Shahi

Shahi has delicious food and cheerful servers. It was not crowded, which was wonderful, because we could hear each other well. I want you to know about this place so it can stay open, and I can return. It is a little out of the way, but so conveniently located .
Try it: you will not be disappointed.
We all loved it!
Excellent Indian food. I highly recommend this restaurant and the location is perfect.
Wow! Loved our experience here. Our waiter and other staff were attentive and efficient. The chicken krahi was probably the best I've ever had - so complex, spicy, and full of flavor. We will definitely be back!
Awesome. Great food!
We made reservations for their opening time and it was our crew of 7 and another table of 2, so not busy at all. Service was excellent, food was delicious (garlic naan...nomnomnom).
The food at Shahi is delicious....we have eaten there many times and never been disappointed.
Great food and great service.
Nice place and service was good. Paper on the tables was not a good thing. If you want to make it elegant, white butcher paper is not the way to go.
Food had a good flavor, but was over cooked and that made the food very dry. The rice and the nanna bread was outstanding.
We enjoyed our meal and the ambience. The portions were more than sufficient for the price; a very good value for good food. We will return.
Great Indian food- Wed is 1/2 price bottles of wine, making dinner very reasonable. We’ve been here a few times & everything we’ve had is consistently good. The order of na’an is huge & yummy. We usually get paneer dishes, there’s a lot of choice.
Absolutely delicious food! Best garlic naan and Korma in town. Our group highly recommends this restaurant!
Delicious indian with huge portions. Prices were a little higher than I would have liked but if you feel like splurging, this is a great place to do it.
We had a great time! It was our first visit and we got sat down right away. We tried the non-vegetarian dinner for two with the combination appetizer platter and learned so much about the food. Medium might have been a bit too spicy for us, but it was still a great, flavorful experience.
Waitress only came to see us twice. Manager had to fill our drink glasses. Then she said “I don’t even eat Indian food that much.” Sounds like time to get a new wait staff.
Great food and service. Definitely coming back next time we are in Omaha.
The decor and ambience is ok. The bathrooms downstairs had an awful smell. It was a really bad sewage smell.
Quite possibly the best Indian food I've ever had. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend for delicious Indian food. I ordered the butter chicken and naan. The food was delicious and the portions were large (perfect to take home and reheat the next day). The wait staff was friendly and gave good recommendations for what to order.
We now have eaten here several times and have tried a number of different foods - - all have been delicious! Highly recommend the Naan!
Only ones in the restaurant and STILL received poor service.
Not sure how management can operate successfully with that attitude toward customers.
Food is good.
My wife and I went for a date night and enjoyed it. We had a vegetable samosa to start; my wife got Chicken Madras and I got Chicken Biryani, we shared a garlic naan. The server accidentally put my order in as Butter Chicken, but realized it at some point and checked with me and placed the correct order. They gave me both dishes and didn't charge me for the Butter Chicken.
We both ordered our food Spicy, which brings up the great "American Spicy or Indian Spicy" debate, but my wife's wasn't spicy at all, mine was a little bit. This is always hard to get right, so if you want it spicy, make sure you're clear you want it very spicy. While we'd have enjoyed a bit more kick, all three dishes were excellent. My Biryani was flavorful, and I loved the saffron rice.
They have a few Indian beers and some basic American beers, a medium sized wine list (which we skipped after overindulging the night before).
Overall, I enjoyed it. We had entirely too much food, left stuffed, and took home leftovers which reheated perfectly. Prices were great for what we got.
The decor was nice, a little less traditional than most Indian restaurants. However, for only being open 4 months, some elements were surprisingly worn looking or needing attention, but it didn't really detract much.
Very tasty Indian food. I had the chicken korma; my wife the shrimp korma. They were terrific. The breads were big, fresh and sprawling - a nice accompaniment. The service was first class and the decor is lovely. We are looking forward to going back. We tried it because of a review by Sarah Baker Hansen, the Omaha World-Herald food critic.
Really great meal - the malai kofta was one of the best I've had, and the butter chicken was fantastic. Hot, buttery naan to start the meal. We'll be back!
This is the first time my wife and I have eaten at Shahi Indian Grill. I had the Butter Chicken and my wife had Shrimp Korma. What I liked about both options is you had a choice between mild, medium or hot spice. The Butter Chicken was perfectly spiced for my taste and the same could be said for my wife's Shrimp Korma. My chicken was very tender as well. We ordered the Naan bread as a side and it was a perfect combination to the meal. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone that has a liking to Indian food.
A new restaurant downtown, this place hits the spot for great Indian food. Great ambiance, fast service, affordable pricing highlighted this visit.
Very possibly the best Naan (both the plain and the garlic) in town. Great food all around - we particularly enjoyed the chicken korma.
The food service was exceptional. The Shahi was quiet and very relaxing, it was easy to carry on a conversation with table mates.
This is a new restaurant that is just getting started. We had a Sunday brunch. The main menu was not available. There were only ten or fewer other patrons in the restaurant. The buffet offered a variety of items. The quality of the food is good, but not outstanding. The staff was very pleasant and the price was reasonable. There is plenty of competition in the Old Market area, so this restaurant will be hard pressed
to find a niche.
