The Squire’s Landing - Sydney
Expensive for what it is. A busy dining room upstairs of a pub with sub standard service. The wood roasted pork was served to two guests. Dish was cold, tough, undercooked.
the Sri Lankan curry was beautiful
would definitely come again
Really enjoyed our dinner here. My husband and I came for date night and the restaurant did not disappoint. I asked for a good view and though there was a cruise ship there that night, they still chose us a great seat with a view of harbour bridge.
The grilled barramundi was excellent and the deconstructed banofee pie was so yummy!
The staff and service were exceptional. We love the ambience of the restaurant and the fact that the bar downstairs is fun with live music. Best of both worlds.
The food was lovely and well presented. Prices are a little high but for a special occasion I would highly recommend the restaurant.
A terrific location if a cruise ship is not at the berth.
Beautiful views and really attentive staff. Food was delicious and perfect portion sizes!
Food was definitely not worth the money. They had ran out of many things for a saturday night, we also ordered the pear martini which they ran out of and made apple instead of asking if that is what we wanted first. Food over priced, view is nice though and service was nice.
It was a first date occasion and the service from the staff was exceptional. A lovely experience. Unfortunately a ship was docked overnight so the view towards the Opera House was blocked but nonetheless was an awesome evening.
Went with a work group and had to add extras to our table, staff had no problems with the changes, very accomodating
It felt very expensive for what we received.
The restaurant is also very noisy so hard to hold a conversation without yelling.
We booked in advance and booked table by window so our visiting colleagues could enjoy the view of the opera house. A cruise ship was docked so there was no view, appaerntly this occurs quite frequently. It would be useful if you advised when booking of the cruise ship timetable.
The food was great as well as services. Views were outstanding.
Hostess unfriendly. Have a BS a reason for not giving us requested table despite my reserving several days in advance an requesting a table with a view
The Squire's Landing is our go to restaurant specially with family and friends. The food is great, service is excellent and view is awesome (without the cruise ship). We will surely be back, specially on special occasions.
It was all round excellent - the booking link that came up for requests did not go through for a birthday plus view request.
Very attentive and professional staff. Made for a great experience. Overseas visitors loved the atmosphere and food, and I appreciated the quick attention I had received when sending an email inquiry. Great service throughout the process.
Fantastic food and great service with unbeatable views. Was no trouble bringing in a birthday cake and having it served and cut for us. Would definitely recommend for any special occasion!
Had an unfortunate meal of the day there. They served smelly shellfish in the seafood fettuccini. Stinky smell were coming from the dishes but no one cared. Staffs were busy hanging with their mates so no waiting staffs to ask for a service. Kitchen sent us a complimentary desert but it was a little late to recover the ruined day of my niece and mother from oversea. Not recommended if you need to have a meal with someone important.
Very nice and comfortable place, with perfect views to the bay (bridge and Opera). Since the very beginning feeling very well served by all the waiters/waitresses.
Delicious dishes, drinks and very good price-quality ratio. Fully recommended!
Venue with great views.
Service was unattentive, pour own wine after first pour, wine finished not asked if we wanted another. Once meal are brought we wouldn't see staff again. Had to go up and ask for additional drinks.
Food all up good, though the pork fillets had to sent back as it was cooked right through and was dry as. Alternative meal was provided which was a Barra fillet which was nicely cooked but plain.
We were seated in the corner right next to the waiter station while a table was free a row up from the window and view. We had no view and were in fact squished into the corner and couldn’t see the view at all.
While food was pricey, I didn’t find it value for money. Seems as though paying for finer dining and receiving an average feed.
Have however heard great things about the pub section, but wouldn’t recommend the restaurant.
Almost felt as though we were rushed out with how fast food was served even with different courses.
An amazing view of the Harbour, great choice of food , we had lamb and pork and an excellent bottle of Shiraz from Hunter Valley
Excellent service from someone from Hanwell in UK
I loved our dinner choices I personally don’t like large servings - these sizes were just right and full of flavour. However if you are hungry get the lamb shoulder, it was amazing, too big for one person but perfect for us all to have a taste.
Simply an amazing view with great beers on tap. However, the food, although a nice creative menu, was lack lustre. The steak was overcooked, and the salmon very overcooked and dry. For the prices charged I expected better attention to detail on being able to cook it correctly. Other than that, the view made the occasion worthwhile.
Tolle Aussicht, gutes Essen, Top Service
A great place for a night in SYDNEY. The staff & view were fantastic. The food is ok.
Thiago was amazing! Thanks for a great dining experience.
Great view and food
Ground level is nice and provides great beers but the restaurant on first level is not really recommended in terms of food quality. It tasted below average even though the price was expensive. I remember it was better when I visited last year. I don’t what’s been changed but the quality of service and food was not worth for the price 🥱
The view and cocktail were nice tho
We received a table with a great view of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge that was secluded from all of the noise coming from the rest of the restaurant. The wait staff was nice and attentive to our group. The food was great and came in a timely manner. I've had the beer before, so I knew that the beers were good also. Overall great experience - great food, great people, and great location.
Thank you for an amazing lunch with a million dollar view and exceptional service!!!!
The steak pork and fish were fabulous and well complimented by the more than ample sides BUT the view across the harbour was out of this world and one not to be missed
The food was really nice. One of the best piece of meat I've ever had. A stunning view of the Opera House. The service was wonderful. I highly recommend.
Great location with stunning views of the opera house and the bridge. Good menu selection with the lamb shoulder a standout. Excellent selection of James Squires beers on tap too.
The food there is too over priced considering the quality or the portion of the dish they serve. We ordered salmon dish (totally dry and tasted burnt, barely edible), pasta and a few entrees with a bottle of wine and a few dessert drinks which cost us $300. The only benefit of this restaurant is the view of opera house and it was totally blocked with the cruise when we visited. Wouldn’t visit again or recommend anyone around.
Super service, food was generally good. Even when there is a ship docked there is still a view of the bridge do good for out of towners.
Fantastic view, just so long as there isn’t a great big cruise liner blocking your view of the Opera House. We had a friend visiting from overseas and thought this would be the best place for a view of both the SHB and the Opera House, but the ship blocked a good portion of the view. Very disappointing! Also one dish (very expensive fillet eye steak) was awful. It was a terrible cut, filled with gristle. Waitress was also less than friendly. The bar area under the restaurant looked more appealing (although louder as there was way more people down there) and their staff was much friendlier.
My steak was raw with fat throughout. Food was poor quality. Generally a poor dining experience.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was amazingly well cooked, consistently. I couldn’t fault a dish. Just wish we had room to try the dessert too!
