State & Main Kitchen + Bar - North Barrie

The staff at State and Main are amazing! Always friendly and efficient and very willing to accommodate. Recently I have had to wear a rather cumbersome wedge and sling and they have gone out of their way to ensure my comfort. Kudos.

We had an amazing lunch for my friends 50th birthday. We had a few different appetizers and mains and everything was excellent. They gave us a lovely ice cream cake for dessert on the house which was a very nice touch. Our server was very attentive and also helped to ensure that all of the Covid rules were followed. I highly recommend it.

Anniversary Dinner, we decided on this restaurant based on the menu. Our Server was fabulous, friendly, through, very safe with Covid protocols from start to finish. We felt comfortable and the food was delicious. Portions were generous, great value. Will be back!

Had dinner for the first time out in a while and state and main were practicing safe covid protocols and the food was good! Brussel sprout appetizer was delish and different! I did feel the cocktail I had was watered down a bit and was lacking flavour. But all in all a decent and clean place to eat.

A nice place to go,quiet,relaxed,not pushed through the evening.
The food is different from ribs and chicken like everywhere else. All unique.

I ate the fish tacos and they were delicious. They also suprised us with a birthday dessert.

Food was good. Little to loud though to try and have conversations.

Attentive service and good food, reasonably priced. Nice to be able to book a table on line. Only three dessert choices which was very disappointing so decided to go elsewhere for dessert.

Too many spicy options for someone who can't eat spicy foods. The long tables for U shape seating is terrible for conversation. Your white wine is not cold enough.

We had a great time , staff are always amazing. From Nikki the manager , to Nick and rest of bar staff and servers as well the hostess staff to great us!

I have eaten at State and Main a few times and have loved it each time. The pretzel app is fantastic and the tuna bowl is my go to!

Staff are great, friendly and accommodating

Went with a group of friends for dinner before attending a show at Georgian Theatre. Staff were friendly and helpful with beverage and food selections. The menu offers a good variety of well priced items. I particularly like the corn bread side with my meal however tonight it wasn't up to it's usual standard. Seems like something was missing from the corn bread. The California chicken wrap is a favourite. My wife enjoyed the Tuna tartar. The beef dip is a good choice and is a generous serving. Overall we enjoyed our experience here and even though we were a little late in arriving, they got us out on time to get to the show.

Disappointed for sure. Wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either. Went there for my birthday dinner. Dining room was nice, and music was good, but really quiet. Price was fairly decent, 80$ for 2 adults and 1 child, 1 appetizer, 2 drinks and 1 drink with alcohol.

But the food was only mediocre. I don't like chain restaurants for that reason, but wanted something my fussy family could enjoy as well. I ordered the spicy tuna poke bowl. Tasted ok, but super hot and looked like a bowl of something destined for the compost bin. I know it said spicy but wow. Felt like I needed a glass of milk or yogurt on the side.
The calamari wasn't bad and my drink was delicious (had the state smash: raspberry vodka muddled with raspberries, mint leaves and mango).

On a positive note, my 11 year old loved the place!

Enjoyed the happy hour appetizers. The food was flavourful and plentiful. Will be back. The only thing that could improve was that a birthday special occasion was stated when the reservation was made but no mention of it by the sever nor staff.

The only thing we were disappointed with or should I say say surprised was the amount of food received with the $33 steak dish. It states 10 oz and did mot seem 10 oz.

Great Steak salad and you can’t beat 1/2 price bottled wine Thursday’s. Excellent service!

Great restaurant. Thursday is 1/2 price bottle of wine. Can’t go wrong. Service was great as was the food. Highly recommended.

Food was great, staff were excellent and the pricing is fair. What else can you ask for?

I thought it was just OK but overpriced. My daughter had the veggie burger and didn't like it very much, it was kind of pasty/mushy. My burrito bowl was tasty but way too much rice filling up most of the bowl. The portions were generous and good atmosphere, just thought it was overpriced for an average meal and probably won't return.

Great night but really hard to hear friends talk. Very loud.

We had Michele as our waitress and she was wonderful! Very friendly and a fun atmosphere, I loved the selection of sports on your T.V's. Our food was great and it came out in a timely manner.
We live in the south end of Barrie off Mapleview Dr., but will consider the drive out to the east end to come back to State & Main.
Please send along to Michele that she was a great server and we would love to get her again on our next visit.
