   Good was ok but not great. Foie gras lacked any foie gras flavor and had too much foam and the asparagus was too salty. Otherwise it was an underwhelming meal.

   I made an early (5:00PM) reservation because I was bringing my 9yo son, who requested a Michelin dining experience during our “mommy and me” vacation weekend. The entire staff were WONDERFUL, and the manager even gave my son a kitchen tour. He felt so special! The food, of course, was AMAZING, the wine pairings excellent, and the atmosphere inviting. Thank you to everyone! You made this experience extra-awesome for my lil dude :) 12/10 WOULD recommend!!

   This was our first Michelin-star restaurant and it could not have been a better experience. Amazing creations and excellent combinations of flavors. Highlights included the fois gras custard, the scallops, the lamb, and the wine pairings. Our server Alex was exceptional and explained everything we were eating and drinking to us in detail. Price point of around $200/person if doing dinner with wine pairings--but oh so worth it. Highly recommended.

    First the food, each course was 98% and above, except the crepe torte which was too dense and distracted from the perfect rhubarb sorbet. Second the service, it was perfunctory especially the deliverers they had their spiels and they talked over each other and the waiter. Awful. Our waiter also had his spiel down pat but answered all our questions when asked. He was not attentive though. For course 3 he poured our wine and then there was the longest pause of the night, the dish just didn’t come on time as the rest of the courses had. Then when he noticed I had emptied my glass, he snarled here’s a sip but we must save some for the rest. Not 1 star service at all. In the end we are still raving about each course, laughing at the service and ruing that we won’t return or recommend others to.

    It might be a controversial opinion but after being to about 5 Michelin-star restaurants in Chicago Sepia is the only one I returned to. The balance between novelty and the taste of the food is beyond great. A few points that I love about it: you get to pick a dish in every course, it’s doable to make a reservation, casual dress code.

    Simply exceptional. Each course better than the next. So well prepared and you can tell how much time, effort and thought is put into each course. Timing of dishes were excellent and such a joy to have service that know the menu and wine list so well.

    The food was very good! The first two courses, outstanding. The third…the sirloin was terribly chewy and tough. The sauce and carrots were good, though! My dessert was flavorless but my husband’s was outstanding. I did the wine pairing, which was very good. So, all in all, I was glad we went there but will probably not recommit to people visiting out of town.

    Sepia was a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend it for date nights or special occasions. The food was terrific, and the cocktails were top-notch. It is a very relaxed vibe...you do not feel rushed and will not be hungry after the four-course meal. The wait staff and bartender were great. Definitely go to this restaurant for a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

    Wonderful meal. First impression is that it’s a bit rustic but the food is decedent. Caviar appetizer is a must and the dashi butter makes the whole dish. Kanpachi crudo was very good with the perfect level of acid to brighten the dish. Radishes were the perfect topping to add some crunch too. The sablefish was good but had some bones in it. Still it had great miso flavor and was cooked perfectly The lamb loin was the best dish I’ve had all year and the biryani sauce was incredible. So rich and well spiced. Lastly the chocolate with dulche de leche was very good and nice balance of richness with some bitter. Overall I was very happy with the food and the service was perfectly attentive and well paced. Justin was my server and deserves the credit for a great experience.

    Went for Mother’s Day brunch. Food was excellent and service was professional and tolerant of our not so well bahaved kids (one of those days). Very much appreciated the lower pricing for kids even though they seemed to get the same amount of food as the adults.

    Probably our 5th time at Sepia. Another great experience. We will be back! Not the restaurants fault but there were two tables with babies and toddlers that were loud which takes away the fine dining experience.

    Dinner ran 2.5 hours for a 4 course meal, waitress stopped coming to the table half way through. Was not particularly busy but service was very slow. Would recommend Proxi next door but not Sepia.

    Sepia is fantastic! I loved everything in the tasting menu. Each recipe is unique and very delicious. It is definitely worth what we paid for. It was an awesome Michelin experience for us at a relatively affordable price. I am glad I chose to celebrate a special occasion there. My sister and I loved it. Surely deserves a detour! :)

    The staff was not helpful at all while choosing what to order, no description of the food was provided when it was taken to my table. The drink I ordered, besides not being drinkable (it was 95% crushed ice) came to my table when the first dish was already there; the wine I ordered came only after I asked for it. In few words, I had the feeling to be a not welcome guest since I was alone; the very moment I put down the spoon of the desert the bill was on the table. A Michelin star restaurant should follow different guidelines, no matter whether it is in the USA or in Europe

    Had a lovely birthday dinner here, our server Erin was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic, exactly what you would expect from a michelin star restaurant. My only regret was not coming here sooner!
