St. Anselm - DC
cool spot! would like to come back and try more of the dishes
This place just does not disappoint. Amazing wine list
Excellent service & food - we shared a steak and added too many sides. The cucumber salad and biscuits were delicious and was more than enough to share.
It was OK nothing special.
Got together for Sunday Brunch w/my cousins from center-city Phila who are used to eating at high-end restaurants, including Stephen Starr restaurants. They (and I) were extremely impressed w/everything about St.Anselm: excellent food, excellent service & great decor & ambiance. Biscuits were to-die-for! As were the hash brown...more like potato latkes. Service very accommodating, I appreciated that our server was willing to make hot chocolate (w/whipped cream) even tho it’s not on the menu. Overall excellent & fun dining experience before heading over to Union Market.
This is a great place for brunch and I’m sure for all other meals that they serve. We also love their place in Brooklyn.
We were sat 30 minutes late to our table and the team didn’t seem to think that was an jssje
Nice but a bit loud.
My first yo time dining at St. Anselm but definitely won’t be my last. Love the decor and atmosphere. Went for brunch and satisfied with my burger but LOVED the money bread! Perfect compliment to our coffee. Can’t wait to return.
We had a fabulous dinner with great service. The sommelier was wonderful and we selected a bottle from a California.
It was my birthday and it was perfect. The food was terrific, our waitress was amazing, and we were in a back room that wasn't too loud. We loved it. We will be back.
Love this place! Ive been here 4 times and have never had anything but a great experience. The food and service and perfect. Great job! Cant wait to come back~
We had the tuna, skirt steak and strip steak au poivre. All cooked perfectly to order. Our only guidance, don't fill up on the fabulous biscuits!
We LOVED our experience! They were very kind to us for our anniversary and were so lovely! The food was incredible!
The food was great. We came for brunch. We especially loved the monkey bread and the crab omelette. Great drinks too.
The chairs are very uncomfortable though!
Had a very tasty meal, but the restaurant might have been overhyped. Salmon Collar was rich and tasty, but very basic. Tuna Steak was overly peppery. Mushrooms and Mashed Potato sides were good, but unspectacular. Smoked Burrata salad was also tasty.
The two highlights of the meal were the biscuits (which were out of this world) and the Chocolate Pot de Creme. Great wine list, as well.
Would definitely come back again, but after hearing everyone rave about St. Anselm was hoping for something more.
Great brunch menu and great food to go along with it.
BISCUITS. Everything was excellent. Great service, super comfortable, interesting design. Can’t recommend it enough. Top notch.
Couldn’t have been better. Sam made great recommendations and we loved it all. We were warned, the chicken come whole..head feet and all.
Our server was phenomenal and gave great recommendations! Food was perfect as always.
Ottima atmosfera, ottimo cibo (specificatamente la carne e i sides) anche se menu limitato, servizio preciso, cordiale e disponibile. Unica pecca, molto rumoroso e difficonta' di conversazione con i commensali.
We were 15 minutes late for our reservations, still had to wait about 15 minutes because the were slammed. The wait staff and manger went repeatedly out of their way to apologize and comped us with an appetizer for having to wait. The service and constant attention by the staff was amazing. The food was wonderful - ribeye for me and crab leg for my wife. We shared creamed spinach and fried mashed potatoes. A wonderful evening because the staff went out of their way to make sure that it was. Thank you.
That my second there in about 6 weeks I will be spending a lot more time there for sure
Every single time I go to St. Anselm, it is fantastic. The food and service are always incredible, and the ambience is perfectly relaxed. Abby, our server, is a total gem and made sure we had a very fun evening (and a great time when we went back to have the biscuits and pimento cheese again for lunch the next day...). I truly can’t recommend a better place in DC.
Best biscuits ever. Solid meal and just an overall excellent casual dining experience.
We had a wonderful time! The food and atmosphere are great!
St Anselm has become a routine brunch spot for the fellas and I. Big Mike is the consummate professional. The bartenders are above reproach and the food is always top notch.
St. Anslem was amazing. The overall ambiance is great, the food was delicious, and the service was perfect. I had the ribeye and she had the New York strip, and both were cooked to perfection. Can't recommend St. Anslem enough.
Fantastic meal. Outstanding service. Venison was tender and delicious. The rib eye slightly overcooked but still juicy and flavorful. Amazing wine list. Rooms are loud but we will be back.
Service was excellent as was the wine list and wine recommendation. The noise level was high but it was possible to hear although my partner and I were seated side by side. The main issue was the tableware and my steak. The opinal knives were almost useless against my NY strip steak which it was unusually hard to cut the tendons in the meat. Also my steak was under cooked.
Birthday and family gathering
Food and service were amazing but the acoustics are awful
Second time I went to this place and I ordered the same dish, grits with fried oysters. It was delicious. My friend got the eggs Benedict with salmon and it was very tasty too. We will definitely go back! A place for foodies!
The food was a clever riff on the traditional brunch fare, the drinks were tasty good and the service was lovely. The decor is really fun - interesting historical and political artifacts abound. A great meet-up restaurant!
Best steak I’ve had in awhile!! Great service, food delivered extremely fast even though the restaurant was packrd
Service was excellent. The axe handle ribeye is one of the best in the city. Wine list is extensive, eclectic, excellent. Madeira selection is expansive and fun. We’ve been many times and last week we went two nights in a row - one of our favorites places!
