Smashing Grapes - Annapolis
Wine is clearly the draw for many who dine here as there are more than 350 selections to choose. But there are some interesting cocktails as well. There is something on the menu for everyone including a nice selection of small plates. The hit of the evening was the cauliflower appetizer, served with blue cheese dressing and Buffalo sauce. The spicy crab bisque was a bit disappointing, only because it was barely warm. But the sea bass and the lobster risotto were both excellent.
Great service and nice atmosphere
First time at Smashing Grapes in Annapolis. Nice diverse menu and great wine selection. I enjoyed the Sea Bass which was outstanding and prepared to perfection. My husband had the Cali Cobb which he also said was great. Nice atmosphere. Wine prices seemed high to me for size of serving. Otherwise I good value. Would definitley visit again.
Waiter kept trying to upsell--starting with the wine. Then the main course. Was clearly annoyed we didnt purchase the most expensive items on the menu he kept pushing so we just didn't see him the rest of the night. It was a horrible experience and we won't be back--too many other choices in town to be spoken to in a condescending manner and subsequent poor service for what turned out to be mediocre food.
Great service from Robert and excellent food. He was very knowledgeable about the wine and food, which helped us pair them beautifully. The moules frites was delicious paired with the Sauvignon blanc. The sea bass and the steak au poivre were excellent. For dessert we enjoyed the espresso pound cake. We’ll definitely come again.
Food is disgusting but the wine selection is excellent. Value is abysmal. Would recommend for a glass or bottle of wine and small plates to share. Would not eat a meal here.
Had a wonderful date night with my wife. The wine my waiter recommended was absolutely amazing. The food was amazing.
Excellent service. Great menu. Cute date scene.
Sunday dinner was delicious! Made from scratch and yummy! Fig flatbread and crabapple avocado toast - tons of flavor! Also the service was perfect. Our server was very patient and attentive! We will be back!
Definitely not anything to write home about. Food was good, service was subpar.
I would never go back the food was nasty and the service was poor.
Service was spectacular 👌🏽 was very underwhelmed by the Bloody Mary and was sent back.
Food was great tasting but not very hot. It took 35 minutes to get our entree. We had to call our waiter over to ask why it was taking so long. He said there was a big party in another room and the kitchen was backed up. He should have come by the table earlier and let us know. Food was warm to cold.
Food was very average and short one order. Serving was very small . Traffic noise was terrible.
All in all, we won’t be returning any time soon.
Good atmosphere, upscale casual. Table spacing was very comfortable. Food was very good with reasonable proportions. Great that there are some vegan and vegetarian options. Would have liked to see more categories without cheese or with non-dairy cheese.
Some menu descriptions could be improved. Muscles appetizer was excellent but the description of the marinara sauce did not make it clear it contained port sausage. Also it came with French fries which we found odd.
There were no vegan or dairy free desert options. If a restaurant is going to have vegan options for main courses, it should have them for every course.
The after dinner coffee was best hazelnut I’ve ever had. However it was very skimpy and according to the receipt came out of a Keureg Maxine. So $4 seemed quite excessive. And why a “made from scratch” kitchen would have coffee from a Keureg makes no sense.
But all in all a great evening and we will give them another try.
Wonderfully diverse menu and outstanding service.
Brunch menu is not very unique. Bloody Mary was sour. Would like to give it another try with the regular menu.
This was my second time at Smashing Grapes. My friends were an hour late meeting me so I sat and waited in the outside dining area for over an hour. Ezry, my waiter, was exceptional. She was caring and attentive while I waited. When my friends arrived and we finally ate I was pleased with the food as were they. I had the avocado toast (it was brunch time) and they both had Cobb salads. I wil definitely go back
The restaurant is well decorated and has ample indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, Emma, was knowledgeable and polite during our meal. Unfortunately, two members of my party became sick after our dining experience. They ordered the same menu item: a caesar salad.
The food was AMAZING and the wine selection had any and everything you wanted along with other drink selections
Been to Smashing Grapes twice. Both times were awesome! Great experience.
The service was painfully slow. To the point that our drinks were watered down from melted ice by the time we got them. My meal was missing a side and the steak was definitely not worth $42. Not the birthday meal I was hoping for.
Good food as always. Nice ambiance and waitresses service was very good.
