Fish overcooked/ staff didnt check back to see if food ok

Great lunch yesterday very COVID safe, service a little slow but great staff.

Nice surroundings good service average prices could be better

Lovely roast turkey dinners ,very well cooked. Relaxed atmosphere and great surroundings. Polite waiters in attendance. Great afternoon.

Overall the experience was good but Spikes Bar did not have a sufficient staff on at lunchtime to cover the tables booked

I am not too keen on the chips however, love the gammon, would prefer with the larger portion there would be 2 eggs rather then one. Omelettes very good as are some of the specials.

One of Dorset's hidden gems! Spikes is located in an idyllic area. The food, service, and general ambience belie the modest prices charged.

Spike has been a firm favourite of mine for many years now.

Was the the only two people in the restaurant so was very quite, but as i always bring my friend here I knew it was because we had only just came out of lockdown.
This is the o my place myself and my friends feel safe.

Last night before Lockdown so several of the dishes had sold out. However, the meals selected were up to the usual good standard and value.
Unfortunately there was a large party who were extremely noisy.
Will return again when the bistro reopens.

Was, as usual very good all round. I would definitely recommend Spikes to other people.

Miserable weather was soon forgotten due to the good service. The food was very good although digestive problems prevented me from enjoying to the full. Must go back soon so that I can enjoy what I missed.

Very disappointed to see paper menus not thrown away after use.

We had our usual omelette, salad and chips served by our usual friendly, helpful waiter. Food was delicious and nicely presented and the view out over the golf course stunning.

Excellent varied menu -spoilt for choice so will have to back to try more dishes. Excellent service and friendly staff.

The only comment I would make is my partner didn't think the 2 metre rule had been observed. The people on the next table to us were not 2 metres from us. Neither of us mind, but we did think you should be following the guidelines, I wouldn't like to think of you being closed down because of it. Otherwise we had a lovey time

We went here for a girls lunch on Saturday, as one is a member and suggested we meet here. On arrival the waiter’s attitude was dismissal, pointing to our table. A 40 minute for a cocktail. The daily special, seared Tuna steak, was frozen, over cooked, it took 25 mins for another to arrive, this also was over cooked and stone cold uncooked in the middle. By which time all my friends had finished their food. 2 others had tuna, and coated it in the sauce to make it edible. The waiters attitude was not what one would except.. a huff and took the plate away!! Unfortunately we won’t be going again.

The food was exceptional and plentiful! It would be nicer to have more of an ambience with music and softer lighting. We had a little mishap with our wine but it was sorted very efficiently and no fuss. We all felt COVID-safe and The Dudsbury follows guidelines well. Very enjoyable.

Took my lady to lunch at Spikes for the first time, hope it shall not be the last as I want to return for an evening dinner. Service, menu, food all very good, very well priced.

We are two elderly women who wanted a tasty lunch for a reasonable price in a pleasant environment. We sat in the conservatory surrounded by a wonderful view. The staff were helpful and efficient and friendly. We both chose the omelette which was served with a nice salad, coleslaw and super chips. It was just what we wanted and it looked attractive and tasted delicious. We had a really well insulated cafetier of filter coffee to follow. It was just what we wanted and great value too.

We would like to see a good steak on the menu permanently.

Procedure for covid 19 very good, felt safe there.

We where welcomed when we arrived, showed to a table near a window where we had a wonderful view over the golf course . Quick service, menu bought order taken , food delivered,! Food excellent, a very happy experience with my cousin who was 94 years old,she enjoyed it very much..Thanks to all concerned.

We booked a table for breakfast. Totally ignored when we arrived. No covid clean tables. The took 30 mins to order. The breakfast came. Scrambled eggs cold. No condiments. We asked for another round of coffees which were forgotten. It was so hot in the conservatory everyone asked for the doors/ windows to be opened but couldnt because of craneflies. Never return.

Limited menu but good quality and value for money.

Not the best steak I’ve eaten!! The burger and scampi were very tasty. The service was a little slow too.

We always enjoy going to the Golf Club, the staff are helpful and friendly and the delicious food is excellent value for money.

I enjoyed my 3rd visit her in past month, The service was very slow, due to being busy. SHAME YOU ONLY SEEM TO HAVE ONE SPECIALS BLACKBORAD AS YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT IS FINISHED WITH BEFORE ORDERING.Condiments did not arrive until our meal was well underway.oVERALL WAS AN ENJOYEABLE MEAL, WE HAD 3 COURSES, BUT WAS THERE FROM 1PM UNTIL NEARLY 3PM, SUE TO SLOW SERVICE.

We throughly enjoyed our lunch with a good menu to choose from. We were in the Orangery which was a lovely embeonce

there was 4 of us. We all had main , and sweet, Coffee. all the plates were clean.
