Shame on the Moon
Chilled Hearts of Romaine, Tossed with Garlic Chips, Shredded Parmesan & Croutons
Blue Cheese Glaze & Cabernet Sauce, Shredded Potato Cake & Fresh Vegetables
We had a nice date night here recently. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Outdoor seating is comfortable and distanced. Drinks were nicely made and our food was tasty. Service was courteous and professional. Convenient location with ample, easy parking.
Great food and service. Excellent price.
What a wonderful dining experience we had. Thank you to all the Shame on the Moon staff, waiters, bartender, chef and all the members that made our evening special.
Pretty much the same menu as previously. Food great but ambience on what was previously the "garden room." is not great but better than can be expected for Pandemic times. All of the windows are open but the setting is more comfortable than being stuck in a parking lot. Exceptional service!
Great food, as always. Safe, comfortable, distanced tables.
Food was great. Waiter was so so. Gla
We had a nice dinner that evening. The service was excellent and I felt welcome there. The menu choices were solid but I have to say that everything tasted like it needed added salt or flavor. I was happy with the place and would return and recommend it to others. It is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Palm Springs.
Really enjoyed meeting Server, Peter DiBenedetto
SHAME on the Moon has seen better days. Food was God awful. No one at the table could eat more than bite, it was that disgusting. Waiter never came back to check on us until very end. And was abrasive and belligerent on top of all this. Manager was worse. Time to put Shame on the Moon out to pasture.
We have loved this place since the first time we visited in 1997. Dinner here is always a highlight of our stay in PS. Robert was the perfect host. We are so thankful to still have this fine restaurant to enjoy.
Poor quality food and mediocre service, at best. Boring. Felt sad because it used to be so good
Always consistently good, food and cocktails were great as expected.
Never disappointed. We have eaten at Shame on the Moon every year for 15 years. Outstanding food and service. A hidden gem and locals favorite. Rack of Lamb was second to none. Can't go wrong.
The three of us had totally different dishes one rack of lamb, that was raved about, I had the veal scallopini, and the third person had pasta with grilled shrimp. All rec'd rave reviews! The waiter was great and the cocktails were outstanding.
I love to cook so we don't eat out often, but it was a birthday, and election celebration, we were really happy that we chose Shame on the Moon!
The service was fabulous and the food was excellent as usual.
My wife and I had dinner twice at Shame on the Moon while vacationing in Palm Desert. Shame on the Moon is one of our favorite places and we were not disappointed these two times either. Food, drinks, service were excellent. We will be back during our next visit.
Due to Covid dining is only allowed in the garden room with the windows open which provide some decent ventilation. The place was rather empty and therefore social distancing was not difficult. Wait staff and guests were all wearing masks and were respectful of each other. Although Covid changed the experience it was still a very enjoyable one.
We were visiting the area & decided to try this restaurant for dinner on Halloween, thinking it might be a fun place because of its name. It was not very busy and overall fairly boring. Food was good but nothing interesting. Service was good, but not above average.
The noise level was influenced by the fact that the windows were open due to the requirement for outdoor seating.
Under the circumstances eating out is at the moment your restaurant did all the right things and we all felt very comfortable.
Terrific restaurant that harkens to the past of fine dining but is still very current.
Great service and ambiance under challenging circumstances. But this great old icon desert restaurant really needs a menu overall and perhaps a new chef. The beure blanc wasabi sauce on the Mahi special was heavy and had no “bite” as you would expect from wasabi. The salmon was over wrought, and the liver and onions was undercooked.
This place has many fond memories for me and I want to love it, but the menu needs a fresh look. I will say the house salad was delicious - a great value for an included side salad.
What a great find.... our friends told us about this restaurant. Excellent food, great service. A little noisy but that was because they had just been required to close their indoor dining and we were in an enclosed patio. I had a delicious, huge shrimp cocktail and crab cakes. Born were exceptional. The crab cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. They had a bernnaise type sauce in them and a tasty cucumber salad. My husband had the filet and loved it too. Leslie was our sever and she was engaging and fun. The person serving the water was so welcoming too. We will be back next time we come to the desert. The indoors looks beautiful. Maybe someday.......
We have been to Shame many times and have always been pleased with the food and service. However, this time we were not.
Had a delicious meal. Veal meatloaf was excellent. The peanut butter pie at the end was beyond belief!
Our service was outstanding too!
Love the liver and onions. My fave.
We were seated on time but in the 'cheap seats' in back. There was plenty of space to place us in the main, more intimate dining room. The food was lackluster at best and our server was about as beige as they come. Our water person had more personality. Considering it was a planned anniversary dinner I'd expected more. Previous dinners had been marvelous with a fantastic server, nice ambiance and a much better table. It may be that we've had our last meal with Shame on the Moon.
Not quite the same due to COVID-19 requirements. New waitstaff not on their toes like the old timer waiters who had been there for years. Food was decent. Disappointed that no gazpacho was in the menu. One of the best soups. Should be on the menu year round. We’ll be back as we have for the last 30 years.
Excellent food, welcoming staff, prompt, efficient and accurate wait staff. Good prices, generous drinks! Excellent experience.
The service was excellent. The food was delicious. We had a lovely meal. The veal meatloaf was very tasty.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions there were probably a maximum of only 10 tables occupied on 10/15/2020. The menu was modified so there were only a dozen choices. Our meal was outstanding and the service was the best as usual.
We love Shame on the Moon and have been coming for years! It’s our fave. Thank you for always giving us great service and yummy food! Xo
Fourth time dining at this restaurant and it’s always wonderful! Food excellent, the service fabulous!
Our table was ready when we arrived. The paper menus were dropped on the table and no specials were discussed. We did hear the specials being announced to other diners. The wine list was good, but the dinner selections were limited. However, I don't blame them with the current guidelines.
The food and service were good. Not as good as I remember from before, but I believe that has to do more with Covid issues.
We enjoyed our dinner.
The wife had the filet mignon, I had the rack of lamb, both were cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the shame on the moon is one of the best
Very attentive staff and nice ambience!
Love the table distancing in the patio area....
Not comfortable with their very lax Covid protections. Won’t return unless they have true outdoor dining by converting the parking lot, for example. Staff should have face shields and we didn’t need 5 different staff coming to our table, sometimes multiple staff at the table at the same time. That’s just nuts.
First time there. Enjoyed the experience
We have consistently been very disappointed with their policy of not permitting separate checks at the table. Many people prefer to order additional food and drinks but feel limited when dining with people who don’t.
We love Shame on the Moon! We try to go every time we're in the area. The Cosmos are to die for! And, they did an excellent job adhering to COVID protocols. Everything felt very, very safe. Highly recommend.
It was wonderful to be able to enjoy a wonderful meal and excellent service at Shame on the Moon. They never disappoint!
