The only restaurant in San Juan County with this cuisine. For Lopez it has the most exotic food. The quality of the noodle and other dishes are comparable to what I’ve experienced in Portland. Josh is always borrowing ideas from his travels and experimenting, adding new dishes (and dropping a few). Wherever possible he sources locally.
Summertime is great, eating at tables outdoors. The inside seating is limited and cozy, but a great on a cold and rainy day.
The place was much smaller than expected, so the overall feel much quite intimate and personal which was wonderful. Reservations definitely recommended, saw many people without dinner reservations turned away because of limited seating and staff.
Delicious food centered the chef's homemade fermented veggies and kimchi, fresh-made noodles, and island-grown produce and meat. The menu and specials are always changing to show case the season's latest offerings from around the San Juans. There is legitimate care put into and pride taken in each dish they serve. Great beer selection, too. If you're heading to Lopez, do not miss it.

This place is not to be missed while on Lopez. Totally from scratch bone broth for the Ramen. Truly amazing flavors in both dishes we had - the smoked chicken in the ramen was life-changing. Homemade kimchi is the best I’ve ever had - again, nailed it on the flavors - not overly spiced. Very tiny spot with plenty of seating outside, a lot of care is put into each dish, so it can take time for your food to be made. Definitely recommend making a reservation. Options for those with dietary restrictions.

This was my favorite meal on Lopez Island! We had the ramen, and it was awesome--amazing smoked pork, noodles, buttery greens, and kimchi that I will definitely be buying in bulk if he ever gets back to selling it! Owner was really friendly and personal with customers (even us tourists), despite being a one-man show. I'll definitely be designing some future SJ trips around his restaurant hours.
