Stillery Bar and Dining
Fantastic high tea - one of best ever! Fantastic waitress called Tammy. Highly recommend
Considering we were one of only two tables for dinner in the restaurant the service should have been very attentive, particularly as we were celebrating a birthday too. The table (along with most other tables) was set for breakfast (jams, no wine glasses, etc); the waitress asked for our food orders when she had only provided half the table with menus; disappeared for ages at a time, etc. On several occasions we had to pour our own wine and water. At the end of mains the wait was so long that I decided to enter the kitchen to get someone to attend to us!
The food was hit and miss and overall average.
Ridiculously poor service in any establishment let alone one that was so quiet and let alone an InterContinental! There’s too many other options to ever want to return. Why bother?
Very stylish place, quite for a weekday. Planning to return on weekend :)
It was a beautiful venue, however we thought the portion of the high tea was very small. You might leave there still feeling hungry...
Oriental High Tea was quite novel and tasty but nothing above and beyond for what you would expect from the Intercontinental hotel. Tea selection was poor, considering it was a High Tea. All the standard tea selections you would get at a cheap cafe. The Traditional High Tea that my friends had was delicious but not plentiful. They made an effort to make one gluten free and that was appreciated.
Service was slow and unhelpful at times. I felt sorry for the one girl who tried to do everything for the room full of guests. More staff should be available during busy times.
Overall though it’s a beautiful setting and we had a lovely time.
very poor service, food very little, and not fresh/ scones were dry and tasteless/ sandwich one each sweets are also not fresh. All together not worth the money what you get is worth $50.00 not$ 128.00 . Won't recommend to anyone to go there and have High Tea.
Thank you for a very nice evening with good food and services. We truly enjoyed it. Hope to visit again soon.
well priced pleasant meal quiet with attentive staff. would recommend when a light meal is required
Thanks so much.
We really enjoyed lovely sweets with fabulous staff members.
Very disappointing. We certainly won’t be going back.
The staff were excellent and I couldn't wish for better service.
Greeted by warm welcome.
Ambiance and service was a let down for this restaurant. Eg. Waitress did not have good knowledge of cocktail menu and the restaurant appeared too quiet and did not feel cosy despite the small space it was in.
Bar and food taste was good eg. Cocktails were nice and food had great taste.
Faultless cooking, wonderful, friendly and attentive service. The gin cocktails are awesome! Highly recommended.
The 4 Pillars Gin Dinner was a fabulous night. The Gin flowed freely and the choice of drinks to try was enticing, exciting and enjoyable.
The food was good. We plan to go just for meal next time to try the restaurant out.
The meal drinks and ambience were superb and great value
Amando’s service was great😊😊👍🏻👍🏻And afternoon tea was fantastic !
We went to The Stillery for high tea. The savoury was very average and the bread tasted stale. The sweets were nice. The service was terrible, only really spoken to at the beginning and end. Usually you are offered a top up of hot/cold water.
Thev venue itself was beautiful.
I was really looking forward to our lunch here - from the outside, the venue is beautiful, elegant, and with a gorgeous menu, wine and cocktail list.
Unfortunately, the meal itself was a real disappointment - my steak (requested: medium rare) was overcooked, my friends' meals similarly lacklustre, and the service really not particularly attentive (difficult to order more drinks, finished glasses left on the table, etc.) Perhaps it's because we were there mid-week, and the whole atmosphere was quiet, but it just wasn't what I'd expected from such a lovely place to be frantically waving to get attention.
Overall - I wouldn't return here.
Enjoyed high tea here mid-week. Good good, and plenty of it! An enjoyable way to pass the afternoon.....
Service was very poor. Made a booking and still waited 45 mins to get any food and had to ask twice to get our tea. We’d almost finished our food by the time the tea arrived. Didn’t even seem all that busy there but yet still had to wait for everything. Very limited tea menu for a High Tea and then couldn’t even provide one tea that was asked for. Food was average at best - the ‘hot’ food was served cold.
Beautiful place. Table was a bit low. Just need tea spoons that fit in the small mousse.
Amazing high tea and excellent service. We really enjoyed our time there.
Was a pleasant night , menu very good and good very tasty ......overall service a little lacking .Wine menu limited
Up there with my favourite dining experiences. We had a three course dinner with flavours designed to pair perfectly with the included G&T cocktail. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I especially loved the Gin Chicken main and G&T lemon tart for dessert. Would highly recommend dining here for a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday. The wait staff were lovely and the intimate atmosphere/setting is perfect.
Had a Ladies Day out and thought High Tea at Stillery would be great. However, it was quite disappointing and service pretty lacking. They charged an extra $9 dollars for a second cup of tea ( in previous High Tea experiences, I have had as many teas or coffees as we want with the High Tea. Also, very limited in tea choices. We had a fun time but wouldn' t go back, there are better choices.
For $150 per head (only entre and main) i expected more. The entres (both got sashimi) came out too quickly and was dry, like it had been prepped earlier, it didn't feel fresh. The mains were very boring. Chicken with not much flavor around it and beef tenderloin i could have made myself at home. Nothing was terrible, it was just very under-whelming for the price. And also considering we could have gone to Sake downstairs for the same money and 10 times the quality.
Elegant environment. Staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. Food was exceptional and beautifully presented. A perfect dining experience.
Exceeded my expectations. Most exciting food I've sampled in a while, from the butter at the start to the basil sponge dessert at the end. A refined, comfortable setting on the first floor. I can't wait to return to sample some of the other innovative items on the menu!
I think the $65 charged per person for Afternoon Tea was overwhelmingly expensive. Two little sandwiches each and not the freshest, a mixture of savoury and sweet bites - all on one plate tier for two people was disappointingly minimal. It looked like it came straight out of the fridge without any effort whatsoever (served within 1 minute proved that!).
Some unique dish to the Intercontinental would have been welcome. I eat there regularly with my husband for business lunches. We usually have the salads - which are generally good.
When I asked to take the mostly uneaten sweet bites away with us, I was refused by the waiter who said that the hotel didn't have a "licence" for that..... Ahem really! I was embarrassed as I had recommended we try it to a friend who was treating me. She didn't get good value for money and we won't be booking it again.
Having lived in the UK for about 20 years, I can recommend you have your staff check out how the Waldorf, Ritz, Savoy do Afternoon Tea. The Intercontinental, if it made the effort, could make itself the place to have Afternoon Tea in Sydney.
Found the food to be quiet average and not worth the drive out or the $65 and the precutto smelt, looked and tasted questionable....had to seat myself because there was no one at the front seating people or clear signage that told you what to do....won't be coming back or recommending it to family and friends
Great afternoon tea, but leaf tea rather than tea bags would have made it five star.
Great meal again.
Great service love the 5star hotel dining.
Def a local area dining plus if you live in the Double Bay/Bellevue Hill
Will keep coming back.
I looked at the menu online and booked for a friends 60th. When we got there we were told the menu was limited as they were making changes. We left and went somewhere else
Professionalism of staff, they made us feel welcomed, they were very knowledgeable about the food available on the menu and well spoken and very articulate.
The service was extremely disappointing - in short, it was incredibly slow.
Everything was great except service was a bit slow. A bit slow to get the tea and especially the food.
excellent high tea. great service and very helpful staff. beautiful decor too
Great hotel resturant I would recommend the sirloin as the steak frittes is not the best cut of meat. Dessert was average but service and ambience is good.
Nothing - the service was appalling, and the high tea did not even remotely provide value for money. Would not recommend to anyone - was extremely disappointed and felt completely ripped off for the money paid.
This was a horrific experience. We were seated promptly and then ignored for 10 minutes until we approached a waiter. The manager came to apologize. The wait staff then messed up orders for the appetizer and main course, adding about an hour to our dinner as each course was re-prepared, in one case twice. The food was at best adequate. The wait staff was slow to refill water and wine. Eventually the manager came to apologize a second time and comped some of the food. To be avoided.
