Sloppy Crab Restaurant
First time visiting, and the food was eh..ok disappointed that my $55 snow crab came out cold like most of my food. Nevertheless, I had to take inconsideration the lack of help that many businesses are experiencing. Overall the service was great, but noise level was high I could barely hold a conversation with my date.
Birthday dinner! It’s really more like a good spot to meet up with friends for drinks or watch the game.
The ambiance and service was excellent. It was $10 to park and the value of the food wasn’t really worth it. The menu is very limited. I was shocked they didn’t really have a lot of shrimp and crab choices. I did enjoy the drinks as well. The portion sizes were fairly small for the price.
Drinks were very much so watered down. My crab cakes were burnt on the bottom. Did not eat my dinner ,paid for it still and exited. The service was decent
We made a reservation for 12 people, they were prepped for us, all of our orders were correct, they accommodated individual bills, and they were extremely attentive! I will be back!
The mash potatoes were salty and I had better salmon at other restaurants.
The food was NOT worth the price. The customer service however, is AMAZING‼️
My sister/friends and I had the pleasure of dining at Sloppy Crab on a Saturday. The Vibe was great, the staff exceptional and the food...AMAZING! We were served by our Drink Specialist Mir. He was attentive and extremely accommodating in regards to our reservation scenario. All was made right and we went on to enjoy an amazing dining experience and tasty drinks. We also met the Chef (Phillip). It was necessary to meet the man behind the most tender lamb chops I have EVER tasted. Well seasoned and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!!!
Well the food was good ! Slow service, short menu, over priced, items on menu not available, slow with drinks.. not a great experience. For the prices one would think that there would be at least a pre meal bread service , NOPE ! Poorly run restaurant with NO working phone number …
Service was slooooow...We had a groupon and they claim it was fraud
When we enter the restaurant we notice the noise level was pretty high and we weren’t expecting that but that just meant they were busy and everyone was enjoying themselves. The place isn’t as big as I thought it would be so that could also be why is was noisy it’s cozy. The server was attentive and got what we needed as asked, my wife ordered a Caesar salad and was disappointed from the moment it was served it looked like the salad came from a Walmart bag and the taste and the way it was presented wasn’t the greatest. Now the food. I got the lobster shrimp scampi and the sauce seemed a bit watery so the server brought us some cheese to add to it and it worked perfectly for me. I enjoy the flavor and the thickness of the sauce. My wife order King crab leg and they were very good but for the price of $65 I expected more than just 2 legs plus the didn’t give us a leg cracker so we are at the table cracking them open by hand. I also added Mac and cheese to our meal and even though it doesn’t taste like big mommas it’ll do. We had an appetizer of egg rolls and those were delicious it’s a must try and them seem very popular. Overall my meal was fine but the food is overpriced by a lot. I will return at a later date but it just won’t be soon since they just opened and are still fine tuning everything
Had the Cajun chicken tenders for appetizers that were not done when they came out 🤮 patron margarita tasted just like margarita mix .. then to top it off salmon came out dry af the mash was Puréed and was a baby portion $193 wasted and I want be returning
I really like the renovation from what used to be Tom’s Oyster. Chić decor. They are still working the kinks out and that understandable due to the Covid environment. I arrived at 4pm for my reservation and could not enter the restaurant because the door was locked. The hostess could not find the key to keep the door unlocked so customers could enter freely. They kept having to open the door until they decided to prop it open with a wet floor sign. I sat at the bar because I was solo. My bartender was new but she was EXCELLENT! I ordered a very dirty gin martini. It was delicious. For my appetizer I ordered the salmon bites. They were delicious I’ll definitely be back for those. For my entree I ordered the Sloppy Crab seafood pot. The presentation was beautiful. This is where the disappointment started. My crab leg wasn’t cracked and the lobster tail was missing. The kitchen needs to be aware of what they send out and make sure the entrees have everything advertised on that plate. Major concern for the bartender staff is that they did not have mats on the floor to present slipping and sliding. That’s so dangerous and is s health and safety violation. I will return for another try. I’m happy to have another restaurant on Jefferson.
Made reservations for 7:15. When we got to the restaurant, it was closed. Didn’t even get a phone call about it being closed before we drove 40 mins to eat.
The Sloppy Crab was not even open but accepting reservations. You could not get anyone on the phone just a busy signal and when I attempted to go up to the establishment it was closed and the lights were out. I finally found a number on open table to call and the person that answered the phone was rude.
Sloppy Crab Is The New Elegant Spot To Eat At Downtown! The Atmosphere Was Amazing, Staff Was Very Professional. The Manager Also Check On Customers Making Sure Everyone Was Good. The Food Was Really Good The Rooftop Was My Favorite Place To Be Because I LOVE Music Especially Ole School ❤
Congratulations Chef Al!
You Did The Damnnn Thang On This One 💯
Great food great service and experience freshly open so my only thing I can say that was in the downside is the need to expand the menu with more items but open location just launched food was amazing cocktails was on point as well will be returning soon
The food and ambience was 5 star but I was disappointed that we weren't allowed to eat on the rooftop when I was giving a choice when making the reservation. I would like to see "bread" being served at the table before placing your dinner order and also a soup menu. Other than that I most definitely will be back. 💗
I had a 6pm reservation for a standard table as I’m 8 months pregnant and they tried to sit my 8 year old son and myself at a high top table, so we had to wait for a table to open and be clean about 15 mins which wasn’t that bad, their online menu did not match the menu they gave us and the waitress said they are only doing a specific menu for the first 3 weeks (wish I knew cuz I only came for the crab stuffed lobster they used to serve at Sloppy Chops) it took about 40 mins for our food to come out and a table that was sat after us got their drinks and food before us (how?!!) mind you I ordered an appetizer, a side of best Mac as his entree and I ordered an entree and all of our food came out together instead of the appetizer first, the food was mediocre at best, my stuffed salmon wasn’t fully cooked and they used imitation crab as the stuffing 😢😢, the service was lacking with our waitress but she was probably overwhelmed, the prices are severely overpriced for the food, 18% gratuity is included in the check, and overall not as tasty as Sloppy Chops. With all the issues, I rated them a 2 instead of 1 because they are a new business and I will return in a few months after they work out staffing, the menu and the rest of the kinks.
The food was simply amazing! Worth the price paid! I recommend that EVERYONE try Sloppy Crab to experience the soulful tantalizing food they serve! - Just a little note, the food was so good it brought a tear to my cousin’s eyes!
I will say that they should put into place a better dress code for their servers. Some were dressed professionally and carried themselves as such, but a few were not.
It was a limited menu as it was during soft opening. It would’ve been nice to know this prior to coming. The menu online was different and had more options. I also made a table reservation for outside dining and was informed that they didn’t serve food upstairs. That’s fine but I wish that would’ve been communicated as well. The service was OK and although it wasn’t crowded, it took a minute for our server to get drinks to us. The drinks are overpriced in my opinion. $18 for a sidecar that was half full is a bit pricey for this establishment. I’m not sure what premium liquor was used to justify this price. I’ve had way better martinis and paid $12-14 max. Two drinks and a meal for one person ran a little over $100. Overall, the restaurant is nice and I would return once they are settled in to their new space. Happy hour should definitely become a thing here.
Visited during soft opening. Pretty expensive and service needs some improvement. I will go back to try again when the restaurant is fully open.
As we walked in the door the staff energy was as if they didn't want us there. There was no greeting and good energy. We were seated at the tables by the bar which had hair and a bug on the table. We did not complain. They also did not serve fried crab legs, which is the meal we saw on instagram to make us want to go. So we decided to get some stuff we never had. After eating we asked for the check and the waitress ask did we want to split the bill. Why would she ask this? Why would me and my fiance split a bill. Shortly after hs saying no, she brough the bill and left is at the table. There is a QR code to pay online at the bottom of the reciept. I paid online and left her a $25 tip to be nice. We leave out the resturant and the waiitress chased me all the way to out car saying I did not pay. I showed her my digital receipt and the tip i left her. She did not apologize for the way she made us look. Instead she said the system wasn't showing we paid. Then I asked why would you bring the check and leave for 6 minutes. The overall experience was horrible. Its not worth the $135 I spent. I would have rather ate at J. Alexander's.
Excellent experience!!!!! Host was amazing!!!!! Drinks was great!!!
Food was delicious everything was tender and juicy. The food is pricey the staff was so nice
Had reservations at 4pm drove all the way there from Toledo Ohio, just to see a sign on the door that they weren’t opening until 6pm. I never received a call text or anything. Very upset
Need more things on the menu and the prices are very high food was good overall
They was closed when I got there
