My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed SCB. Service, food, and value were tops! We’ll definitely go back again.

Only concern was - why not 100 points earned for this dinner on Open Table

Ideal location for those of us who don't want to avoid crowds on sidewalks. Just 1 blk off N Michigan Ave. Excellent wines by glass--reasonably priced. Terrific happy service. Great for locals.

Loved it! The ribs , Mac n cheese. Butternut squash soup was delicious. Server Christopher was very attentive. Luckily had great weather and dined outside.

Overall it was solid, ribs were excellent. We didn’t get any pickles when we sat down which we were looking forward too. The chef came over after and apologized and said we have to ask for them, we will next time. They were good.


One weird this is the restroom is about a 1/2 block away from the tables, you’ll see. It’s wild.

It was beautiful to sit outside on patio. The food was amazing & the service was excellent!!! Went back the next day for lunch with friends.

It was a perfect day for dining alfresco. There wasn't a whisper of wind, nor a cloud in the sky, with the temperature hovering right around 73. The service was good. The food too was good. It was a nice lunch, and felt a little bit like "normal" whatever that is .

Loved the wings. Jalapeño cornbread was delicious but not at all spicy. Great but slow service. Drinks were overpriced. Did a carry out a second day. Went back a 3rd day to dine again but due to protesting they closed early.

Ribs were outstanding. I’d definitely order their ribs for take out.

Try it you'll love it. Friendly and efficient restaurant with delicious food.

Neighborhood good southern cuisine!

Very good barbeque with friendly, professional service.

Restaurant information said our reservation was for outdoor seating, but when we arrived, we were told no outdoor seating was available. Service was uneven and it took a long time to get food, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Once it arrived, food was under seasoned and mediocre. There’s much better Southern and barbecue food to be had in Chicago.

Great service and food, we dine here monthly and have never been disappointed.

This was our first time and we will definitely return. The food was quite good, sans the baked beans which were a little more saucy than I’d prefer. We had several different cocktails, all were excellent. Service was fantastic.

Would not recommend to anyone. Bad food, bad service, extremely expensive.

Highly recommend this place. They offered amazing patio service that was safe and accommodating for distancing. Their bbq is amazing!!

So, it’s quite difficult to rate the noise level and some of the other categories due to it being the beginning stages of reopening from Covid, but everything was very good and for what we had, it was a good value.

We were there the night before and took home their special, which was a whole smoked chicken with two sides( we had the Mac and Cheese and the baked bean, which were good, the Mac and Cheese could have had a bit more flavor, but the beans were tasty). You can’t beat that meal for $24, the chicken was extremely moist and flavorful.

Food was mediocre. Service was pretty good and the staff were very nice. I just didn't think the meal was all that great.

The service was fantastic. This was my first time going and the food wad perfect. The ribs fell right off the bones. We did not have to wait long for our food to arrive after placing the order. It's a wonderful place for date night. Not to pricy but w well worth the money. I will definitely go again!

I liked the menu selection and the fact that the food wasn't oversmoked.

This restaurant is very welcoming. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I was meeting with a friend whom I had not seen for a couple of years and we had a lot of catching up to do. The wait staff was not pushy and allowed us more than ample time to chat before we placed our orders.
We both had their Brisket and Beans Chili as an appetizer. Not only was it absolutely delicious, it came with a small piece of their incredible jalapeño cornbread which is very tasty. My friend had a three meat platter and I had the chopped brisket and a jalapeño &cheese sausage link. All of our food was very tasty and it was enough so that neither of us had room for any dessert.

We were there for lunch on a Thursday. Given that this was during a convention, I figured it would be full. However, the place was fairly quiet, which was fine, plus we did not feel rushed for them to turn the tables over.

Great barbeque for the middle of Chicago. We like it so much we went back a second night. Service is a little slow but then again I'm from NY!

Good food, service and atmosphere. Available beers were perfect to accompany their BBQ pulled pork, beef and chicken.

So disappointed in this place. Service was slow despite not being busy at all, we were served dirty glassware with our drinks, the server ordered the incorrect food for one of our guests, we were charged for the incorrect item and then told it was the same price as what was ordered so I had to ask her to double check. It ended up being a $4 difference so had we not said anything we would have paid for ribs and not the brisket. The brisket was terribly dry. While the manager was pleasant and attempted to make it right with a free dessert, the dessert we were sent home with (banana Creme pie) was near flavorless and tasted as if it was old. I hate to say it but we will never go back. Quite a shame. Lesson learned on this one. Just listen to the reviews!

Great service, nice staff. We were able to make a reservation online. We were greeted right away when we walked and we were able to sit at a table promptly. It was a very nice atmosphere. My only complaint would be your sandiwisches did not come with fries or chips, that was extra. However, the food was great and so were the portions.

The food was good. But our biggest disappointment was the service. We felt that we were an intrusion to our server’s day. The service was slow and somewhat grudging. Our food was served, but we couldn’t eat it because we had to wait to be given our napkins and silverware. We had asked for it before and after the food was served. This was not a good way to spend our family Christmas Day dinner.

Went for a small bit to eat to hold us over till dinner. Parmesan garlic fries were very good. Spinach artichoke did was decent.
