how to handle the situation and just stood there bemused at the situation. Not very reassuring for the other guests in the restaurant.
All in all a disappointment to what I’d hoped to be a nice evening.
I'm disappointed to say this was the worst experience i've had in a restaurant for many years. Service was shocking - with every request taking 20-30 mins to arrive at the table - even water. To the extent, I ordered a beer which arrived in a large bottle, prompting me to ask for a glass, which was greeted with a huff... but alas, the glass never came. The food was tasty but average - at a higher cost. Waiters took no time to explain any chef specials or dishes - resulting in a dish arriving at the table, so spicy, that even for those with the most experienced tastebuds would have suffered. The outside looks so promising, yet inside feels dated and underwhelming. I write this in the hope the owners take note - these are easy fixes, that can otherwise ruin a night.
A birthday meal with friends
We have always loved the food here and still do but the service on the last few occasions has been getting worse
Tables take ages to clear, slow drinks and not clearing plates until the next course comes is also bad, no offers of dessert and coffee, it’s quicker to go home
Unless it improves and they get more staff we will probably find somewhere else, which is a shame
Eat here a lot great staff great food good atmosphere
Good food but service was poor and slow
Great meal and fantastic staff on NYE. Thank you Andrew and the rest of the team :)
Very nice food that is more contemporary than the usual Indian food
I’ve been coming here for 5 years at lest and this place always delivers on good Quality food.
Samsara is the best Indian restaurant in the area by a distance. A whole new twist on the cuisine and great staff.
Lovely place , took a While to order drinks and food was little slow coming out but was very tasty .
Nice meal will come back again only complaint... lights were very bright .
Lovely food and very good services
Enjoyed it a lot
The food is contemporary and a nice change from the more standard Indian restaurants, still having the lovely variety of tastes of Indian food.
Service is good and the restaurant has a great atmosphere- I recommend it to my friends.
The best indian restaurant in Cheam and Sutton. Exquisite food, courteous amd efficient staff, amazing ambience.
They were having some renovations at the time of our lunch and nobody informed us for them. At first, it was extremely noisy, then they closed the windows but they didn’t switch the air con on. Overall, it was an experience that wouldn’t get me back to the restaurant in a hurry. The care for customers is important and when it’s not to the point, it says a lot about the principles of the restaurant owners.
Enjoyable evening, excellent food and service, however noise ecco`s within the eating hall and the chairs make awful noise when pulled in or out or moved, pads need to be fitted onto the feet of the chair legs to maybe prevent this grating noise.
I had been meaning try this restaurant for years so was pleased I finally got around to it. The food was good and it didn’t feel like a typical Indian restaurant which was positive. The service was a little slow which is my only real criticism.
I will visit it again though.
Great as always - two guests in agreement
I have been to Samsara a number of times and always been happy with my food and service. I visited this week which was the first time in a year and could see the changes in decor, very nice. The service was good as you would be expect with only a few customers. The food was average, my starter very disappointing. The bill came and we were overcharged by £30, when brought to the staffs attention it was corrected but with no real apology. Sadly to say we won't be returning or recommending this restaurant anymore. Not sure if management has changed, if it has its not for the better.
As good as always.
Had a lovely birthday meal with our son. Food was great, back if not better than it used to be. Will definitely be back soon!
Had a lovely evening with a friend that ide not seen for a while . Sat in window with fairy lights surrounding it was very cozy . The food was fab and wine very reasonable £20 for a nice bottle of Prosecco . Staff friendly had a great evening will definitely return
The madras was spicier than other indian restaurants in the area which ruined it. Also very expensive and we were on a table near the step and infront of the till. As i got out of my chair i tripped up the step. I was frustrated as i asked if we could have another table due to the step when we arrived. I liked the atmosphere and the waiters were friendly and efficient.
My wife and I started off with a surprisely lovely cocktail in the bar area followed by a really enjoyable and tasty meal. The only qualm a had was the quality of the chicken in my curry felt a bit dry and a little stringey, but this would not put me off going back again as it may of just been a one off and maybe a bit over cooked. The rest of the food was first class and the wine was delicious.
We really like Samsara and it’s one of our favourite restaurants. Attentive service and good value plus very good Indian food.
We booked New Years Eve, but were not warned that there would be live music. This performer was too loud which meant my wife and I could not enjoy the evening out together. Food was okay, but there are other better Indians nearby.
Good food good value
We'd only just moved back to the area and were looking forward to revisiting the restaurant as it had been one of our favourites a few years ago. When we popped along it had just had a re-fit and a change of menu, we didn't think this new menu was too appetizing so didn't go along. However a couple of weeks ago it had relaunched a menu close to the original we had known from a few years ago so went along. The food was really good, just what we'd remembered, the staff were friendly and accommodating. The only slight downside for is was that the portions were a bit on the small side and as this isn't the cheapest of restaurants it was a bit frustrating. Apart from that we had a lovely evening and will be returning. We'll have to remember to order more starters and sides!
Since it was reopened, we have made two visits for dinner and have really enjoyed dinner here on both occasions.
Booked this on-line only to discover the restaurant was closed upon arrival. Thankfully the Village Charcoal Grill opposite was open so we had a lovely meal in there instead!
Lovely atmosphere.
Great service.
Excellent cocktails and food.
I'll be back!
Great restaurant lovely food and very attentive helpful staff
