We had no advance warning it is closed. Luckily there was another restaurant down the road. Take it off your site

booked for 10 people for my hen do and despite having a reservation reminder the day before when we got there it was closed.. Ruined the night! Extremely disappointed by both shimla pinks and open table. Will never use site again.

I booked here for my partner's birthday on a weekend away in Birmingham. I chose the restaurant based on good reviews and the stylish photographs. Upon arrival I was not disappointing, the restaurant looked great and the staff were very accommodating in making my partner a cocktail which wasn't on the menu. Unfortunately this was where the positives end. The food was served worryingly quickly but we kept an open mind. We ordered three different dishes to share and a peshwari naan. two of the three dishes lacked any flavour and one was incredibly spicy but didn't actually taste of much. The peshwari naan was also very flavourless and oily, I wouldn't have known it was a peshwari if I hadn't have pulled it apart to check it had some filling. Unfortunately we won't return to or recommend this restaurant which is a shame because it does look beautiful.

Lovely food, great service had a great meal decor is beautiful. Fantastic for our Celiac and vegetarian friend. Would definitely recommend to everyone

We use to visit Shimlas every time we visited Birmingham. They were further down Broad Street in those days. Unfortunately, the food is nothing like the standard of the past. The food is fairly mediocre, stodgy and not very tender or fresh. Very much in keeping with ordinary Indian restaurants on any ordinary street that will most likely charge half the price. So, this food is over priced. The service was good and the surroundings were very pleasant. But the food was very disappointing. I have always had a soft spot for Shimlas - It is very saddening.

The food was excellent, my only criticism was the service, had to ask for every course to be drlivered and was not offered drinks until asked for them

Ambience was that of a school lunch hall, the food was terrible, some arrived cold but there was not ankugh staff to complain to about that. The starters itself was bland, while the mains wasn't too bad. Having said that, the naan was undercooked so that was in keeping with the poor quality of food we received. Again though, service was poor so could not complain to anyone. My girlfriend ordered a mojito- it came, but was literally soda water with some mint thrown in(!) Again, noone to complain to. After finally waving down a waitress we asked for a jug of water, at which point we were told 'no' and they only had glasses, which was fair... But then the tables next to us got a jug. Overall it was the worst decision I have ever made. I quite liked the one in Manchester, but this one is run like a joke. There were pieces of paper stuck on the wall with table numbers, yet my I saw the waitors walking around trying to give my drinks to three different tables, and even when it came to asking for the bill we were sat there for 35mins. The other thing which annoyed me was that it was a compulsory set menu, yet where there was 'a choice of' we were not given any choice. Nor, I think was anyone else. While the staff were relatively friendly when you finally caught their attention, they simply weren't good enough to warrant the price tag. Nor were they attentitive at all. I have to say though, I saw a few couples enjoying themselves, maybe they are used to terrible food and service, or maybe they went in expecting it to be that bad. I'll never be going back to this restaurant again, and will actively make sure anyone I know doesn't waste their money here.

Shimla Pinks in Solihull was nothing compared to the branch in Broad Street Birmingham. Pretty poor really. No atmosphere.

Shimla Pinks is definitely deserving of it's stalwart reputation. Service was exquisite, food tasty and the general ambience very relaxing. Will most certainly be back for more of all it has to offer and thoroughly look forward to working my way through the extensive menu!
