Absolutely love Skiffs, seems to be out of the Newport main loop, so it’s always a pleasure to dine there. We have had the same waitress the last few times we have been there, love the hospitality and the atmosphere, will be back again.

I am a local and this was my first time eating at the Skiff Bar. We started with two cocktails which were good, but fairly small for $9.00 each. Then we got the cheese plate which was surprisingly good. They gave us lots of cheese and different meats, nuts and Jam. Our meals were not very good. My salmon was dry and flavorless and the Mexican rice was a little strange with Salmon. My friend got chicken which was basically just a drumstick in a weird sauce with kale and potatoes. She was not a fan, but I tried and liked her potatoes. Overall, I would probably go back just for a drink and a cheese plate or to try another app, but never get an entrée again.

It was a good in-hotel place. Enjoyable all around. Happy waitstaff. Would recommend for easy enjoyment. Clean, neat and tasteful decor.

Good, but pricey for the area and being a hotel restaurant. Better options in Newport that are less expensive but just as good.

Service was excellent. Salmon was good, but the rice and broccolini were beyond cold, but ice cold.

Not the most happening place when we were there, but was just right to have conversation and a burger. Both of our burgers were real good. I really enjoyed the America’s Cup burger, which has a apple bacon jam that was just right. Would definitely go back.

Online menu was not updated. Menu is limited and did not include oysters which was what we came for. Pricey for what it is. Service was great

I’m officially obsessed with the the fried shrimp tacos. There isn’t a single thing I’d change and the flavors were beyond. The Smokey mai tai is another winner. The food was amazing. Service was good and environment was good. Nothing to really pick apart but if I had to make one suggestion, I’d ease up on the salted rim on the salted caramel martini. I know how contradictory that sounds but I took a sip and the salted overpowered the flavor of the cocktail which itself was delicious. We’re definitely coming back this summer because I’m coming for those tacos 😍

We were treated like VIPs! We had reservations and when we were seated, there was a table of 6 across from us. They were extremely loud and not at all concerned with other people in the restaurant. We asked to sit elsewhere, but there were no other tables available. Stephanie (our server) went to talk to the manager. They ended up seating us at the restaurant next door where we were the only ones! It was wonderful!!! Stephanie was still very attentive and she didn't forget we were there. The food was also excellent! We were thrilled with the whole experience.....so a big 'thank you' to the Manager and Stephanie at Skiff Bar for really taking excellent care of us!

I absolutely love this location by the water! The Marriott itself is excellent and this little restaurant is great for a sit down lunch. We have even had dinner here before. There aren’t many options but the options they do have are pretty delicious! Our go to are either the BLT, wings or a simple salad! We stopped in quick before heading over to the Newport Mansions today. We were in and out within less than 45 minutes!

Food was terrible, salmon was dry and rice tasted like it was out of a box, waited forever for the food even though the restaurant was empty.

Food was great! Servicer was great! The breakfast area was a bit "Sterile" with the all white...BUT food and service were great!

My husband and I were celebrating my birthday in Newport and are staying at the Marriott . We had originally had a reservation at The Mooring, but after seeing the beautiful decor and menu decided to cancel and go to the Skiff. We were very happy we did! Our experience from start to finish was excellent. The hostess could not do enough to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Our waiter was genuinely happy to serve us and offered many recommendations and the bartender makes an amazing martini. They should be very proud of their staff and the food was plentiful and delicious.

Great experience from start to finish. Very attentive service and tasty food. My Fish was perfectly cooked and my girls got generous portions of a Butternut squash risotto and fish and chips. My youngest loved the Buffalo chicken soup starter. The only Knick was that they were out of the dessert I wanted.

Food was only fair, not worth the price. Would not go back.

The Marriott needs to work on their heat lamps in the Skiff Bar because they don’t always work.

Other than that, the atmosphere is good with a wonderful view and it’s great for outdoor seating. I had fish and chips which were delicious and a wonderful cocktail!

The highlight of dining at the Skiff Bar is being served by IKEA (i’m sorry; I know this is the wrong spelling of her name.)

She is a true professional in every sense of the word. She’s knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and one of the reasons friends and I choose to have dinner there.

Visit the Skiff Bar and hopefully you will have IKEA as your server. You’ll leave after having a nice meal, a wonderful experience and and having made a good friend!

Breakfast on a birthday weekend. The crispy French toast was so yummy as well as the western omelet.

Guests at the Marriott.. Breakfast was included so can't speak for the value.. Eggs benedict was fantastic.. Husband had home made corned beef hash and he loved it!!
