Sushi by Bou West Loop is a timed Omakase experience located in the Emily Hotel (311 N Morgan Street Chicago, Illinois, 60607). Reserve our Signature $60/per person 60-minute Omakase! For a more elevated experience, please upgrade to our Bougie $125++ 17-piece + hand roll + sake Omakase. Sushi by Bou West Loop may be reached via text at 312-818-1156 for any additional questions or inquiries.

Sushi by Bou West Loop's 24-hour Cancellation Policy: A 50% per person fee will apply to cancellations and no-shows for reservations made within 24 hours of reservation time. No same-day rescheduling. We were served by Chef Ice. He was very personable and we had a great time talking to him. He was great at his craft…very efficient and explained to us each piece. This was our family monthly outing and it was a hit!

This was our first Omakase experience and I am so glad it was at Sushi by Bou. The entire experience was wonderful. The pieces were very well paced, incredibly delicious and just melt in your mouth. A better experience than I could have hoped for. The cocktails were also some of the best we’d enjoyed all weekend. I will definitely be going back here.

For the most part very good. But disappointed with several pieces of fish, and definitely disappointed by the portion sizes. Uni from santa barbara was awful- literally would have spit it out but didnt want to spit out the beef that was along. Had a piece of fluke with 3 thick pieces of “dental floss-like” string that I had to pull out of my mouth. That is to be expected at an all you can eat place for $30, not when you spend $180 for one person, including tax and tip and a few extra pieces. The overall size of the pieces of fish were tiny. I’ve been a huge fan of BOU in New York for several years, and never once did I feel anything other than that it was perfect. This was almost to the point of being offensive. I understand that food costs are high, but it’s an awful feeling to go somewhere and feel like you are being ripped off. That is the feeling that I got here. To have 17 courses of sushi, and then order an extra hand roll and four additional pieces, and then needing to go stop and get something else to eat is ridiculous. Service is wonderful. Staff is fantastic.

I had the WORST experience getting to an omakase here, and ended up being 35 minutes late (my connecting green line train literally stopped running for a movie shoot the second I got off my red line train, the Ubers kept cancelling on me, and I ended up having to divvy bike in my fancy attire with 20 mph wind gusts during a completely random dia de los muertes PARADE). I called the number they said to call, but it’s text only, so I had to stop biking in order to talk to these people, which made me even later, and the number isn’t for the restaurant in Chicago, it’s kind of an umbrella line for all their restaurants. So I’m texting this poor girl in probably like, Dallas, about a restaurant in Chicago, trying to explain that I’m sobbing into the wind on a divvy bike about how National Lampoon my should-have been-45-minute-commute has become, and can I please just cancel my reservation without the fee, because I’ve already paid for the divvy and I’m simply not going to make it before the 25 minute grace period they gave me because now the bike path I’m using is closed and I have to backtrack half a mile. They wouldn’t let me cancel the reservation, but they said because of the circumstances if I show up at all, they will speed-run the omakase for me and I won’t owe a fine and they won’t ding me on Open Table. I got there, and honestly, it was smooth sailing. Everything was delicious, if insanely fast, and the drink was great. The Host/Maitre d’ was a little gruff to begin with, but softened up when she saw I’d been crying. I don’t think the girl in Dallas gave her the rich story detail that I provided, so it’s understandable she’d feel a bit put out doing this for me when the omakase is only an hour long. Overall, it’s not anyone’s fault, and once I got inside everything was absolutely lovely for the time they were given. I will definitely go back again, only next time I’m taking the Halsted bus and give myself 2 hours of travel time instead of 1 1/2 hours.

Our chef was nice and the food he prepared was good. But the whole “experience” felt very rushed. We were seated 20+ minutes after our reservation time. We paid for a 60-minute experience, but it was more like 30 minutes, and it was difficult to hear the chef over the music. Lastly, they had a promotion posted on their Instagram for a complimentary 13th course for the month of October if you used a certain promo code at booking. But there is no field to enter the code. At the restaurant I was told you’re supposed to enter it in the “general notes” on your reservation, which is not made clear on the booking page or in the instagram post. When I asked about it at the restaurant when finally seated us, they said they would not honor the deal. Overall, the chef and food were great but I would not recommend the restaurant for omakase.

It was fun and food was good. But the bites were so tiny. We went to the good coast one a couple of months ago and that seemed like regular pieces and a good deal. This time felt like we were missing out on 30% of the fish.

Amazing experience! Who knew that speak east Omakases existed?! Walk into the beautiful Emily Hotel and into a hidden entrance to a gorgeous, urban restaurant. It’s a cool vibe with hip hop music, fresh sushi, and the most amazing hostess with the moistest Sky! She will keep your drinks flowing and show you a good time. The Omakase is only $60 for 10 pieces and they get you in and out in 60 mins. The fish is fresh and they season it with all sorts of flavors from yuzu to miso to truffle salt. Every single piece was heaven! I would definitely go back!

Probably true that I’m not the target demographic. Maybe true that I’ve aged out of cool places like this. It was fun and also intense, and the sushi was just incredible. Easily one of my top 2 lifetime sushi experiences.

Amazing experience!! We went at 6pm on a Thursday, and basically had a private dining experience for a bit! Just one other couple in the space. The chefs and hosts/ bartenders were incredibly welcoming and fun! For $60, this was a great time with even better food. I have never felt more appreciated as a guest than here!

Ok, so the small box that you enter does have a smell of fish. This was not pleasant. They don’t have a good drink menu and no real bar. Pleasant staff. Ordered the boogie Omakase… food was better than average. Portions are quite small. Hand rolls and pieces are small bite sizes. Ended up ordering $472 worth of sushi for 2. Admittedly, my guest could eat and we weren’t really that full at all. It’s quite expensive for what you get. I’m sure I paid their rent for the month. Ambiance is very lacking despite the good music selection. Probably won’t be back with the sushi options in Chicago.

I've eaten at Sushi by Bou many times in NYC and Chi, and this is the first time I have been disappointed. The portion sizes suddenly became ridiculously small, and it seemed intentional. If this ends up being the norm, they are going to fall out of favor very quickly.

Good intro to omakase for folks who don’t want to spend a fortune. Seating is a little bit difficult in a group of more than two people because there are only a few seats at the bar and difficult to talk to each other. Flavors for good for the most part the explanation of each piece was a bit lacking, perhaps because the bar seats were full. Had some trouble at the end though when trying to pay, and request for good tips, as well as telling us “we didn’t charge you the premium”, almost soured the experience. Not sure what premium they were talking about….I’ll have to check my credit card later since I was also told the card was run multiple times. Shouldn’t have to worry about things like this when spending hundreds of dollars on a meal.

Was able to make a same-day reservation for Wednesday night for 5 people. We opted for a 12-piece omakase for 60 dollars. The sushi was relatively small compared to other omakase I have tried but the quality and price made up for it. Liked the decor and vibe there.

It wasn’t very clear on where to go. We arrived 5 minutes early and were told to go wait in the lobby with out any explanation of confirmation they found our reservation in the system. We had no idea what was happening. Food was good but not great and didn’t make up for the wait, hostess, signage, or price

We love it here! Everyone is so welcoming! This is the first time we did the lunch option. We live in the suburbs and decided to take the train into the city for the day so we could try the lunch at Sushi by Bou. It was great! We walked in and sat at the bar and Skye the bartender was so friendly and made us such amazing cocktails! Jose the manager made sure we had everything we needed. We sat at the sushi bar and Chef Alex made the most amazing sushi for us to eat and he made sure all of my items were gluten free as I have an allergy. We love Sushi by Bou at The Emily Hotel. One day we will try the other Sushi by Bous in Chicago, but this one we always go to because we know we will have a wonderful and yummy experience! I have recommended Sushi by Bou to lots of people and they all say it was such a great experience too! Thanks for another great experience!

Sushi by Bou was okay, but a few things with my experience didn't sit well. I originally booked the standard experience but was advised by friends that I should try the bougie experience. I texted the Sushi by Bou phone number and they responded and said my upgrade request was granted and I was all set. When my friend and I arrived for dinner, the bites were tasty and the vibes were nice with solid hip-hop. The explanation of the pieces were a bit lackluster. There must have been a mix up in internal comms because they only prepared for us to have the standard menu. When we told them we had the bougie menu and showed the proof, they obliged and provided the additional pieces. However, we could tell they rushed us on those pieces and other people were coming in waiting for our spots. It really put a damper on our evening. Nothing was offered as a concession either. I just expected a lot more because when you pay for an omakase experience, shouldn't feel rushed.
