Located on the edge of Rittenhouse Square and Graduate Hospital neighborhoods of Philadelphia, SouthGate is a twist on the traditional gastropub. Elevating food and drink in a modern but in an approachable way, the menu and the décor of Southgate are heavily influenced by both our Korean roots as well as modern American culture, preferring to be interesting and friendly rather than trendy.

The menu consists of a wide range of options, including several vegetarian meals. Popular dishes include Korean fried chicken, bulgogi burger, dumplings and buns, and assorted banchan. In addition to the delectable cuisine, Southgate offers an extensive drink menu that includes cocktails, wine, spirits and an extensive craft beer list.

Always a treat! Grab a pair of small plates or an entree and you’ll leave filled. Serves really know the menu when it comes to allergens (gluten, shellfish, etc). Good beer selection and solid cocktails.

Our waiter/bartender made my requested drink for the first time and it was awesome. All of the staff are friendly and helpful and lovely. Excellent food and value.

Very great food and staff. Incredibly loud though! A reservation doesn’t guarantee a table right away - they may sit you at the bar for a while.

We sampled a bunch of small plates instead of doing larger meals. Everything was delicious. Large portion sizes! Which made the prices very fair. Really enjoyed the umma cocktail. Our server Laurel was new to the restaurant but you'd never know it! She was helpful in guiding our choices and very attentive making it a great experience!

Exceptional service. Staff was friendly and polite. Took their time explaining the menu. Offered suggestions and made our dining experience enjoyable. Food was delicious!! Would highly recommend!
