Shift Restaurant and Bar
Great food, great service, WONDERFUL entertainment by Real Live Humans. We love the atmosphere at Shift, and our friends really did too. We appreciate being able to make reservations, and there was a perfect food option for everyone. We will be back!
It was good food, with good service in a good atmosphere at a reasonable price. The dinning area was a bit cold.
Always delicious and great service! We tried the Southwest Chicken salad and Salmon special 👍
Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I also really appreciate Shift’s accommodations for food allergies. It’s hard for me to eat out at times, but they have a good amount of options.
Amazing food . What a gem.
Outstanding service and the food was absolutely fabulous. We cannot wait to go back and try the fresh hot pretzels.
Enjoyed the restaurant. The music (band) was a little too loud for conversation.
Took the family for Sunday brunch we all enjoyed the food and the service.
Our server was good, although she was super busy! The food was tasty and prices were totally reasonable! The atmosphere was upbeat and fun. “Real Live Humans” was the live entertainment and they were great! A slice of hip right in the middle of Bright! We will be back!
This was my first time at The Shift, and I will not be going back. The food was overpriced, dry and flavorless. It arrived in shifts. There were 6 people in our party, and two people received their food, then 10 minutes later 3 more people received their food, and 15 minutes later someone came and said they were sorry that the other person's food hadn't arrived at all. They had ordered a hamburger. Of the six meals, one was decent but very expensive (the buffet), three were just average, one was below average and one was very good. The waitress did bring us a plastic, beer pitcher of water early on, because it was so busy. The manager did give the one person complimentary meal tickets, because she didn't get her meal until we were all done eating. The noise was so loud that I could barely hear the person beside me. I expected so much more, and was very disappointed with the entire experience.
The second Friday of the month is prine rim buffet and the forth Friday of the month is a sea food buffet with crab legs. Very attentive service, and exelent food.
Cam e in just past the lunch rush and it was empty, so we received quick service. We had an arrangement of a couple of appetizers with main courses including a salad, grilled chicken, burger, and a steak. The food was excellent. A big plus for me was their selection of spirits, specifically a bottle of Eagle Rare Bourbon, that was absolutely fantastic. I will definitely be coming back for the bourbon and the food.
Enjoyed the Sunday brunch very much. Food was fresh and hot and they were right on top of keeping the serving trays full. Omelet and waffle stations were a nice touch.
Modern venue with some outdoor seating, very good service and competitive prices
My cousins were in town for the weekend so we thought we’d try Shift for brunch. It was easy to reserve a table & the hostess greeted us with a smile. This was our first time eating brunch here & it did not disappoint! Drinks were reasonably priced & delicious. The food was the star though. A waffle station, & an omelette station! Plus buffet style eggs, ham, bacon, potatoes, fruit cobbler, etc.The meal was awesome!! We will definitely be back.
Good service and food. Pleasing atmosphere, tables are adequately spaced so you’re not on top of other parties. Will definitely be back.
Our last few times at Shift have not been the best. Service is slow.
Shift definitely did not disappoint on Mother’s Day...they were very crowded and busy, and there was a line for the buffet, but the food and service was so good that we didn’t mind. I think they did a great job handling the craziness, and we will be back for both other brunch-type holidays, as well as for lunch, dinner and drinks. Kudos Shift!
We visited on a very busy day and it seemed like the serving staff and the kitchen were overwhelmed. It was a buffet and some of the items were out and were never replenished. It was very crowded and extremely noisy. All of the food we had was decent but the server did a poor job. Didn't even greet us just asked how many people were eating and then left. Also the machines they use to ring in orders is ponderous and she never looked at us. Just punched orders into the machine.
Great food and service every time we go to Shift. Great atmosphere for any occasion.
Excellent brunch, with good service. We were there at 9:30 and it wasn't crowded at all. Our server (Jenna) was very attentive without being over-bearing. Buffet options were good, and the dessert table was stocked with plenty of options. Only suggestion I would make would be to have a few more non-breakfast items on the buffet.
Food was fresh and good and it is nice to have more local restaurants/no chains however the ambience / seating / furniture did not match what I call dining out.....regardless of the want for an upscale casual and retro attempt atmosphere....nobody wants to sit on cafeteria/banquet table and chairs when your eating your 39/40$ steak dinner and 12$ cocktails. I travel all over the USA and most recently Atlanta and LA - my recommendation is add a little more quaintness to the open floor dining and do an area review of common pricing/menu items to "somewhat" be competitive....its good to up the scale but you need to deliver the WOW!
Next time will request the bar side! But the food was excellent but like the atmosphere better on the bar side!
The food was great and they were very accommodating for dietary needs! Would definitely recommend and will be going back soon.
Went for dinner with kids on trivia night. Food was very good, trivia was fun. Service was excellent. Only issue was my son's chicken tenders seemed a little over-fried. Otherwise it was fun, we will go back.
My family dined with shift tonight to also participate in Star Wars trivia night. What a great addition to the dining experience!. I think there were 10 groups participating in this event and everyone had a great time! The food was outstanding as always. I had the salad with wild salmon, my husband had the burger special one of my boys had the famous street tacos and my other boys had burgers and broccoli. Jenna was our server and she was the best! We were all extremely satisfied. We will be back!
This is a pleasant neighborhood restaurant. Food and service were good.
Great food and service for even our decent size group of 7. Highly recommend!
We only had beer & the selection was good, but more beer is always better. Our appetizers were ok. We had the candied bacon, which I thought was good. My wife, not so much. Not crispy enough, & not enough “candy” flavoring. Our friends had the pretzel, which was very good, but instead of coming out on the pretzel stand, or whatever it’s called, it came out on s plate. No biggie though. Our entrees we’re pretty good. The service was slow, our waitress was nice though. I think they were too busy & understaffed. I will definitely go back, but might wait a few weeks to let them get some bugs worked out.
Food was delicious, service was excellent, and having a live band for entertainment was awesome! It was a little noisy but overall it was a very good dining experience. Thanks.
Delicious Reuben, burgers and fish! Great place to meet up with friends.
So glad this restaurant was on open table
There were eight of us dining and all of our meals were outstanding. I had the fillet that was amazing!!..cooked perfectly to my medium temperature request. Three of my friends had the codfish special that was unbelievably delicious. There was also a scallop special that was served over a Parmesan risotto that we all tried and it was absolutely phenomenal. I love all the healthy side options that are available! I had the steamed broccoli and a house salad. The biggest rave at the table though was the fresh cut fries. And to top that off, the atmosphere is wonderful!!..updated Decour in a comfortable environment. We will be back!
This was our first visit to SHIFT. We went on a recommendation of a friend and we were pleasantly surprised!! This gives us another reason to take drives to and through Indiana.
Our street tacos were fabulous....good wine selection and beers were cold!
The chef personally came to our table at the end of our meal to see how everything tasted. So nice!
We will be back!
Food was good and delivered hot, salad was delivered right before the meal though. No time to eat it before the meal. Still very good.
We liked the atmosphere and decor but high ceilings made it really loud and echoey. Prices weren't too bad but think side dishes are high priced. Overall good food and long overdo for the area. So hard to find good food anywhere close by. Thanks for creating this new venue!👍
Meals were overpriced. Menu options were not enough. We had an appetizer and left. We planned on dinner but after the menu options and prices decided on going home and fixing frozen pizza.
Food was amazing as always
The restaurant was nice; comfortable with a homey, barn-style feel; but you do not get much value for your money. Menu is limited and has no vegetarian options, portions were small and bread/rolls were not available.
We had dinner here on New Years Day and have dined there before. The staff is so pleasant, and well trained. The menu is really good and has something for everyone. Our out of town guests were very impressed. We will be dining there often.
Shift is a really beautiful new restaurant oddly located in a town with one stoplight. As nice as it is, it doesn’t “fit” to me, but it’s a welcome change. We came for New Year’s Eve before the entertainment arrived so I can only comment on service and food. We made a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server was great, I’m so upset I can’t remember her name!! They had a photo booth area for cute New Years pics and decor on the tables.
Now for the bad. The wine was $11 a glass. I never pay that much when I go out to eat and the wine was the same stuff I would get anywhere else. I ordered a pretzel with beer cheese to split with people. That was pretty darn good! I ordered the mahi mahi street tacos with pineapple pico. Not even ranch dressing could save these. They were so disappointing but looked so good!! They were so dry and had no flavor. :/ these could easily have been fixed with a nice sauce of some kind but it was no bueno. The macaroni and cheese was not good either. None of us liked it. The Caesar Salad and the pretzel were the only enjoyable parts of the meal.
Someone else ordered the chicken tacos and she liked hers. My brother said the burger was pretty good. The prices are just insane for what you get. We all wanted a steak but with the $40 price tag none of us felt like breaking the bank for it.
It’s a cute place, but you have to lower the prices. We needed something different than wings or pizza out here, and I think most people are grateful for having more choices, but this is Bright Indiana, not New York.
