Sortino's - Pocono Manor
It was WAY over prices!!!! Food wasn’t good. We will never eat any of restaurants in the resorts again.
Next time if we go Kalahari again, we will definitely prepare our own meals instead of spend none senses money in that place.
Food tastes similar to an Italian chain restaurant at three times the cost.
Our waiter Steve is awesome - we had a Bach party full of girls - he added to the fun!!
Service was good. Main meals were wonderful. Caesar salad and focaccia bread were bland.
Amazing staff and food. The calamari, chicken parmigiana, cannolis and tiramisu were perfect.
Great service and great food!
The waitress was kind, but a bit inattentive. I think it was more the language barrier than anything else.
We were a party of eight, 4 adults and 4 children. We went here for a dinner with another family and were seated almost immediately. This was our fourth time eating at Sortino’s within the last three years.
We ordered the meat and cheese board, which was served with cured meats that were much darker than normal, as if they weren’t fresh and past the expiration date, it didn’t taste right either. The rest of their food was also sub par, very disappointed in the food quality.
After our table was cleared, I had to ask our server for the check because she didn’t bring it, even though we were obviously done with dinner for at least 7-8 minutes. It took even longer, almost 15-20 minutes to bring us our change - on a Wednesday night at 6PM, when it wasn’t busy.
When our change was finally brought back to our table by the manager, I asked her in a very discrete manner why it took so long to get our change back and the manager said, “she (our server) probably couldn’t find someone to break our bill. Wrong answer! She should have apologized for the long wait and made any excuse to validate our frustration.
First - we paid with $20 dollar bills and Second - our change was only $3.45. While we were waiting for our change; we considered leaving because it was taking so long BUT, a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill and is displayed when you walk into the restaurant; that said, it was more about the principle and not the $3.45. When you’re commanding 20% gratuity, you should deliver better quality food and customer service.
Considering a 20% tip was included to any size party check, I was expecting better service. We had to ask a few times for things and our server was sometimes not able to be found.
The food was eh. For the price of the main course dishes, a salad should be included. I have never eaten at an italian restaurant that doesn't include bread and salad with the meal.
Overall, not impressed.
Ou server was good but we should have split when he really had no good recommendations for menu items above 2 seafood dishes... Most of the food was not good. The antipasti app was pretty good, the rest of the dinner was certainly not worth the pricetag. Would not recommend... the food we ordered through the water park was better. Check out the other spots in the resort.
Service and food was awesome!
It was real good authentic Italian food
All 5 of us who went there for dinner enjoyed our meals , we all had left overs so there was definitely plenty of food for the price. Our server was very friendly and patient . All 5 of us would definitely come back to eat .
My only complaint was my husband and I both ordered alfredo sauce on our pasta but it had peas, ham and mushrooms which i do not like luckily there wasn’t a lot of mushrooms so I picked them out and still enjoyed the pasta
Waitress was amazing service was beyond awesome
Food was bad
The pasta was so dry the pizza for over brick was a disappointment soggy and no flavor the free bread was good
Not worth the 80 dollars we spent
Food was delicious. A bit expencive but I gueds that's expected at a resort
If you are staying at the resort just save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to eat Italian food away from the resort. Between the long wait times and food that tasted microwaved, you could find a better and less expensive dining experience.
The food was not good and everything was way overpriced. It took us a long time to get both our appetizers and the meal even though we had a reservation and ordered right away. We were not able to eat much of anything we ordered. Would definitely not recommend.
The food was not to our standards, tough lemon chicken, poor spinach salad. (We we’re not charged for these in the end). Server was attentive to us but communication with the kitchen was lacking. Everything was priced individually and was over priced for quality of food. Plus 20% gratuity was automatically added (it was posted as such). Would not go again.
Food was good but service was terrible! Very inexperienced server. Bus guy was more responsive and I tipped him for getting drinks and condiments
The food was very bland, didn’t have much flavor. Felt for the quality the price is a little high. I got the chicken marsala and the sauce was tasteless! Was disappointed. The restaurant has a nice vibe, decor is nice, was expecting better tasting food. For a waterpark resort restaurant it is decent food, much better than the food options at great wolf!
There were 7 people in our party. The food was delicious and fresh. The server was great, even brought out a birthday treat for the birthday girl.
The waitress was lovely, but the food was just a step above fast food - - Comparable to an Olive Garden. Kalahari is a kid's place, so we weren't expecting fine dining.
The bread for the table was cold. It took a very long time for our server to check back at our table. When our dinner was received there was very little fish and no lobster in the fra diavlo. It took over 30 minutes to attempt to fix the order and there were a few clams and mussels brought over on the side instead of a whole new dish. 1 guest in y party ate long after everyone else at the table.
Delightful surprise for a resort that feeds thousands of families each and every day!
The decor was lovely and the music was perfect for an Italian restaurant. I wish that we could say as positive things for the rest of the experience. Our server was frazzled and forgetful. The food was mediocre at best. But, the Spaghetti Carbonara I ordered was disgusting and how is that even possible for such a simple dish?! It was WAAAYYY over salted and far too much garlic, even for a garlic lover like me. I couldn’t eat it and offered it around to others at my table. They all agreed and refused to eat it as well. The other appetizers and entrees were just so-so, but the common theme was far too much garlic and salt. The chocolate cake was divine, but I’m guessing they outsource the desserts. On top of that, they include a 20% for a table of 5. We never tip under 20%, but didn’t feel it was fair not to have the option in light of poor service. Absolutely NOT worth the cost! Or even, not worth it at all.
Appetizers and entrees were good. Lasagna Bolognese was quite tasty. Noise factor pretty loud between the music, fellow diners and high ceilings..
They should change their name to Saltino’s EVERYTHING WAS VERY SALTY.
Overpriced, not a big menu
Service took a long time,
Brought everything out at once and then forgot about us
Food was ok
Calamari was too salty and rubbery. Mozzarella garlic bread was almost burnt. Our entrees were great though!!
The place is adorable, the drinks were delicious. Food is a bit salty for my taste but otherwise good and nice portions. The manager, Christina, is darling and very warm and hospitable. We are new to the area and will definitely be back!
I ordered meatballs and spaghetti lost my appetite the spaghetti was cold and meatballs was not fully cooked.
Our waiter was amazing but everything else was horrible. We had fra diablos and a kids meatball the meatball was raw after we cut into it and instead of giving up a new one they recooked the old one. Then 3 of the clams in the Fra Diablo were not open and they used the same clams cracked them open and reheated them.
Had a reservation
Justin was our waiter
Very knowledgeable and even offered suggestions
Everything was timed perfectly and the apps and 4 kids meals and 2 adults were delicious
A much better experience than our visit over 2 years ago.
Job well done!
Wonderful service, great food. Would definitely recommend
Food ran late food was burnt had great experience 2 days before but larger family nit good at all
Apps were amazing, drinks were good also. We waited an hour for our entrees. When they came not one dish was good. It was as if it sat under the warming lights for far to long and everything had a hard crust on top. They did make it right, but it was to late for them to remake it.
Perfectly decent Italian food for a waterpark. They were very busy but service did not lack. We dined with four people and the apps were very good. Three out of four entrees were good but the Eggplant was very dried out. Overall, we enjoyed and would definitely eat here again.
Food was amazing! Service could have been much better, but everyone was very polite. Specifically enjoyed the Caprese Salad as Mozarella tasted very fresh!
Best dinner we’ve had ! Excellent food, and service was perfect. Went to eat with our 3 year old and the server was able to bring out his food with the appetizer.
Service was excellent. We went late at night and our waiter was great. Very funny and personable. Food was amazing. Would definitely eat here again the next time we're at Kalahari!
