Food is very fresh I will come back but please replace the manager tall middle age white guy. Very poor hospitality skills. I dine out much to say it. He can help the kitchen instead.

Sushi is okay, pretty basic rolls but I guess people like the ambience which is very chill and the music is good. Basically I wouldn’t fly in to Chicago to eat sushi here again. Service was very nice though.

Sushi San was a great introduction to sushi for my nephew. The service was really good. The music playing was amazing. Our waitress was very helpful. They could add more cooked sushi options as they only had shrimp tempura and an avocado choice.

Best place ever. Order all the sushi and all the grilled stuff and drink all the sake. I love the yuzu sake bomb, mr magoro and the sizzling bip n bop. Go. Eat and drink asap

Fantastic as always. Service is great, love the food and I always - and I mean ALWAYS - have a great evening here. It was noisy for a Wednesday night but I didn't mind. It makes for a fun vibe with the crowd and the music. Highly recommended!!!

I recently visited your restaurant for dinner and I am very disappointed in my experience. Firstly, the staff did not wear gloves when cleaning the toilet, instead they used their bare hands and picked up toilet paper from the floor. I don’t believe that they washed their hands before coming back to the kitchen. Furthermore, the waiter did not tell us the price of the appetizers before ordering, so we were very shocked when we saw that the 4 small pieces of fish cost $30. The bluefin tuna and avocado dish was also of poor quality, as the avocado was very raw and hard, and it had a poor taste. Lastly, the music at the restaurant was too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory and I was very disappointed.

Had a nice lunch here the other day and everything was great! I had the Express lunch which more than filled me up and my dining partner had the Spicy Tuna Maki, Shrimp Ceviche Maki and Lobster Goddess (Hold the Rice Maki). My Express lunch included options for a San Specialty and Rice Bowl. I chose the Tuna Aburi and Tuna bowl. Everything was super delicious. In and out in under an hour which is super key for weekday lunches. All the staff were super nice and provided great service. Also don’t sleep on the chocolate habanero mochi if they have it!

It was super disappointing. I got the D-Luxe nigiri and the fish quality was good but there was no flavor. I was expecting a different experience. Also, no one explained the different types of fish presented to me. I’m used to going to Uchi in Austin/Dallas/Miami, and each piece of nigiri is a favor explosion in your mouth and they explain what you are eating and the garnishes. This might be more of a hot plates and rolls place. Overall it just wasn’t what I was expecting.

Wow so good! We got the chefs choice sashimi, nigiri and 2 rolls. Top quality, delicious. Service was also great and efficient but not rushed. The sesame mochi are a MUST! Thank you

This place is awesome! Great for a date and sitting at the bar and getting the tasting menu. I’d highly recommend or last night we did a pre fixed menu for my girlfriends birthday and had 14 people. Daniel and staff are awesome. So fun, totally enough food and all you can drink. Well worth it!! Great place and I’ll be back.

Amazing food - best sushi in Chicago - we were at Yume that same week and Sushi San is definitely superior. The only downside is that it’s very crowded and a bit noisy... but when sushi is that good you should forget about the ambiance... ;)

The Omakase dinner is incredible. Each of the nine courses is delicious. I wish it wasn't so rushed so we could relax and enjoy more but it is advertised as a 45 minutes experience.
