Sugar Factory American Brasserie - Atlanta
I have to admit I was pretty hesitant to visit this location because of all the negative reviews about the service, timing of receiving food, and rudeness of staff. I personally had amazing service (thanks, Raheem!) and all staff members were positive and made great conversation with us. Perhaps it's the old saying...treat others how you want to be treated....Be nice and you will get that in return from these folks. It definitely made our first time visiting a Sugar Factory a positive one.
The waiter was ok, the food was ok. The waiter seemed too busy to really take care of us and you have to ask about fountain drinks because he never told us what else besides the $30+ dollar drinks they had on the menu. For a place that's only been open for six months the cleanliness was horrible. When we got there the bathrooms were disgusting and three hours later when we left they were worse.
It was great had a good time celebrating my birthday, but food came out cold, manager gave a free drink for the action.
We only had the goblets but they were amazing !!! Everybody there was nice and my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves... we will definitely go every time we are in Atlanta!!!
We walked in and the floor was filthy, it smelled like weed and that smell never went away, like they were smoking in the kitchen or bathrooms. The ice cream and candy area was filthy candy all over the floor. Behind the ice cream counter was a complete mess with stuff all over and the guys were dancing and singing and flirting with the girls which is probably part of their job but they need to keep the place clean.
Amazing atmosphere, drinks were spot on & our sever was wonderful
Had the best time ever! Went for my 21st and I would most definitely be back.
Overall my experience was good. When we arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation, there was a line wrapped right up to the door just to check in with the hostess. When we finally were able to check in, the host was rude and seemed annoyed with the crowd. We were seated at the table directly next to the waiting area, so we had people inches from our seats standing and waiting to be seated, we weren’t off to a good start. From there our server was wonderful. She gave great recommendations and was fairly attentive. Bar service was slow and it took quite a while to receive our drinks, but the drinks were good and the food was great. The music became increasingly loud throughout our dining experience. The bathrooms were not up kept well at all and were quite gross, ESPECIALLY with the current COVD-19, and signs claiming that they were paying extra attention to the bathrooms.
Overall the experience gave much to be desired. The food and drinks were good but for the price tag the quality of our seating, ambiance, cleanliness, and the dress of other patrons did not match.
Horrible experience manager is the worst and the food is terrible
Server was great! However there were a lot of gnats flying around the restaurant and it was distracting..
Unique- lots of sweets - birthday celebrations and ice cream - nice crowd
The service was poor. The wait to order our food and drinks was at least 45 min. After putting in the order the wait to receive the food was another 30 to 45 min. One of our dishes came out cold and was sent back. Our drinks were received after our food, at least 20 min after. The Happy Birthday song name was wrong and they brought out the wrong desert with the birthday surprise, after being told more than once the name and desert. Overall poor service but the replacement waiter and manager tried to fix the problems but were not too successful.
Drinks were large enough that you only needed one and the food was delicious.
Great drinks, fun atmosphere but the staff ruined it for us. Had a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes while it was packed and there wasn’t much room to stand. Three families were seated before us and when it was finally our turn to be seated, there was unnecessary amounts of attitude from the hostess. The guy who seated us had his nose so high I wasn’t sure if he could see where he was going. Tossed the menus on the table and walked away. The waitress who served us was fabulous, she was about the only good part aside from the awesome drinks. The drinks are obviously the big hit because the food was nothing to write home about. Not bad but nothing great. We enjoyed our meal and awesome drinks and went to pay when the next issue occurred. Waitress comes with the check and I give her a $25 gift card that I literally just opened, wrapper still in my hand. She immediately question how much it was and when I said “$25, it’s brand new and never been used” and I showed her the packaging where I just opened it. She says “ok, I’ll see what’s on it.” Comes back and say it’s only $20 and gives me this look as if I can’t pay for my food or something, idk, it got weird and I told her it was $25 and to make sure it was $25 then put the rest on my card. Long story short, she wanted to argue, so we waited 15 minutes for a manager and after seeing no one even look our way, we left. It’s $5 and won’t make or break me but it’s principle and shows that they are being shady in their business practices. Would love to return but that has rubbed me VERY wrong. So overall, decent place to get a drink but not a great atmosphere if you don’t fit in immediately. Make sure you double and triple check your bill and take your receipt.
A nice, fun, energetic place to come too!! Will go back again!!
It was great!
Food was lackluster and under seasoned. Waitress was inattentive. They charged an 18% gratuity for a table of 3 people. When we inquired about the gratuity, the waitress said they automatically charge 18% when the tab is over $100. I’m not sure how true that was as on the receipt for the table said we had six people instead of 3. Overpriced, overcrowded basic restaurant. Could have had a better experience at Cheddars. Also, they charge you $5 to sing a weird rendition of happy birthday. Honestly, could have had a V8.
It’s was nice however I’ve visited the Las Vegas location so it kinda didn’t live up to my expectation.
I ordered the grilled chicken breast sandwich. The chicken breast way overcooked. It was very dry and made difficult to bite it. The waiter was busy so I couldn’t send it back and by the time she came back to our table, I felt there was no point to send back the food. The peach mango drink was good though. Wouldn’t recommend the food to my food, but would for the drinks.
I was all excited to experience Atlanta's new Sugar Factory restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I read up on the policy for large parties, which gratuity is 18% if you have over 6 people. So all was good, arrived on my birthday with my guests. We placed our orders with our waiter "Ness". After some time food begin to be delivered to the table. However, it was immediately noticed that I, the birthday girl did not have any food. My 7 other guests had all order burgers but I was the only one who ordered Salmon. I told them to not wait on me so their food wouldn't get cold. But guess what my food never showed. Our waiter passed my table and I asked where my food was and joked is it going to be free. As my guests were finishing my friend went to the hostess and asked for the manager and was told there was not one onsite. We later asked a waitress and she had no sense of urgency and just said okay. Why not, ask our waiter Ness? Because he never returned to the table. Finally, someone appeared and my friend went to talk to the manager and the first thing she said was "oh so y'all want your food free". My friend told her excuse me, I work in Human Resources with people everyday and we are just trying to understand why the birthday girl has not received her food and we all have finished eating. Needless to say I was extremely upset and I no longer wanted to the food we it finally did come. I informed the manager of that. She offered me free dessert I declined as well because it was already 40min late! Because our waiter Ness was guaranteed a tip he never even put in any work! They don't split checks so we had to tell them what to put on all 8 cards. So on my birthday I ate Chipotle. I won't ever be back to this restaurant!
It was my daughter’s birthday and I wanted to surprise her. We loved everything from the decor to the service to the food to the drinks. It is truly an experience. My husband wanted to cancel at first because of the reviews, but he was soooooo happy we went! Note: food and drink portions are large, it would be best to split everything since the prices aren’t cheap. There are so many restaurants in atlanta that I never want to eat at the same place twice. However, I have made a few exceptions and this would definitely be one!
I made a reservation for 7:30 PM... I wasn’t seated until closer to 8:15 PM... the lady working the bar was extremely rude. Instead of kindly asking my friend and me to move because we didn’t want to order from the bar she was very rude and aggressive about it. My friend and I only sat at the bar because the hostess at the front asked us to. However, the food was great!
Sugar Factory is a place full of fun, great food, and lasting memories. I throughly enjoyed my visit, and I would recommend that everyone gets to experience the magic of the sugar Factory at least once.
It was a great experience. We even got a tour of the upstairs. Went for a birthday but in order to have happy birthday sung you must purchase a dessert.
I have been looking forward to eating here for months and it was a complete disappointment!
Eventhough we had a reservation we still had to wait a long time to be seated. When the waitress finally arrived and we ordered drinks, she told us that she was unable to serve anything as they were out of dry ice the day before. That is what they are famous for!
Not only were they unable to serve us drinks, but they were also OUT of to-go containers! The food was WAY too expensive to not even be able to take it home!
I was so dissatisfied I spoke to the manager-who told me she "had no way of knowing what their inventory was" and basically told me better luck next time.
This is one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. If this is their standard of service, don't waste your time or money!
I don't think this restaurant lived up to its reputation and was definitely not worth the price I paid. The state of the bathrooms was unacceptable. The place just did not seem to live up to its hype.
The actual food was a little overpriced for the quality . However, the desserts were awesome and entertaining, very much worth the extra expense. I ordered the deep fried Oreos and my daughter the Cookie Monster shake both were delicious.
So satisfied with "T" he was an amazing waiter...food, drinks, & music was AWESOME....LOVED IT!
Regular food was mediocre. Desserts were excellent, but service was so poor that we received the wrong desserts twice. Ambiance would be off the chain except that the music was so loud that conversation was impossible.
The service was horrible , the staff was not attentive to customers. I would not recommend going here.
IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! I dined here on March 7th. I was celebrating my BIRTHDAY!🥳 I didn't try the food, I only had drinks.
Very expensive. Super loud, unable to hold a conversation at the table. Service was VERY slow. My group ended up being there for 3.5 hours.
BE SURE TO MAKE A RESERVATION! Without one you are pretty much out of luck on eating when you walk in. My reservation was for 7pm when walk-ins came they were told they weren’t taking anymore walkins until after 11:30pm. Once you get in and sit down it’s exactly what you would expect. AMAZING servers, outstanding customer service, and fast and excellent food.
Not worth the money...food was comparable to an Applebee’s or even take out! Small portions for the price...service wasn’t good. We sat for about 30 minutes before anyone ever came to the table...we flagged a waitress down and she said they were in the middle of shift change and someone would be out soon. When the young lady finally came around she did well with serving our table but at times was hard to find. I never have to go back again...if I’m going to pay high prices to eat it should at least have some quality in taste.
Food too expensive for such small portions and food is regular tasting not anything special .. overrated
It took an hour and a half to get our food and it came out cold. We still had not even gotten our drink orders at that time either. Mind you it was 1130am when we got there and the second level was completely empty! The waitress attempted to be nice but I think she was either new or not very knowledgable! Everything took 15 minutes to get and waters were never filled back up after the first time. This was a birthday celebration so I did put a damper on things. The manager did comp us the king ice cream and 10% off though.....2 people never got their dessert order however!
When we first arrived we were seated at a table where a drink was spilled and I sat in a wet seat. A young man dried my seat. Then our waiter’s assistant brought out my friend’s food, dropped the bun on the tray, picked it up w/ his bare hand and expected her to still eat it. DISGUSTING AND HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL! I won’t return.
It was nice. We went Friday, March 6th. The hostess was not accommodating when I told her I had a few more people with me. She had a nasty attitude and walked away without trying to find a solution. Thankfully the waiter Jamal made up for the situation and gave wonder customer service. The food was okay. Make sure you pick the right drinks with flavor.
Sugar Factory was amazing!!! Food & vibes were great!! My party of 8 loved it.
we had a reservation which is always better to have because the wait for walk ins are usually 2 hours. it‘s definitely a beautiful restaurant. service was ok we had to keep getting her attention to take our order and bring us things. the food was really good and it had a lot of flavor, it’s just extremely overpriced. valet parking will cost you appr. $20. it is also very loud inside because of the music they play so if you’re looking for something quiet this isn’t the place for you. me and my friend were practically yelling to each other at one point. the bathrooms are kinda gross though i wouldn’t expect such a nice restaurant to have bathrooms like that. overall it was a good experience i’d definitely go back again.
