I was told a dish was dairy free and got sick because I am allergic to dairy. Waitresses were very rude and lied.

The manager was very nice and helpful.

Music could not have been worse. The Halloween DJ made me want to find a tall building to jump off of.

Sorry to see this place close. Been coming for years and hope there is a reopening in the future! Outstanding beer, and equally outstanding food! Creative, vibrant and a chill atmosphere brings me back every time!

Sorry to say, we ate at Surly the last afternoon that they are open in 2020 and may not reopen for a while given the Covid 19 situation. They did a first class job when they reopened the dining hall with lots of distance between tables, one party per table, and much attention to cleanliness and distancing. The food was still good although the menu limited a bit from the full menu and the service was really fast compared to the usual good service with big crowds. They could probably only seat about 10-20% of the dining hall capacity indoors so no wonder the economics did not work out. Great try at staying open and keep us happy while they could.

Love Surly, loved my wedding I had there a year ago. Will miss them very much!!

Great food!

Very sad that Surly's closing; we hope it is only temporary and that they will re-open as soon as they can!

Prices were ridiculous and tipping was not allowed.

Surly tasting room food and beverages are always good, especially the dry-rub wings and hog fries. One ding on the service...they require a pay-as-you-go approach. Our team happy hour resulted in ~5-6 receipts rather than one combined tab, which was annoying. Arguably a “1st world problem” for enjoying good beer, good food, and good company.

It was odd to see everything so empty- and it was nice to be able to visit during Covid. great atmosphere. Food was awesome! Wings, pizza, plus surly darkness on tap!

I can't wrap my head around the Surly brewhall being closed, but I look forward to when it opens again, hopefully in the Spring! Love this place!

It’s hard during Covid .
Drinking a good beer from plastic just isn’t quite as nice as a sturdy glass one , but we had a nice time out with family for our Anniversary !

Please don’t close!!! We love everything; the food the atmosphere, the positive was they are dealing with the pandemic. We’ve been there for dinner 3 times in 5 weeks.

The whole ordering process was really weird, there was no interaction between us and the server. We had a gift card which required us to get helped by an employee and then we were never talked to again. We wanted to get more ketchup and an extra beer but weren't able to cause of our gift card!

Sorry to see that Surly is shutting down...Hopefully will be able to reopen in the near future

They are closing their doors on 11/2/2020. So get in there while you can.

Service was awful.
Food came out fast and good beer. But man the staff were rude.

I had the chicken sandwich . It was ok not much flavor.. the rest of the food was great. We appreciated your due diligence regarding Covid. We felt very safe. It’s the first time I have eaten in a restaurant since March. So thank you for being so careful.

Hands down, my favorite place to eat. Pay the extra money for an entree. I’ve never been disappointed.

Food was very good. Beer was excellent. Will go there again. Fast and attentive service.

Not sure if its retaliation to the efforts to unionize but I wish we could tip.

We enjoyed the experience (our first) very much. We were rushing to make use of
a gift card from our son and the manager,Anna, who took our order could not have been
more helpful. The food was very tasty and served efficiently and with charm.
We are sad that they are closing and will look forward to a re-opening so we can
return. The only complaint would be the volume of the music.

Due to Covid we had limited interaction with the staff. All ordering and paying is done online. Be prepared to wear your mask at all times unless your eating or drinking. When food or drinks are dropped off you must be wearing your mask. I would say look at the menu and order everything you want all at once b/c we did two different orders and it was a bit annoying when more food would come and we’d have to stop eating and put our masks back on (harder to do while eating wings/burgers/sandwiches/pizza). I did feel extremely safe there with all the precautions.

Surly does an outstanding job of safely distancing patrons while serving up delicious food and suds. The pandemic is challenging across the hospitality industry, but Surly rose to the occasion to continue as long as they could at reduced capacity for customer and employee safety. Looking forward to returning to Surly in the spring, when we can gather outside again.

I do understand that there are necessary changes due to Covid laws, but Surley was a sad ghost of what it used to be. We had to order with a manager because we had a gift card. We had to wait for her to come back and had no way of communicating with anyone when we wanted another beer or were ready to order food. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else that was not so depressing.

The margarita style pizza barely had any cheese on it so that was kinda lame, but the brussel sprouts and beer were bomb 😁

Beer good, food very decent. Service was just so-so. It wasn't the same ambiance as in previous times I had be there, since it's limited capacity with Covid. I will say I am 100% in wearing my mask when required but the staff would make us put on our masks before they would even place a beer on the table. Like, we have food IN our mouths and we have to quick put our masks on...seemed a little overkill. I've never had a server do that dining out during "Covid times" I will say he could've delivered it in a different way and I probably wouldn't have cared one bit. I will say it was sad leaving there knowing that was the last time since they are permanently closing in November. What a shame. Such a great looking building, good beer/food. I was glad to make one last trip there.

Spicy food! You have to wear masks when waiters and waitresses approach you.
