Four of us went last night with high anticipation and excitement for the hyped fine dining and quality meal. The atmosphere is beautiful but to say the least all 4 of us were sadly disappointed at the service and food received. After being seated we waited probably a good 15mins before drinks were ordered, then we waited probably another 15 just to get them. We then order chicken wings, and onion rings which were good. Soup was eh ok, salad was horrible. It tasted like grass and supposedly there was dressing on it but none of us could tell. For our meals we had strip steaks, ribeyes and shrimp scampi. veggies and startch are separate/cost which is normally included in any meals I've had.
So your paying approximately $20-30 just for your piece of meat which was very gritty/fatty. Should have ordered a step over what i normally like as far as how its cooked. Id say if you like medium rare, order medium, if you like medium, order medium well. the veggie mix what was all cauliflower in a tiny little dipping sauce bowl for $8! Once we got our meal, I ordered a draft drink to have with it, I was finished with my meal before my drank arrived. Mind you the place was not even close to being packed. We had a total of 6 drinks and alot of food uneaten with nearly a $400 bill! For people who don't get out much we look forward to a fine dining, good meal when we can especially locally. We received less than that last night unfortunately. Will not try it again.
Wonderful service! Our food was excellent as well. A bit pricey
Outstanding sunset dinner. Great outside dining experience. Great food and service!
Excellent food and a nice dining room. Everything we had was delicious. Would definitely return!
So glad your open again! Ben the restaurant manager does an amazing job making everything feel welcome! Great value for what you get.
Allergy friendly fine dining. They have excellent food and they will make it the way you prefer. Food prices vary so it can fit most budgets. I will definitely go back!
Second time back here and entrees were well prepared (salmon, pasta primavera, chicken francaise and a burger) the crab cake app was the low point but overall a great experience, especially for the area. Servers have a little way to go but but they are super friendly, work hard and don’t detract one bit from the dinner. Hope they have much success!
the new building is great and the staff is fantastic, as well as the food. would recommend for dinner, lunch or just a few drinks at the bar. great addition to the area! Many areas to eat, dining room, screen porches, patio. All are great. Dining room is a bit loud but in a fun way.
Tonight was a very good experience at Seymour’s!
Although we didn’t enjoy the salad, the huge appetizers and really tasty burgers, Reuben, and chicken sandwich were quite impressive. For the value, this place is hard to beat. Great restaurant overall. Thank you for a good time!
Fabulous new restaurant with lovely view, delicious food and well trained service staff.
We have spent only one week every year in the area on Lake George and eat out all the time. Most of the restaurants are unpretentious, serving decent, unremarkable food at reasonable prices. This new restaurant is on the Ticonderoga Country Club. We ate at the old clubhouse every year until a fire destroyed the place 2-3 years ago. The operators of that restaurant relocated just down the road.
This is a new building with new operators. The view of the golf course is still a highlight but the dining room seems designed for flexibility rather than beauty; nice, but not as nice as it could be. The menu aims higher than the typical place in the area, but falls short in execution. I’m not a fan of charging for bread, but I have no issue with it if justified by really special bread. A complete failure here; $7 for a small quantity of very pedestrian bread surrounded by two types of flavored butter in glass crocks. The butter was just out of the fridge and too hard to spread. The only good thing is that the small quantity is adequate; you won’t want to fill up on this weak attempt.
We had a French onion soup and shrimp and grits as appetizers. The soup was a small portion for $10 and nothing special at all. The shrimp and grits ($16) would have been okay but it arrived lukewarm and the shrimp were slightly undercooked.
The short ribs were overpriced ($29) and underwhelming. I love short ribs and order it all the time. These are New York City prices and above, but I can’t recall having it anywhere, at any price that weren’t better than this dish. The mushroom pasta was high priced and bland.
Service was attentive but amateurish; it was the best part of this meal and that is faint praise.
I’m not sure why the ownership, management, and chef think that their product justifies Saratoga prices, but they are wrong.
We arrived for our reservation on time at 6:45 and were greeted by a friendly staff and seated at our table. The temperature of the room was very cold. The acoustics of the room were so bad that we couldn't hear the conversation at our table but could clearly hear the conversation at the other side of the room. We were served beverages and nothing else arrived at our table for over an hour. The the sides were cold and the steak was not seasoned properly or cooked as requested and was barely warm. The order of macaroni and cheese arrived without the added chicken. We couldn't wait to get out of there.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration sitting in the screened porch of Seymour’s. The food was delicious! The view unbeatable, and the service, though there were a few kinks was solid in light of the fact they just opened. Each Seymour’s employee was delightful and worked very hard to correct any hiccups. We will definitely be back.
Seymours was great. The only downside was the noise level. Could use some soundproofing.
It was very noisy in the dining room. I am hearing challenged but the two ladies with me are not and they also mentioned (complained) about it. Also the window design could have been better in that the center bar blocks a major part of the view of the mountains but all in all it was very good. I will be returning in the near future.
Great service and great atmosphere. We will be back!
The Key Lime Pie Bread Pudding was outstanding!! Dinner was delicious, and the staff super friendly. Loved it!
Excellent casual dining experience. Craft cocktails and homemade strawberry basil ice cream were soooo good.
Service and food was great - the new club is beautiful. 5 stars
Very disappointed in the entree. I had the salmon which was slightly under cooked and had no flavor. There was hardly any rice pilaf which was practically raw. Very little veggies. The crepe brûlée was very good.
Food was superb. Service friendly and responsive. Beautiful new restaurant with mountain views.
Delicious food, beautifully desingned
Excellent service and food was amazing. We were kindly greeted when we arrived and kind and professional service throughout our visit. Fantastic dinners, our party of six enjoyed it all. Great job opening night! Very happy to have top shelf service in our own backyard!
