Dinner before comedy show.
This is a fabulous restaurant in Green Bay. The food is delicious!
Exceptional unique food offerings. A wonderful experience.
Drinks were good, staff was friendly, service was good, most of the food was not very good, but the steak and the sauce that came with it was good.
Staff and drinks were excellent. Food was disappointing and we ordered nine plates between our group. The lobster fried rice was great but it was the only winner at our table. Wait and bar staff were very friendly and attentive. Good cocktails. I would go back for drinks but not for food.
My husband and I split a beet salad, which was bland, little taste to the dressing. For my entrée, I ordered the lobster ravioli, which tasted extremely salty me. I had my husband taste it for his opinion and he agreed. When the server asked how our dinners tasted, I told her mine was too salty and she returned it to the kitchen. She said she tasted it herself and agreed that the salt was excessive. She then asked if I would like something else, and I ordered the small-plate scallop dish. The scallops were just okay, four scallops on a pile of unidentifiable puree with microgreens. When our bill arrived, we noticed we were charged for the medium plate scallop dish, not the small ($12 difference), but did not say anything. Bottom line, we will not return to Slander. The only reason for giving this review two stars is because my husband liked the mussels he ordered for his entrée.
A few weeks ago, we dined at a lovely restaurant in the Kohler area, and that night I also ordered a beet salad and lobster ravioli. Completely different from what I was served at Slander, the meal in Kohler was one of the best I've ever had.
Amazing cocktails and great food! Will definitely go back!
First time dining at Slander and will try again. Service was friendly but a little slow due to training. I suspect this will improve. 2 of the 3 dishes we shared were delicious (Bronzini and Fried Chicken). The roasted cauliflower was not good at all…dry and lacked flavor.
Food was of high quality however the portions a bit small for meals meant to share. We tried quite a few options on the menu and found the food to be ok. All was a bit on the bland side but we’ll presented. We’ll probably give it another shot after they mix up the menu. The ambiance was nice, and the service was as expected. We had a trainee and she did just fine.
Menu was difficult to read because of the font used and did not explain how you should choose your dinner. Basically the menu was divided into small plate, medium plate and large plate dinners. One would assume that a "plate" would include sides. It really is more ala carte where each plate is a meal item. This was not explained to us by the waitress either. I order scallops and ,y wife ordered Walleye and that is what we got-a plate with four scallops and a plate with one fish. The food was prepared very well though. Waitress was very inexperienced and did not do a very good job-leaving menus and empty bar glasses on the table until we were finished.
Loved everything about it. Smelled a little like incense but not overpowering. Loved everything except the high top dining tables down stairs. Waitress was great drinks were fantastic
Wonderful place all the way around--exceptional beverage and food selections and service but was even given numerous suggestions of things to do and see in the region when I shared that I was traveling to Wisconsin for the first time in the notes with my reservation. Very much appreciated the attention to detail and how much the staff wanted for me to fully experience what their state has to offer, not only their restaurant. Would highly recommend to others!
Felicity was an excellent server. Very personable and helpful with menu selections. Friendly owner that spent time talking to our table.
You have to try this place!! It’s an absolute must!!
The food was delicious! Celebrated my husband’s birthday & the chef made a gluten free cake for him. We highly recommend! This will be one of our new favorite dining places!
Did date things with my special lady friend. The small plates at Slander are genius, so we got a little of everything. Bao, lobster fried rice, fried chicken thighs, oysters (both raw and fire-roasted), caramel cake, and the best little ricotta and lemon doughnuts. Service was great too. 10/10 would recommend. You should go here because I want this place to thrive. But don't go here so much I have to wait for a table. Please and thank you.
Service was fine, ambiance was fine. But there were issues with the food. To start off with the presentation of the the food was very poor, starting with the Smoked Buratta salad. The salad came out looking like someone dumped a bowl of greens on a plate with nothing else because the burratta, tomatoes, and dressing was on the bottom of the plate completely covered by a mound of greens. It was the most bizarre presentation of a salad I have ever seen - and not pretty, not tempting. The second plate that came out was lobster fried rice. The great news about the lobster fried rice is that the lobster was cooked perfectly - tender and delicious. The bad news again was presentation, which was a giant plate of dark brown mush - zero design or contrasting colors. The flavor was good but extremely salty. We ate the lobster and left the rest of the dish because the salt level made it inedible. We explained to the server so that the kitchen could know for the next guest that orders it. We did not expect or ask for a discount, but she did provide one. The third dish was whole prawns. Once again, a giant plate of prawns smothered in what looked like the same dark brown sauce that the lobster fried rice was drenched in, nothing else on the plate to complement or give contrast or any visual interest. So far we had one giant all green plate of food and two plates of all dark brown food - very weird. But here is the worst part, we had so much difficulty getting the shells off of the meat, that we could not use utensils and had to use our fingers and still the shells would not separate from the meat; it was really stuck to it - we have never experienced that. It took me more than 5 minutes to eat 1, my guest more than 20 minutes to eat about 5 and his hands were covered in sauce. Definitely not a fine dining experience. When you did eat them, the meat near the head was mushy in texture, so we questioned both the freshness and the cooking technique of the prawns.
Other diners raved about the beet salad and we agree. I enjoyed my duck entree. We split the pistachio dessert. All in all a very enjoyable evening. The repurposed old building is amazing.
The best food. We’ve been multiple times! The mussels are to die for and the scallops. We haven’t liked anything we’ve tried. The bartender is SO good and really knows how to make drinks. Highly recommend!
The menu descriptions sound wonderful but the execution isn’t there. From over cooked tough duck to black beans so undercooked they were crunchy.
Small plates are extremely small & very overpriced. The roasted oysters for $10 contained 2 about the size of a quarter (also overcooked) slathered in what tasted like store bought bbq sauce.
Steamed pork buns had very small pieces of meat, a few pieces of hot pepper, & a few strands of cabbage. That’s was it, no sauce or anything else.
Very disappointing since we were hoping for a good restaurant in GB.
The only good thing going for this place is the cocktails are very creative. We’d go back again for drinks but definitely not food.
Amazing service and meal.
Great food and great service; will definitely come back!
Chef Zach never disappoints! Excellent.
This place has a long way to go.
Recently opened, but if they wish to succeed. Their ownership and management support of their employees needs a lot of work.
Be very cautious if you choose to dine here.
Fabulous! Drinks, dining, service...all top notch. I don't believe I've ever said the phrase, "This beet salad is amazing!" at any other time in my life. We will definitely be back!
