I’ve been here several times and this is the first time I had a negative experience. They did not offer the free shot of sake that comes with the reservation, I had to ask for it, plus they told me they couldn’t make a handroll because of time which is complete bs. It’s literally part of the service description! I’ve been able to have handrolls made at other locations even with reservations after mine ended. I find it inexcusable that they can serve you more drinks off to the side, but not more food. Especially when it is part of the description of the meal. After all, I paid $100 for the “Bougie” experience and this was far from it. I would honestly just stick to the $60 “Standard” experience. I would take my money to try elsewhere next time.

Amazing! This place is utterly unique, an experience you’ve likely never had before. It seems to be a couple of guest rooms at the hotel Lincoln that have been converted into a very intimate dining experience. I believe there were only ten of us dining at a time. The sushi is excellent. And the experience is fun. The environment is relaxing and allowed me to leave the woes of the world behind for an hour. Highly recommended.

Good was amazing and service was better. I do SGO with others that the Lincoln park location is odd. Almost no signage and it’s on an old hotel ballroom. They did their best to make it chic but this would be much better in a proper restaurant space and it definitely needs more of an entrance. Also you don’t get to watch the chef slice the fish but they do prep each piece in front of you so you still get the experience. For the price compared to other Omakase in the city this is a great value. Would like to see them add wine or sake pairings with the bougie experience (which is what we had). Two rounds of drinks, the bougie experience and four add on rolls and we were out the door for $350. Would go again!

Solid. It’s a quicker omakase than one would like but that comes with the cheaper price. Good sushi but not very inventive.

Music skipped more than once. Thats annoying Walking in for 100 per head and walking out for 610 total seemed like a big surprise for 2 of us. The extra pieces should have a menu Sushi quality was amazing tho and love a fast meal with no waiting!!

Maybe I just wasn’t prepared for what I was walking into, but this “experience” felt so rushed and unwelcoming. The reservation was for a 7pm one hour time slot with a large group of multiple reservations (I did not know this ahead of time- probably my own fault). The time slot before us was taking a little long to clear out so the host went over to rush them along. We were finally seated at 7:07. The sushi was amazing and came out so fast. I liked that they made it right in front of you. Towards the end, they let us know we could order additional if we wanted. We did, and the workers looked super annoyed about it. They were trying to get back on schedule with the time slots. We made the mistake of ordering a second cocktail (we had a coupon), and ended up having to chug it while they cleaned up all around us with pointed glances. We ended up being ushered out and asked to pay literally while still chewing at 7:58. 51 minutes for a 12 course omakase? Not what I would consider pleasant or “elegant” as they advertise. Overall the food was amazing but not worth it as the experience felt like a low value money grab.

Food was incredible, as was the team and the service. The music was the perfect noise level - loud enough that I didn’t need to hear other’s conversations but not so loud that I couldn’t hear my cousin speak. Will visit again.

A wonderful experience. If you have hungry people or expecting a lot of food, you may want this to be a pre dinner or post dinner experience. The chefs were fantastic and the host was terrific. The food was decadent.

Amazing experience! Second time back and had to bring my husband because i loved it so much the first time. Fish was fresh, cocktails were delicious, and the whole setting was a vibe. Affordable Omakase as they offer two different experiences. We did the Boujee experience and 100% worth it when it comes to quality!! We will be back!

Chef Pong is fantastic! We had such a wonderful experience. The fish was some of the best omakese I’ve had in the city. Chef Pong was a joy to watch work, he spent time talking about where the fish is imported from, and we enjoyed some sake with him at the end. Skye was à phenomenal hostess and gave us her personal card when we left. Definitely recommend for a special occasion or just a fun weekend activity. Afterwards I recommend heading down to the lobby and enjoying some cocktails at Elaine After Dark with the bartender Krissy.

This is such a fun experience for a date night, birthday, or any special occasion. It’s intimate, fun, and the sushi is delicious. Highly recommend getting the bougie offering and chef recommended sake flight.

The experience was a lot of fun. I took my fiancé for his birthday. The sushi chef was friendly and made the experience very interactive. The food was really yummy (still thinking about the miso cod). Definitely a fun spin for date night.

The dining area is very small, akin to a bar, but only seats around 12 people at a time. Nice seating area while waiting to be seated. The bar stools were comfortable, the cocktail I ordered said it has fresh ginger in it (ginger highball) but it was really just ginger lacquer. The bartender was so kind and tried fixing it but it was never very good, I choked down a couple big sips after all her effort. My boyfriend cocktail was also just fine (citrus highball) next time I would stick with wine or sake. We did the regular omikase 12 course, the chef was very friendly, and 12 courses was plenty! 6/12 of the pieces were good, 3/12 were excellent, and 3/12 were okay/very fishy. I wouldn’t go back but it was a good experience for the price.

We got the 12 course omakase. The description states we would have 60 mins meal. We got seated 15 mins late at 8:15pm for our 8pm reservation. The host apologized for the delay, of course I thought we would still have 60min! The food itself was excellent. Our 12 courses were done by 850pm or so, the chef asked if we would like any extra pieces, which my girlfriend and I did order. After ordering a few extra pieces, at 9pm I tried ordering another piece and the chef rudely frowned at me and said my time was up and they had other dinners coming in. I was seated late, so my 60 min was really not up yet. I didn’t say anything as I didn’t want to cause a scene. He did give me the piece I ordered, but acted as if he was doing me a favor. The bottle of sake I ordered was listed at $68 on the menu, when I left the restaurant I noticed they charged me $77 for the bottle. Overall, I would go back as the food was good, and next time I’d probably go for the 16 or 17 course omakase that allows extra time/courses. The host was also very delightful and pleasant, her name was Zara Khan.

We had a great date night at this spot while staying at the hotel for a quick weekend trip to Chicago. The chef and service was top notch. The food was so amazing and some of the best sushi we have ever had. Highly recommend.

I do really love sushi by bou for the value and vibes. Yes, they play fun music and it isn't the usual dead-quiet omakase experience, but that's the vibe. And yes, they have super short seatings and get you in and out pretty quickly, but it is considerably cheaper than many of the other omakase places. So you need to go in to expect and enjoy a different, fun, vibe. I have eaten here before and at other sushi by bou locations and have always loved it and had a great time. The staff are always great and they have great cocktails. Our recent dinner there was also great, but we noticed the nigiri pieces were just a touch too small. Even with the 18 course meal we had a 2nd dinner later that night. I really hope they can continue to offer great value and decent nigiri sizes to match everything else that is great about this place!

The Omakase was exceptional but at one point, the waitress brought out sake shots for everyone sitting at the bar, claiming they were “birthday” shots for one of the guests (everyone got them, including the chef). We were surprised to find that we had been charged $42 for the shots, which we had no opportunity to turn down, and which had been marketed as complimentary. However, the dinner and drinks were outstanding, and the experience was great and so fun as a whole.

Let's start with we were greeted by being told to wait outside while other guest were being served cocktails inside. Then we were told the night was over booked and they wanted one of us to sit on the chefs freezer at the end of the bar on an added chair.... chefs has ZERO interactions being a "Omakase Experience" there was no experience... super rushed once your last piece was given you needed to get up from the seat. I guess you get what you pay for....

Food was good. Wouldn’t mind coming back. It would be a good experience if you haven’t gone to a place like this before. Or, never have tried sushi. Place looks nice and chill. Good place to hang out and catch up with a friend or even impress your date. I really like the workers. The host was nice and even have a conversation with the guests. Waitress and waiter are always checking up on you if you need anything and always refilling up your drink. And the chief! The most important person. The chief has good knowledge of each sushi and even knows where is the best spots in the world to get the seafood and when to get them. Overall! It was a good. I would take my friends here.

Felt like a pop-up restaurant even though it is not. Fish was only adequate quality. Service felt rushed. We arrived early, but still had to wait for our "round" of sushi and then were rushed through the process.
