I'm going to chalk this up as a bad one time experience. The food was just ehh but the service was really not good. There were only five parties there while we were there. It took us 10 minutes to place a drink order. Staff seemed distracted and attending. There were french fries crushed up into the rug. The tables were not clean. Really missed out on some basic stuff. As BU employee, I'd like to be able to go here but would really hesitate to go again.
Food came OUT very late was cold. Can NOT serve cold food....the fries were not cooked and very cold, difficulty making drinks and ordering drinks.....
The ciabata steak and cheese was NO STEAK at all would have NEVER put it on a plate. very disappointing will NOT go back again!
We thought we were going to experience great food before we hit a concert at the House of Blues. The food here was mediocre at best. We won't be stopping back in here. The reviews were all 4 star, so we were expecting more.
Where do I begin? Busy night, concert at Fenway around the corner, so clearly understaffed. It took forever to be greeted once we were brought to our table, food took forever and was dropped off without silverware, two of our three entrees came out first to the point where those two people were eating slowly and were still half done with their dinner before my dinner came.
As far as the food went- the entree salad was decent, the cold turkey panini had to be repressed and came with what was clearly the bottom of the bag of potato chips, once my (presumably rushed) undercooked turkey tips arrived the plate was missing the salad it was supposed to come with and my sweet potato fries were mostly just tiny well-done partial fries. No one ever came to check in once the third entree arrived so I ate the smallest and most thoroughly cooked pieces of turkey and left the pink gummy pieces untouched.
If we hadn’t been in such a rush to get to the concert we would’ve brought more of these issues to someone’s attention but as we proactively handed our server our credit cards so we could leave asap, I nicely pointed out my undercooked and inedible meat and was told “sorry but there’s nothing I can do, remind us next time and we’ll give you a discount” ... oh trust me there will never be a next time.
Visited before a Fenway concert. The service was non-existent. We waited 30 min to see a server and over an hour to get any drinks or food. I had made a reservation weeks before and was still pushed to outside seating because “other diners were still sitting”. Service was awful even though there seemed to be few people at the restaurant. Once we got food it was good.
We arrived a few minutes early and were seated right away. It took 10-15 mins before the waiter acknowledged our presence and another 10 mins before he came to take our drink order. We were eating there because we were attending a show nearby later that evening. Once he finally came for our orders he was very hard to understand. The food started coming out and we quickly realized that my daughter did not have her meal. When we inquired the waiter said it would be 5 more minutes for a burger. It became clear very soon that he never placed her order as 15 mins passed before he came back without her meal. She asked if she could at least have the fries that come with her meal but that took another 10 mins or so. My daughter’s friend asked to speak to a manager about it. When he came over my daughters friend asked for her meal to be comped. The manager was extremely rude saying that they were very busy. Never once did they apologize for her missing meal. We will never eat at this place again and wish I could have given them negative numbers for a score. We realize that the area was busy due to the show but had they been honest and apologetic about her missing meal we would have been reasonable.
Came upon this place by accident and was pleasantly surprised. The menu was huge, food was good and our waitress was so helpful and attentive.
Great for before Red Sox game! Good food and quick service!
Their website said that there was trivia on a given night, we brought a bunch of friends there for trivia and then there was no trivia and they had no idea what we were talking about when we asked. It was very disappointing. We would have stayed and maybe even returned if there had been trivia, and we wouldn't have been as upset about it if the website hadn't been wrong (we triple checked). I would recommend that in the future they keep the website up to date so as not to disappoint and mislead patrons!
Overall the food was great and the Pear Cosmo was delightful. Our waiter seemed pretty new still and a little inexperienced, but courteous.
The gnocchi plate was too small
Food was OK, but for an empty restaurant, seemed to take a while to come out. Turkey & Brie sandwich was missing brie, Cuban Panini was OK, but nothing I'd make an effort to come back for.
We ate outside because there was a party inside with an MC on a speaker. Their food was good but we were not clear when we ordered drinks that they don’t have a full bar. It is a liqueur bar. 😕 Our server was particularly attentive. 🤗
There was a paint night and the speaker used a microphone which added to the noise level. The wait staff was a bit understaffed, but pleasant. Would come again before going to a Sox game.
The service was excellent. She was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. It could have been a little cleaner. The benches had lots of crumbs, but it was busy right before a red Sox game.
Great for before Sox Game!
Good food nut we hit a bad service day or a poor waitress. Great menu and fun ambiance. But we waited a really long time for our waitress to bring the check. There was only 1 or 2 other tables eating when we were looking around for the check. After 15 minutes of trying to get someone’s attention, we joked that we would have to get up to leave and perhaps our waitress would then appear. We finally stood up and had to walk over to the bar to ask for the check. The place was empty at that time so I don’t get the delay. This was a Wednesday- we had 12:15 reservation and we were done eating at 1:30pm. Took until 2pm before we could pay and leave. Waitress took quite some time to take our order as well- seems like she was covering the patio as well . Perhaps they were short staffed that day, and slightly busy when we arrived. But it was empty by the time we finished. no excuse for us to have to wait so long and have to walk around to get our check. Love the food and everything else about Scoozi. But they need more waitstaff.
We like Scoozi for casual dining before a Red Sox game, it’s not as crazy as the usual restaurants near the park. The food is very very good, and a good value.
The service, however, is very “young” and seems to turn over repeatedly, leading to inexperienced waitstaff and mistakes.
Good food and within walking distance of Fenway Park.
Great food, fast and thoughtful service, and really good prices for so close to kenmore/fenway.
Never disappoints. A quiet gem near the ballpark.
We dined here after a Sox game. Tables were dirty, and the waitstaff seemed confused. One of our orders was wrong, and another was also messed up. Food was decent, as were the drinks. Good place to head to after a game as it is a bit out of the way... but not sure we’d seek it out again.
Took a while to get our food but quality & value were pretty good
My husband and two adult daughters were pressed to make last minute dinner reservations on a busy weekend of graduation Saturday evening. Daughters had pasta dishes, gnocchi mushroom a bit rich yet was very good. The chicken penne pasta was good with lots of chicken. Good portion size. We ordered a veggie pizza which was very good. Light on the sauce as we like it. Service was not attentive enough asking if we wanted a second round of drinks. Otherwise a great choice and good value.
Very disappointing outing this time at Scoozi. We often dine or pick up light snack at Scoozi before heading to Fenway Park....great food, friendly fast service, and we'd rather spend our $$ at Scoozi, then at Fenway Park.
Hoping it is a better dining experience next time at Scoozi!!
I was shocked at how inexpensive this meal was. It was so delicious and beautiful intimate ambiance. Huge menu offered something for everyone and the unique cocktails were really fun and tasty. Highly recommend
Our table was a bit chilly by the door, but otherwise, the visit could not have been nicer. Thank you.
Great place! One of the best in the area! I will be returning.
Nothing fancy here, but overall a good place to eat before a game if you want to save a little dough. A fairly broad pub type menu with something for everyone. Some really good beers on tap. A couple of our mixed drinks came not quite as ordered. Service was very good, very attentive. Overall a good place to eat a burger and grab a beer with friends without feeling like your game attire is out of place.
Below average food and service. Alfredo sauce was really bland and service was poor.
What a nice place for dinner (or lunch, too, I would imagine). Good and interesting menu. Extremely thoughtful and excellent service (Jorge was out server). I had an excellent salad with avocado, mozzarella, and shrimp scampi and some very good tomato soup that tasted very fresh. My friend had spaghetti Bolognese which he thought tasted delicious though he wiched there were a little more meat in the sauce. But all in all, a very satisfying experience, and not overly crowded even on a Red Sox game night.
My husband and I ordered the steak frites. We were served steak tips and steak frites. Their error was a delicious surprise. The steak tips were outstanding. The pomegranate sangria was exceptional!!!!
We were happily surprised how good the food was, especially the Warm Calamari Salad and the Burrata appetizer. Looking forward to our next visit.
Very below average food. Got upcharged $3 for a swap of different french fries that cost the same amount on the menu. Wouldn't go back!
Despite our reservation, our party of 5 was seated at a table closest to the door with chilled breezes coming in everytime someone walked in. The service was poor, we had to remind him that we had no menus.
The food was OK.
The ambience was that of a campus restaurant.
Sat at the bar. Good bar food.
Kylie was our server and was amazing, we were a party of 12 and everything was spot on
The food is sub par. I ordered the chicken marsala over parmesean risoto. It was NOT anything like I've ever tasted...total blah. Found out that the risoto is made with cream, rice and parmesean cheese. The food is basic and the prices reflect it. Waitress was super nice.
Good food, excellent service, very good value. We enjoyed our dinner.
The pizza was the best and Jen our service was great!
