Great breakfast

Literally my favorite restaurant in Rochester!

The food was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable concerning the menu. She was very attentive. The ambiance was great. Will certainly go back.

We went to get drinks at the bar for our anniversary. There was trivia night which was fun and a great way to be entertained.

Great as always, and the patio was delightful.

No skimping on portion size, good flavor, nice spicing. Foods that should have been hot weren't.

Great casual atmosphere

Seated right away.
Ambience was great and we got our food very quickly.
Payment was easy...right at the table.

My son chose Smoak for his birthday dinner. The first time we were here was in January and we were impressed. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint! Yummy food (those nachos were delicious!) We will be back!

Outstanding food, service, drinks and ambiance. The entire serving and management staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming.

It was slightly busy, but our server wasn’t overly attentive and additional staff should have been working or helping. It took at least 10 minutes before we were asked for our drink orders. It will be a while before we go back, as there are many other options in the area. The food was good, but the service definitely soured our experience.

Great atmosphere! Need to go back multiple times to find menu favorites.

Had lunch on the patio on a Wednesday with a friend. Pulled pork sandwich was very good. Mac and cheese side was mediocre. Very attentive and quick service. Nice patio.
Will go back again.

Great food, service was excellent and the Brussels sprouts are unbelievable.
My kids would eat them prepared this way.
Side portions are very large.

Brisket was da bomb- melted in your mouth! Son enjoyed the huge portion of pork nachos.

First visit to Smoak. It was Fathers Day, early reservation. We were seated right away but waited 45 minutes for our food. The food was tasty and ample, and I felt a good value for the price. Employees were wearing masks, except for one staff member who was working at the serving bar. I counted 3 staff members who’s masks were only covering their mouths and not noses. In these days of Covid, I felt uneasy with this. We are the Med City and can do better, especially since we have so many out of town guests. Please review your procedures and make sure everyone wears masks and wears them correctly.

The atmosphere @ SMOAK is welcoming & relaxing!! Amazing indoor outdoor bar! Really good food, drinks & service!! Always look forward to my next time back for either Lunch, HH or dinner!!! Best barbecue & whiskey drinks in Rochester!

Excellent all around. Service, atmosphere, and food all worth repeat visits! Clean.

Second visit to Smoak since they've opened and I'd have to say, they've got their game on! The rib are meaty and flavorful as is the 1/2 chicken. Love the smoked turkey salad of the day as a side and the mac& cheese is super. Dined outside and what a nice patio just outside the main entrance. Like the bar that opens up to the patio for seating on either side. Definitely will be back!!

Only issue was seeing employees in the kitchen and packing to go orders with masks down under noses and even down under mouths. And they were seating in booths directly next to each other and not 6 feet apart.

Everything was awesome. I would highly recommend the brisket!

It was nice to dine in! I accidentally undertipped the server- bad math by me. I’ll try to make it up to her sometime. Sorry.

We sat outside on their patio which was great. We both agreed the sandwiches we ordered were just pretty average tasting but the vegetables were great. We had brussel sprouts and collard greens and would order both again.

Lovely outdoor space, nicely decorated indoors top. Their SMOAK drinks are fabulous and presentation like nothing I’ve seen before. Outstanding food and service!

The queso & Nashville chicken tender appetizers are soooo good!!! Best queso I’ve had in Rochester!!
I’ve had the pulled pork sandwich a number of times also & it’s awesome every time. Really good salads also!!!!

Service was slow but the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Food was expensive and not the greatest. And we had to sit right in the sun with no umbrella. We couldn’t hear music at all which to us is important when we go out to eat. We like to listen to music.

From Texas visiting Rochester, MN and was skeptical about ‘real TX BBQ’ - it was all that! Great atmosphere, great food, great service. We are in the area for 10 days and will be back.

As always, the food and staff were amazing! The food is outstanding, the only negative is having to make a decision on what to have. Went out of my comfort zone and tried the brussel sprouts, highly recommend!

We loved everything about this place, the ambience is like a modern bbq with an open kitchen style. The food was FABULOUS and plated beautifully. My husband and I each had two cocktails, both of which were great. We definitely plan on spending time here this summer!

Hostess told me they didn't use Opentable! LOL. Even when I showed her my reservation on my phone.

We wanted to check out one of the newest restaurants in Rochester, MN. We shared one of the BBQ platters (half chicken, ribs, and brisket). All of the meats were extremely juicy. We got a cornbread loaf, and it was absolutely tasty (the honey butter didn’t hurt either)! I’d definitely recommend trying it out!!

It was okay. Smoked chicken was good, everything else was just okay.

Great food the brisket melts in your mouth. Dad said Smoak is better then Famous Dave's. We ate family style and tried almost everything and we didnt find one thing we didnt like.

We had hillbilly for waitress, not informative of food, didn't offer me a beverage, as my husband was there first, as he was getting served as I was being settled. He ordered full rack of ribs, received half, other half brought to the table in a plastic bag and placed in front of him while eating. No wet dry package served with meals, had to ask for them.

Food only average, very limited menu, nothing worth getting on the apps expect cornbread. It's came lukewarm only. Asked to speak with duty manager, offered apologize only. Also out of paper towels, waitress said there is 2 left, that should be enough! Not! I had the briskets sandwich, didn't like the bun, and didn't like if piled, not sheddred.

We were not impressed at all, staff needs work, menu needs improving with fun items, noisy with high ceilings and tin ceiling.

Watch out, the tap house will take the honors on circle drive!

The live music was WAY too loud. It was very hard to maintain a conversation. The brisket had a lot of fat. The pulled pork and 1/2 chicken had a bit of fish taste which was off putting. The pecan pie was mainly crust with very little filling (more like a tart). The cornbread was very tasty though!
