Service was horrendous. We arrived around 630pm, maybe 5 or 6 tables were full. Waitress came over after 10ish mins, ran away mid order to deliver someone elses food. We ordered drinks, they took another 10 mins. Food order went in, 25 mins later she breezed by and nonchalantly mentioned to my husband that they did not have what he ordered. She then brought out everyone else's food, and his food finally arrived 25 mins later after we were all done eating. He asked for it to be boxed up, she left boxes and never even offered/did anything to make up for her and the kitchens mistake. Over $100 on a meal that was just bad all around. We just bought a house in town and will NOT be back. They need an overhaul of EVERYTHING if they hope to make it in the service industry.
Schuster's Tavern is like stepping into a time machine and revisiting the 1980's. Food, decor and atmosphere have not changed at all over the decades. They even had a lounge act who sang and played 80's rock tunes on an electric keyboard. We were one of 3 parties seated in the whole restaurant on a Friday night - ouch. Overall the service was friendly, the facility was clean, but the food and atmosphere were very dated. You could look at it as being a little sad and kitschy or roll with it like we did and enjoy the trip.
Very casual atmosphere but very expensive, particularly the specials. Food is good but not worth the high price. Waitress forgot to serve salad that I realized we paid for
