Stanley's Bar and Grill
Great place for casual dinner before Christmas train, nice patio for summer.
Taking advantage of last sunny weekend in October, we checked out the Bar's HH: Onion rings were bit skimpy but crispy and tasty for "finger food". Would come back to try the fish & chips or burgers - not to mention nice patio deck. The grounds are beautiful with the rose garden still in bloom.
Enjoyed a beautiful day in the park and was hoping for a great lunch. I was greeted and at a table swiftly, and one inside as the wind was out that day. I ordered the fish and chips. Unfortunately the fish was really greasy, the batter was not too thick, but I removed it as it was just too much grease. The chips were fine. The door to the porch was left open so my table and another had a strong breeze that quickly cooled our food. I would not go back. The service was great, too bad the food was not.
Very convenient for meal before TUTS performance. Chowder was excellent! Service was friendly and attentive.
Theatre under the stars but I would definitely recommend dining here for any occasion.
The food was good. The server was attentive and professional. Nice setting fir dinner prior to attending Theatre Under the Stars.
We’ve been eating here for Years before watching performances and it has consistently been an excellent beginning to a wonderful evening.
Great service and atmosphere. The staff really understand the need to move things along so we all get done our meals before the TUTS show begins. Food was good.
Good service. Food served promptly. Salmon done to perfection.
A wonderful place for lunch or dinner in the Park!
Perfect patio seating.....definitely busy although not loud. Server was wonderful.
Ordered appies and shared, all were tasty and plentiful!
We were off to see a performance at Theatre Under The Stars, so Stanley's Bar & Grill was recommended as it was right beside the place. We had great service, and the staff ensured we had enough time to catch the performance as well. Thanks for a great evening!
We have been going to this restaurant every year when we attend TUTS. It's very convenient for the show which is the main reason we choose it.
The menu choices are good - no complaints about that. The portions aren't overly generous but the main comment is that the food could be prepared better. The pasta was overcooked and mushy. There should be offers to have fresh cracked pepper or parmesan for the pasta.
The server was energetic, friendly and provided great service.
The gentleman whom served us was on top of everything and we did not wait long fir anything. Very nice ambiance on the patio, beautiful area and so convenient for attending a show after at the Malkin Bowl. I would definitely be back again.
Great casual dining with tasty food. We go here regularly prior to Theatre Under the Stars
This was the perfect place for us to have our dinner before going to see a performance at TUTS! We used OpenTable to make our reservation and as we couldn't make one for 6 people (booking just on night prior) I was able to reserve a table for 2 and my husband a table for 4. We were very pleased to find that the restaurant had figured out we were most likely together and had already made our table combined for 6 people! Thank you
Great place to eat! Beautiful setting! Get a reservation well in advance for sure. The server was professional, efficient and friendly. Front staff were friendly, but a little confusing in the handling of our reservation. In the end, all worked out well and we very much enjoyed our experience and do intend to dine here again.
It’s a lovely location, food is good pub type food. Did I mention the great location. Love this type of casual dining. What better place than the heart of Stanley Park.
Stanley's bar and Grill was very pleasant, the service excellent, a lovely location in Stanley Park, the deck was great on a sunny evening. The food was good, I would say not outstanding, but good pub food. The only negative was that the washrooms could have been a little cleaner.
I would definitely return for a good casual meal.
Excellent as always. Bith the food and craft beer selection on tap. Very convenient to TUTS.
The setting is lovely ..the food was very poor very disappointing . The service was friendly .. now please fix the food .it was on par with hospital food
Had the garden salad and added salmon to it. The salad was good but the salmon was quite dry.
Food was excellent ... my daughters order arrived completely wrong.. quickly fixed though. As it was a theatre night we did feel as though the waiter was rushing us through. We planned our night and made our reservation with plenty of time to get to the show but we felt rushed to place our order and get on with our meal.
Deck as crowded and at one point others guests were standing over us while waiting for their table...making us a bit uncomfortable
Food was not great. Both of us had the beef and mushroom pie. More like gravy with a few small pieces of mushroom and a bit of shredded beef. The chowder was almost all potato - was expecting at least some seafood. This restaurant is obviously not looking for repeat business, just the tourist trade.
We went on a TUTS night, so understandably it was busy and noisy. Two of our party work as servers at other restaurants, and they noticed the poor service here.
The menu did not include Senior’s portions as advertised on their website.
It was a busy night, was expecting a delay but food came out quickly, $23 for not great fish and chips was a bit much and in August the seasonal crumble, was expecting some kind of berry, but was surprised it was apple. Close to theatre, convenient but maybe better suited for a casual lunch than a nice dinner.
We love coming to Stanley's because of its great location and relaxed, friendly ambience. Our server wasl lovely, super with the one-year-old at the table. I had fish and chips and the fries could have been fresher. My husband had the salmon and said it was good, not great.
Yes, it was a great experience....a big thank you to Tiago (sorry, if I missed his name) but he was wonderful with us 4 Crazy Ladies....
For the amount of money charged per appetizer and meal, and the lack of appropriate service, I doubt I will be returning to Stanley's Bar we waited 15 minutes for someone to bring us our final bill because the staff was run off their feet.
The salmon I ordered was barely lukewarm, and had zero flavor aside from the minuscule amounts of sauce added to the dish.
For the $200 we spent for 4 guests to eat, I could've gone to another restaurant with better service and still had money leftover for desert.
The food wasn’t really good, so was the service. The only great thing about the place is an incredible location.
Long-term diner here - daughter always in TUTS - great place for pre-theatre drinks and dinner. Food is great; staff are courteous, friendly, efficient and know their menu well. As this is a child friendly place I always bring my grandchildren to dinner here after going on the Christmas train. Love the grilled cheese sandwich and seafood chowder. Will be there again August 24 with a group to see the last night of Mama Mia1
Thought making a reservation for 5:30pm would be a good idea as the theater show was to start at 7 PM beside the restaurant which my date & I would be attending. I was very disappointed with the table the restaurant provided. We were put beside a very large party with children and beside the kitchen door on the patio. Being a hot day we wanted to be on the patio and it seemed to me that people without reservations were given better tables & even tho I had a rez I could have no choice! Hostess said there were no other tables available on the patio!
We ended up being inside once we were told this information about availability. Won’t be going back.
Beautiful surroundings. We had a lovely table. Only complaint was our server who was never to be seen. Had to wait to find him in order to ask for our bill. But even this was minor since he was efficient when he did come around. Certainly worth dining here!!
Pleasant and enjoyable. Salmon was a little overdone but tasty. Busy place but the deck has a nice ambiance and everyone was friendly.
The service was good, the setting is picturesque and the location is great (r.e TUTS). My wife and I had Caesar salads, one with chicken and the other with salmon. Both salads were good but chicken and salmon were overdone.
Good - prompt and nice service. Food perfectly good.
Closing time of 8 pm feels a bit rushed ....
We shared the Bourbon BBQ chicken burger and the battered fish and chips. The burger was extremely tasty with the sweet/salty bourbon sauce providing the extra zip. The batter was light, the fish melt in your mouth. The yam fries were fantastic. Crisp/crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. John, our server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The Executive Chef came out of the kitchen and spent some time talking to the customers. Definitely recommend the restaurant.
This restaurant is the perfect spot to have dinner before TUTS. It has a relaxed and casual atmosphere. I had the salmon entree, and I thought the sticky rice was amazing! The salmon was good, but a bit plain. Overall, Stanley's has good food and excellent service, but it won't be the best meal you ever ate.
Excellent as always!!
