Valentines dinner was very special. The lobster ravioli with shrimp was to die for
The quality of the food has gone downhill. Two of my dining companions ordered chicken parmesan which was overcooked, burnt around the edges and dry. I was actually asked me to taste it to see if it was actually chicken because it was so thin and dry. I ordered bolognese ravioli. The ravioli was very good however the sauce was not bolognese. There was not any meat. I mentioned to the waitress the chicken parmesan was dry, she apologized and brought a free desert. We all decided we would not return to this restaurant.
Our family of 6 had a nice dinner here. Scallops special was delicious as were the salmon and ravioli with bolognese sauce. Great service. Would definitely recommend.
Normally Sofia is the best. This trip their team was anything but that. Even though I was there early it took several minutes to be seated. For there it got worse. Several minutes later I got to order a drink. After that I never had anyone stop by. I waited 23 minutes then got up and went to the bar and asked for my check. The waiter blamed the owner for not coming by. Owner blamed waiter. I asked please let me get check and leave. Not sure what happened as this was unusual for Sofia. Very stressful dining.
The chicken in the parmigiana was severely undercooked and the sauce for the carbonara was scrambled eggs. Linens and glassware were dirty, and the service, although pleasant, was slow.
Great place for good food and great service. Good place for big parties.
Always great Italian food at Sofia’s.
Waiter was very slow in offering drinks and to take order. He even forgot husband's order for a drink He also made disparaging comments about my sweater and drink order, although I'm not sure he realized he was rude and thought he was being funny. My husband's meal was very good but special recommended that I ordered was ok. I would not rush back. Service really detracted from the experience.
We loved this restaurant- the food was delicious. I had a pasta dish and it was perfect. The staff was lovely, friendly and attentive. We were so excited to stumble across this restaurant. Highly recommended.
The food was good but prices are high given the ambiance, which is minimal and dated and the service was brusque, slow and abupt. Not for a night out but ok for a quick meal
It was our second choice that night. We wanted to try a new restaurant in Hudson, but were blasted out by the noise level. Though our second choice, Sofia's is an old favorite, and we and our friends had a delightful meal and evening. Service always a plus with personable staff; delicious food, including some surprises with an appetizer we had not tried before (the buratta special) and a limoncello based dessert.
Being Italian, I would describe the restaurant as the classic American “Italian” restaurant, not authentic (aside from the spelling of the restaurant name), not even average compared to other Italo-American restaurants.
I would describe the decor as early 90’, carpet, dated furniture.
The menu was uninspiring..yet... when I go to a new restaurant I usually ask the waiting staff for the most popular or best dish on the menu as reference for what else I could taste the next time I come.
I was suggested either chicken or steak (not quite Italian staples.. but sure.. ) , so I went for the steak. Ordered it rare, arrived medium. The cut and quality of the steak were below supermarket sale.
I would not recommend... but there appeared to be few repeat customers.. so perhaps is just a matter of taste..
Sofia is a charming Trattoria on Main Street in Hudson with well executed Pastas and Italian fare.
The service is good; and the food is really good. We started with Arracini and a nice salad. Pastas were homemade and tasty. We would definitely return.
Another great time at Sofia Ristorante. The food, the atmosphere, and of course the people are always amazing. The burrata appetizer was oh so good. My veal parm tender and tasty. They didn’t have my wife's fav meal baby clams over spaghetti on the menu but the chef whipped it up for her and it was spot on. Oh did I mention the great bottle of Banfi Brunello we enjoyed with our meal. Believe it or not we ended the night with a terrific amaretto affogato (another item not in the menu) and a limoncello parfait.
Definitely one of our favorite places.
Enjoyed another great meal at Sofia’s with friends. I had a special with baby clams and my husband had the bolognese. Delicious!
I found the Italian food...pasta dishes to be mediocre. My husband's chicken parm was dry. My lasagna was soupy. For the price, this was bad. Do they have a new chef? We have used this restaurant for special occasions but will no longer do so.
Excellent meal and nice quiet atmosphere! Would recommend and will definitely go back.
Excellent food and wine selection. Great gem for Hudson!
We have been going to Sofia’s for 3 years now and continue to go back for the entire experience. The food is very good and served in manageable portions. The owners are always on site and quick with a warm greeting. The wait staff is welcoming and treat you as a guest in their home, and are ready to engage in good banter if you are. If you can, treat yourself to the service of the young lady that wears the flowery Dr. Martens.
Our latest visit was like many other in the past, great everything. So yummy! Highly recommend!
Great little place, surprised to see so few people there when we went at 630 on a Friday night. The only drawback was that we were sitting near the bar, which is where all the staff congregated to sit and talk, which is all well and fine when it's dead. Just maybe not somewhere out in the open right next to guests. However they did keep the conversation appropriate for the most part and were not overly loud. All in all a good experience and will be back.
The lasagna was amazing! Great service and a hidden gem in Hudson, MA, why go to the North End of Boston?
Sofia Restaurant scratched my it for Italian food. the cheese in the Buratta-Prosciutto appetizer was light as a feather. I had veal parmesan, a healthy portion, but could have used a little more sauce to keep the veal moist. The 'clam on pasta with oil' special looked and smelled wonderful and the salmon special was a ample portion. Pretty good wine list as well, heavy on the Italian wines (as it should be) and with many price points offered.
