   Probably some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. My kids had a great time and felt welcome and appreciated by the staff.

   Our food was not very good. The guy that cooked for us couldn’t cook or do any of the tricks. After failing the tricks he said he was just going to cook the food. It was good, heavily salted and it was my daughter’s birthday. I wouldn’t go back

   Absolutely worst experience I’ve had at a hibachi restaurant and we visit them as a family quite often. We had a 7:30 reservation was not seated until 8:20. After being seated we waited 15 minutes for a server to come over and that was after I asked where is our server. The chef made it to our table before our drinks, soup and salad. One of the guest in our party ordered from the kitchen, she didn’t get her food until everyone else was done eating their hibachi and ended up just boxing it up to go. The 2 chefs that were back to back were talking to either the whole time they cooked for their tables. It was so terrible I couldn’t believe my eyes. I think the automatic 18% gratuity despite your party size just makes this staff too comfortable because they know their getting a tip regardless. Do yourself a favor skip this location, go to Duke St.

   I went for hibachi dinner. I have been craving hibachi for a while and it did NOT scratch my itch. The food was not good, the fried rice was bland. If it wasn’t for the yum yum and ginger sauce to give it flavor I would have gave it back. The server didn’t take orders correctly so when the chef came out to cook he was missing a lot of food. Also, BEWARE, the place is not sanitary. A worker from the back decided not to wash her hands after using the bathroom. If she was bold enough to not wash her hands while I’m in the bathroom I can only image what they doing in the back 🥴🤦🏽‍♀️

   We were visiting from out of state. The service was quick. The food was pretty good and pretty big portions. We did the Hibachi and had a couple drinks.

   If I could give this place a zero I would. It took 45 minutes to get a drink, and we were given shooters instead of the mixed drinks we ordered. The one roll sushi appetizer we ordered took an hour, and was the wrong order. It was well over an hour before the hibachi started, and we were a full table from the time we were seated. The cook was unenthusiastic and mismanaged his cooking times so the rice and vegetables were cold before the meat was served. Our second round of drinks, which we ordered at the beginning of dinner had not arrived by the time we asked for the check. It then took 20 minutes for the waitstaff to return the check. Lastly, they conveniently put automatic gratuity on the bill.

   We were staying at National Harbor and drove over to Alexandria for dinner. It took 45 minutes for us to get our soup/salad. The entire staff seemed inconvenienced by us being there. Our chef did not do a show. He simply cooked. We arrived at 8:05 and did not leave until 10 pm. It took 3 requests for me to get my pina colada. They were not particularly busy just seemed disorganized and no teamwork. Will not return

   This was our go to hibachi restaurant, but no more. New management. We had such poor service, we will not be back. Server was so slow. Waited 20 min to order. Drinks came 15 min later but server dropped them on the cook top and broke glass everywhere. Other patrons at our table left because they had been waiting 45 even before we sat down for food. Finally took order. 15 minutes later chef came out, but we had not received the salad or soup. He left and told server to bring it out. Soup was horrible, tasteless mess. Salad was drowning in dressing that was just gross. Finally got our missing drinks 15 minutes after that. Chef came back out to cook. The fried rice was flavorless. The one thing that was good was our steak was a proper med rare which rarely happens. Chef was entertaining and kind. They used to serve noodles as well, they no longer do that which is unfortunate. The place was so busy and loud. We watched other servers messing up orders as well. Just not the same place at all. Will not be back. Bad service, bad food.

    This place was a huge disappointment. Food was cold & tasteless. Waiter was clumsy, and we ordered soup and they had no spoons, gave us plastic spoons. Went in on a Friday night, the place was very empty and the staff was clearly unmanaged, hanging out at the bar, not waiting attentively on the very few tables there. Saw several tables get up and leave. They also don’t tell you they charge 18% service charge to all checks (we were 2 people, seated at the table in dining room not habachi grill) and were charged it. Saw who I assume is the manager yelling at an employee in the middle of the dining room for not having on uniform… save your money and go elsewhere Not worth $150 we paid. Will never go back.

    Not good service. Birthday occasion. Nothing special. Dad’s food came out after everyone’s hibachi meals. Drinks arrived slow. Had to ask about my Dad’s meal a couple of times. Just not a good experience if you are with a group and celebrating a birthday. The server was underage so did not know anything about the cocktails on the menu.

    Very typical hibachi dining experience. The owner, waiter, and chef did an amazing job accommodating my daughter’s sesame allergy and making sure our food was allergen-free.

    The servers were very attentive and checked in us frequently. We come here fairly regularly and the food is consistently really good. The noise on this night was pretty high but it was a Friday night and there were several birthday parties taking place. Overall we had an excellent dinner with both hibachi and sushi being ordered and a great night out. Will return again.

    The service and communication were subpar, and this detracted from the show by the samurai chef and our overall experience. Two of the waitstaff (one male, one female) seemed to be bickering over which would seat us and take our order when we arrived. The man escorted us to a counter where a large group (8 diners) were already seated and just placing their orders, even though there were other counters/grills with fewer other diners in parties that already had their food. Although he took our orders and delivered drinks promptly, we then waited 45 minutes before our salads were served & the chef came to our grill. Overall, this was disappointing for a group of business people in town for a convention and hoping to have a memorable night out together.

    We made a reservation at one location and went to the other location by mistake. We attempted to call ahead to explain the mixup but no one answered the phone. When we arrived no one greeted us for at-least 3 minutes. Once someone arrived we were told they didn’t have access to the reservations anyway and so there would be a wait. We asked to just be seated in the dining area as the hibachi experience wasn’t our priority, our hunger was. Instead we were sat at a hibachi table and told a cook would be with us shortly. It took more than 15 minutes for our waitress to get to us who I think doubled as the bartender. I must say for the amount of people there and staff I saw, I don’t understand the feeling of them being “understaffed”. More just disorganized. We let our server know, after having to find her and flag her down, that we had no interest in a live hibachi chef and would instead prefer for our food to just come from the kitchen. She assured us that this would be quicker. We finally received our salad and soup after sitting for 30 plus minutes. Another 30 minutes goes by and we finally get our food, ALL FOR IT TO BE COLD. We immediately asked for boxes and paid. Due to the manager leaving with no one else “in charge” they could only provide a 15% discount. Very disappointed in this restaurant’s lack of organization and management.

    New waitress. Didn’t know the menu. Had to correct the bill for happy hour prices. One item tasted off. Didn’t comp. Another couple at the table got served wrong items. Had to bicker to fix their bill. Overall, food was good, but there are plenty of other hibachi joints.

    We used to love this place but the cook came out and didn’t have any sauces for the table, didn’t make enough rice, and did absolutely no tricks which is the main reason for us to take our kiddos. The food wasn’t very good either. So sad.

    My young son and I had a grill to ourselves and a most enjoyable chef. He was very chatty and entertaining, and made a fantastic meal for both of us. We arrived at 1645 and it was quiet. By 1730, it was hopping. Service was excellent all around

    The service was abysmal. Their reservation system doesn’t account for hibachi tables vs regular, so we waited 40 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. They also did not have enough hibachi chefs so we had to wait 25 minutes for one to become available to get our food. 2.5 hours later we were tired and annoyed

    Horrible!!! The chef was old and he had no clue! He didn’t portion correctly and didn’t give everyone what they ordered. He even forgot to give one customer rice and scooped some off my own husbands plate to give to someone else. Like whhhhaaaaaaaaa??!!!!!! The food wasn’t even tasty! It had no taste and he had no clue what he was doing! Meanwhile, other tables were having fun and seemed to be enjoying their food! We will NOT be back!! Then when we told the lady I guess she was in charge, they didn’t even comp us!

    Service was terrible. Party of 4 and food came out at 5 different times. Some of us were finished before everyone got their food. Food was so-so but the prices are high. Server was hard to find and the place seemed disorganized. Very disappointing meal.

    Our orders were all wrong, multiple times, service was beyond slow, we were overcharged, it took 20 min to get the check, and the hibachi cook was NOT entertaining (the other cooks were much more interactive and fun to watch).

    Made a same day reservation for 2. We were confused at first because the outside said “Sumo Japanese Restaurant” but it was the same place. We ended up getting a private show for two because of two larger parties that sat around us. Food was delicious and great value for volume of food. The waitstaff seemed very stressed and had some communication issues with each other. It took a while for us to get our check. Overall the food was good and we would return.
