OMG, what a find! Delicious Italian/LatAm-influenced food, super staff and great edge-of-City location. We’ll definitely be back!
Appalling evening. Valentines night special set menu. Took 45 minutes (with 2nd course) before being told drink we had ordered was not available. Wanted a menu to check what we had been served because felt very insubstantial, but waitress was unable to do this. Got my phone at the end of the meal and realised we had completely missed out on the main course. Ruined a special evening out. The service was attrocious and though not many covers they seemed to be completely out of control
Amazing dinner with high quality food and friendly service
I will be back for sure
Lovely hidden gem.
Really good restaurant. The first time I was there. Will use again
The food was excellent as was the wine. When people find out about this place it will be packed. Short walk from east algate so easy to get to as well. Definitely will go here when next in town.
Superb food. Fantastic Italian wine list. Great place.
Chef creates a delicious, immensely satisfying meal (rabbit with lentils), the sommelier proposes a unique wine (character without overpowering the food, a Friuli red), a professional staff, an unpretentious setting - like dining in Italy, where the customer is welcomed as more important than the place.
A fantastic discovery in City Aldgate / Whitechapel.
Great dinner in a very nice venue. Food was fantastic (try the Ravioli Explosion). Thank you to Mr Andrea, a great host
The honey smudged duck was exquisite and the hand made pasta was pure perfection. Would definitely go back!
Food was lovely, a really nice place hide in Algate area. Fully recommended if you like proper Italian food.
The restaurant is quite narrow at first but opens out and the back. It appears to be a wine shop too which adds to the appeal of the place but I think it's too well lit. Service was ok, but I did have to ask for the bill twice. Food was a little too fancy for my taste with over complicated plate dressing and it's certainly too expensive in my opinion (wine too). You might like it though.
We had a very nice evening at Satyrio - The food is high class with a twist around the Italian kitchen.
Satyrio "signature" pasta where we got the explosion in the mouths was the best pasta I ever had tried.
The beef and duck and the small potato's was also very good. Wine perfect
There was only one thing there could have been better and that the Pasta Carbonada. I think the very good cook David should re-think this : For my taste to salty, to big pasta( Should be spagetti) to heavy and thick sauce. But I will visit this grate place again.
The best Italian food I have ever had. Great taste, excellent quality and I enjoyed every bit of it.
In London for business and solo I read the reviews and was really looking forward to a fantastic authentic Italian meal. The three scallops wrapped in ham were unappealing visually as they were flabby not crispy on a bed of cauliflower purée, all very white. Followed by an uninspiring ‘Italian hug’ of pasta stuffed with spinach and ricotta firmed into a spiral which tasted ok but looked odd and was a small portion. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay but they had none so was offered another wine which was mediocre. My bill came to £50 including service. Very disappointed in the food and the atmosphere wasn’t welcoming as a single diner.
Delicious food, unexpected bursts of flavours & a lovely atmosphere!
I was quite disappointed- small portions (especially given price) and very average pasta.
Outstanding food, attentive service with wide choice of excellent wines. No hesitation in recommending this hidden gem
Terrible service , food cold and our order was forgotten and had to wait an additional 20 minutes , table not ready when we arrived even though we booked
Fabulous food and wine. Our experience slightly marred by a very noisy table next to us but that's not down to the restaurant.
The food is excellent, carbonara and the mushroom ravioli were both fantastically flavoured and presented. The service was perfectly pleasant but unfortunately a little slow and confused. Very kindly we were offered free coffee to make up for the wait.
Small portions but very filling. Enjoyed it. Would recommend it to anyone.
It was a last minute booking, chosen beause it was close to home, had a good rating, we came just for dessert and a glass of good wine.
We arrived to a sign telling us they were closed, saw there were a couple of tables inside, so we entered, past a man who was the owner or manager who never acknowledged or even spoke to us, which I found strange and sonewhat rude. 2 floor staff on duty, both Italian found our booking and directed us to the rear of the restaurant where another 2 tables were.
It has recently been refurbished and looks well done. A wide variety of wines in display and some colourful artwork aroynd for sale.
We were offered full menu but I explained we just wanted dessert and a glass of wine each. This seemed to take our waitress by surprise and a she seemed a little bemused by it.
She returned with dessert menus and quickly took our order.
One down point is that the chefs and floor staff are very loud speaking in Italian and this I found very distracting.
Desserts were average, not bad but nothing special, wines were good not great.
Dark haired waitress had a worrying habit of rubbing her nose alot, it could be a nervous involuntary habit but watched her do it twice at the other two tables and again when she came to take our bill payment.
Maybe both floor staff are related to the owner but this would not be acceptable in any other restaurant or wine bar.
Bill for 2 desserts and 2 glasses of wine was £52.
I will choose better next time and go somewhere else.
Excellent food, service and staff. A little quiet shen we visited but still enjoyed our time there.
We had the lunch menu which was fantastic value for money, the food was delcious, the main was a bit on the luke warm side, but still very tasty, would go back just for the dessert. The service was friendly but a little slow, had to ask for a few things, like the dessert menu, the bill, and to order our food,. It was a lunch hour so unfortunately although I could easily have stayed the whole afternoon, I had to get back to work.
Great wine choice
Staff very knowledgable and friendly
I was at Satyrio during a holiday Withings my biyfriend. Very nice and good food.
The staff was very helpful. When we arrived we were given the choice of two tables. The one we chose needed to be cleaned and set first, and the lady did it fast. The food was very good and to some extent unusual for people coming from Denmark - a very nice experience. The only point where we could be a bit unsatisfed was the wine. We ordered a specific wine, which we know well. The waiter recommended another wine since the our choice was no longer available. I accepted the wine but while we were drinking it, it died in the glass - however we did not want to complain since I had said OK for it. A piece of advice: Be careful to select old wine.
But still: I would recommend the place anytime...!
Lovely as always. Thank you for the anniversary cocktails, and superb wine recommendation. Love the summer menu and totally recommend the duck and the waterfront pasta.
If you visit Satyrio, go for the pasta. It’s truly incredible. Some points of our dining were exceptional - others less so. Exceptional was the creamy, tangy, fresh gazpacho I enjoyed as a starter, so good it reminded me of hot summers in Spain. And the pasta is heavenly - Satyrio explosion is a plateful of dainty parcels, which I am wisely advised to eat in a single mouthful, to allow the earthy, mushroom explosion of juices in my mouth. A delight for the palate, sat on a bed of creamy Parmesan emulsion speckled with potent, aromatic truffle. Less good were the bread - in the London era of hot, homemade bread, a restaurant of Satyrio’s stature cannot be serving cold sliced bread. And dessert, a vanilla and coconut mousse, is cloyingly sweet, and served so cold the spoon cannot cut through it. Still - the pasta alone merits a visit. It’s not cheap, but it’ll be one of the best pastas you’ll try in London.
High quality, every plates was excellent, I will recommand this restaurant.
Outstanding little place, hidden away and pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and service. Would go again for sure :) they are changing the menu next week...
A real treat - imaginative food (definitely not your average Italian) served well. No wine list but knowledgable staff to suggest unusual wines. The antidote to boring City lunches.
Great food, great service and people who understand your needs.. easy walk from Liverpool Street and close Aldgate ..
This place is highly recommendable. Great food. Super presentation. Fantastic flavours.
Nice staff as well.
Fantastic as usual! Each friend we introduce to here vows to return and is blown away. Really looking forward to the new menu arriving soon!
Best Carbonara & Tiramisu in London.
The service, quality and experience is second to none
We chose the place because of the recommendation of various online sites and were massively disappointed. The waitresses who approached us reiterated that the place is focused on quality and not quantity of the food. Yes, we came because the food is supposedly good so what she told us is actually that we should not expect large portions. Ok, so we ordered a portion of bread and a portion of olives; the 7-olive portion (for £3!) was the first disappointment. We ordered scallops and pulpo for starters. Both came with nicely colored sauces which were absolutely tasteless. The raviolis, which we ordered next, was overly covered with cheese that made it hard to taste the raviolis themselves. The main dish, the trilogy, was OK, not more. We didn’t like the spices but that’s a personal subjective judgement.
I gave the place a 2 star rating because the presentation was original and commendable.
I came for the taste, and will not return to the place because of it.

Used for a business lunch, excellent friendly but professional service. Great food.
