We came from Tulsa, OK, for the Flower Show and also love art. We spent all day at the museum and didn’t want to leave for lunch. Stir was relaxing and we both enjoyed the smoked turkey salad and liked all ingredients. The coffee was delicious and liked the orange nut cookie with our coffee. So appreciated the entire dining experience that was quality with quality service and the relaxed atmosphere where we were not rushed but could stay until we felt we could continue our afternoon journey through the museum.
Table was waiting for us, comfortable and quiet. Linda took our orders, everything arrived on time, and it was all delicious. We especially enjoyed the roasted carrots with labneh, and our quiches. A perfect addition to our museum day!!
We ate there for lunch while visiting the museum. My wife had the roasted cod and I had the cobb salad. Everything exceeded expectations. The food and service was excellent.
Fantastic service! The Salmon was superb.
This is a step down from the former dining room at PMA. Zero ambience and no sound absorption or barriers so the noise level is quite high.
The food was tasty. The service was adequate. The music
Stir has a great brunch on the weekends and the dining area is beautifully designed. It takes a while to find it with the Art Museum construction underway so allow time for it.
Brunch choices were excellent. Food was delicious abd aervice was very good. A bit noisy but conversation was okay.
Good setting in art museum, food was delicious with generous portion size.
Like the attentive wait staff.
The ricotta pancakes were amazing
It was a pleasant interlude to our museum visit. Our 4-star ratings are on a 3-star is average scale, and Stir is above average in every category. Our server Linda was pleasant but we had to get her attention to get our bill. The Sunday lunch was at capacity and we were glad we made reservations on Open Table. The menu selection was adequate and fairly priced. Wine served from individual carafes poured at the table was elegant.
We are looking forward to our next visit.
Food was excellent. Service was not very attentive and coffee was almost undrinkable.
I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious, creative selections offered for brunch on Saturday that were fairly priced. The Benedicts were delightful and varied. Loved the avocado tartine. Server was charming, warm, friendly, knowledgeable and made a great dirty martini. He picked up on my lactose intolerance and made good recommendations and cautions. Desserts were spectacular, beautiful, delicious with crispy crusts.
Great! The food and service were exceptional.
We plan to return.
Limited menu, good “eatery” type of food, crowded tables and noisy. Not as elegant as the Steven Star restaurant it replaced.
Our server was so nice! I was there with girlfriends in Valentine day and Chef has treated us with some delicious appetizers.
We have loved our experience and will come back
Very nice Saturday brunch.
A beautiful space. Our service was outstanding, patient and responsive. I had the frittata which was a little bland.
Four of us had lunch here recently and all agreed it was good but not outstanding. The crab cakes had plenty of good crab and unlike some elsewhere not much "filler" but were a bit dry, and the maitake mushroom was also a bit dry. Overall pleasant but a bit disappointing , which is similar to my experience last year.
This small restaurant inside the art museum was unexpectedly amazing. We went for brunch. The food was delicious and the staff could not have been more attentive and friendly. The only drawback was the lack of natural light. I would definitely recommend this restaurant while visiting the art museum.
A very pleasant spot to have brunch before a Sunday afternoon at the Museum. The service was very good.
Fantastic space for a Museum lunch, good food and wine, not too noisy, tables not too close together, etc. A much better than one might expect lunch experience.
Poor service by waiter not trained in the basics. Never visited table after food served. Perhaps room needed another waiter.
Food is creative and tasty. Great / pleasant service. The room is all hard surfaces so sound can be a problem when the room is busy.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch on New Year’s Day in the beautiful Frank Gehry designed restaurant. Will definitely be back!
My husband of nearly 50 years and I enjoyed New Year’s brunch at Stir. We did notice, and refused one, that there are a number of two tops where one person faces a blank wall—what were you thinking?
The whole room feels more closed in than before, smaller, with fewer windows. Too bad. The food was quite good, as was the service (perhaps a touch intrusive even).
Good salad. Mediocre service. Pleasant staff who were responsive when we asked to have restaurant music lowered.
Our third time at Stir, this occasion was lunch. You are greeted and welcomed immediately upon entering.
Our waitstaff, Alice, was terrific. Made great drink and entree recommendations, including delicious salmon with nice accompanying salad.
The cloufitis desert with buckwheat, figs, lightly candies almonds all with a light lemon flavor was fabulous. We shared the first one then ordered a second.
The perfect thing to do in between seeing the treasures on exhibit at the Phila Art Museum.
You are trying too hard. The food is too trendy. Sometimes, simple is better. As for recommendations, right now I would say maybe.
Stir is hard to find but worth the walk - leave a little time to wander along the way.
The venue is very attractive - the only thing missing is table clothes.
It is a nice luncheon menu and the food is very good - friendly service.
If you need a little rest while at the Museum, this is the place to do it.
Quiet refuge when visiting the Philadelphia Art Museum. A great lunch with flexibility to change as our desires wanted. Quiche and crab cake was a tasty combination. Nice surprises at the end with the cookies as a treat with coffee.
A gem of a restaurant tucked inside the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Lunch was wonderful!
Very very nice. Service and food quality were excellent. They made our birthday brunch special!
Very excited to try Stir. The food did not disappoint but the staff did. I made our reservation 1 month prior to our visit When we arrived (on time for reservation) we were seated at front of house next to kitchen and entrance (very noisy) I noticed two booths were empty and set up. I asked to move to one of those (to a quieter setting) I was told the patrons had reservations - I said “we have reservations” but we were not as important as those who reserved booths We (not the hostess) noticed another freestanding table and requested (and granted) seating there.
PS - One of the “chosen reservations “ never showed up and the booth remained empty the entire time we were at lunch.
Perfect to stop for lunch while at the museum. Very nice ambiance and good food.
Henry was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delicious food, superb service, lovely time! Really enjoyed our lunch at the Museum!
Highly recommended! Food is excellent.
We were four people, our guests were there for the first time and were overjoyed at the beauty of the interior. The food far exceeded our expectation!
What a special dining experience. I took a friend for lunch to celebrate her birthday. The hostess was warm and welcoming and the waitress equally friendly, professional and knowledgable about the menu. My friend is vegetarian and there were many options for her to chose from. We both ordered the vegetable soup and a salad. Both were fresh and delicious, the salad had the perfect amount of dressing, very light letting the flavors and textures of the salad shine. We also ordered the truffled fries which were perfect. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.
