Square Grill House Restaurant & Piano Bar in the heart of Bath.

Open for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and afternoon drinks. Throughout the day the terrace by Abbey Square and lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink and nibbles. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner to serve our signature dishes with the best local produce. Our resident Pianist and DJ will begin, and cocktails will flow.

The restaurant is beautiful with venetian walls, banquettes upholstered in leather and marble feel tables.

    Table of 4, food was not good overall and the manager blamed the fact it was busy. One meal was replaced but just as terrible. It was taken off the bill but we would not return again.

    We went for a meal with friends last night. The food was delicious. I absolutely loved the pianist and singer they really enhanced the whole experience. Our waitress was very efficient and polite

    We had booked a table for two but we're placed on a table next to the door. I sat indoors with a blanket on my legs for the meal. I would have thought that they would have tried to offer us another table but that was not the case. Food ok.

    Table for 2 in the window was very cramped. The full English breakfast was superb- could have been hotter though. The mocha I ordered was not great… bitty - asked for it to be heated up but they had no microwave- which is a good sign for the food. I would return, but ask for a different table.

    A table for six on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon. Our table overlooked the pump rooms and the beautiful Christmas tree. The staff are great, very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. Food was fabulous, the chicken on the specials was really lovely. We all had a great time.

    Food was lovely, although for the Meat sharing platter for £80 didn't have enough salad for 2 people & the chips were hardly enough for 2 people. The rest of the food was lovely. Noise level was hard to endure as the party next to us were oblivious to the noise they were making, which averaged a constant 80dB (measured it!!) This is the upper threshold were ear protection is required in a work environment! That aside, the service & servers were lovely.

    Excellent service with an attentive waitress. Ambience was pleasant with a background pianist. Food was a mixed bag with calamari completely overdone and tortellini served cold. Overall 3 stars out of 5 due to the food really letting this place down.

    Wow! What an amazing venue to eat at! Great service, smiley friendly members of staff, thoroughly enjoyed the whole time I was there! Food was exceptional - I had the crab linguine - Devine - yay! a chef that actually tastes their food… I will be back - well done to you all for making going out for food an absolute delight!

    We had high expectations of the Square Grill and it didn’t disappoint us! All of the food was exquisite, the service was second to none and the pianist, who could play pretty much anything, was the icing on the cake and created such a great atmosphere that we stayed there until closing. A fabulous night. We absolutely loved it!

    It was well served and the food was tasty but I. think overpriced. Three sandwiches. chips as a stuffs and 4 drinks nearly £80. The fire alarm went off and didn't stop for several minutes. Tables close together and narrow winding stairs. Toilets clean and well stocked and lovely friendly staff.

    The food was delicious the staff were perfect and accommodating for 6 noisy mature ladies. There was a pianist who encouraged our rowdy singing and didn't want us to leave. Would highly recommend a visit for food or just a drink and a sing song

    Our waitress was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. We were put on the top floor, and there was a piano/singer on the ground floor and we could hear it through a speaker. It was very loud not the best vocal and needed to be turning down and there must have been 15 birthdays on the night! Happy Birthday sung every 10 minutes!! :) Food was good, but over ruled by the Karaoke singing on the Piano.

    Entertaining evening, ambience excellent and a little loud,we were next but one to the piano, my only criticism is the food, was portion size good, average cooked for the price so therefore I felt overpriced in particular the calamari starters @ £14.00 , £5.00 for bread basket, again for the money the balsamic was poor.

    Imaginative and well cooked menu. I had the Lobster Rissotto, which was yummy but a bit conservative with the lobster, only 6-8 tiny pieces. However the service made up for this. It has beautiful decor and the ambiance with the Piano player was lovely. My husband had the Fillet Steak and said it was the best he’d ever had.

    We had a very good Sunday lunch sitting inside at a small table by the window. The staff were punctilious and the food delicious and well presented.

    We sat outside on a busy Sunday for brunch and the atmosphere was amazing - great views of the abbey and a violinist playing in the square - perfect. Staff were all very friendly, but got a few things wrong and we had to keep asking for the special requests we’d ordered (eg gluten free bread) even though we’d included this in the booking. The food was lovely when it came out and was a good selection available for brunch. We had to ask what was in the smoothies though as it’s not listed on the menu - and had to ask a couple of times as staff didn’t know. Overall we would go back, as the place and food were great, and although the staff attitude was great, it felt like they need to invest a little in their staff to get the higher quality service

    Lovely meal out with my adult daughter on a Saturday night. We sat inside so got to appreciate the “piano man”. Food and service was excellent would recommend and will visit again when next in Bath.

    Food was very mediocre. Overcooked butterfly prawns and most main courses were lukewarm. Very attentive waiting staff and lovely ambiance with the piano player.

    A table of 10, 3 babies and 3 buggies. We took up so much room and got in the way, but the staff were so accommodating and made us feel welcome. Thank you, we had a lovely lunch

    We visited Square Grill for the first time on a weekend away and we were not disappointed. Fantastic, attentive service, amazing food and an excellent entertainer

    Great atmosphere, menus had a good amount of choice. We settled for the meat feast. The quality of the meat couldn’t have been better. Really enjoyed the sauces and salad that accompanied it. The service was great, attentive but not intrusive. Live piano and good singer enhanced the whole evening.
