Last dinner before lock down
Festive burger was one of the smallest burgers seen to date - probably trying to stretch availability to suit all. 2 large slabs of sourdough bread did not make up.
Not quite the usual standard but the service/ambience went some way to recompense

Lovely venue, great service, and solid food. Appreciate a vegan option -- a few more would be good. Pricing is very high, felt that the cost for lunch was very high.

My only complaint was that the outdoor heaters were not functioning. We were 3 separate households and were therefore forced to be outside. Otherwise everything was excellent. Thank you and I wish you and all your staff a Happy Christmas and an easier year in 2021. We will be back as soon as we are allowed.

The staff were welcoming and the ambience was excellent, considering that there are so many rules at the moment.

a bright though very chilly day and all at the swan did all to make our christmas lunch very enjoyable. only comment , get the heaters working properly and perhaps have a few fleece blankets to hand ( other restaurants do this and very popular)and thta would be the finishing touch. Food was very good and and we had a lovely time.

We were first through the door as the swan reopened yesterday lunchtime. They remembered us and welcomed us as returning friends. they even remembered what we like to order. They had not been able to restock avocado yet for their mouth-watering avo on ciabatta with poached eggs and bacon but went out of their way to construct a tempting alternative off menu and it was delicious . Coffee was great. Service perfect. Views sublime as always. Unlike some they take Covid precautions very seriously not letting us in until we had registered and sanitised. Well done them.

Perfect for family lunch on a beautiful sunny day - unrushed and enjoyable all round.

Went for the Roast, had the Pork Belly was not disappointed. Took friends who where travelling through the area. Nice walk around the village afterwards. Top Sunday!

I appreciate these are hard times but feel that the drinks are overpriced and starters too! My Pepoer Squid was tasty but far too large a portion for a starter, a smaller portion at a slightly cheaper price for me would have been better (an option for it being a main meal could apply). Understandably you have to make money at this time of Covid but we, as customers, are also cash conscious at the same time!

Not comfortable with safety protocols - menus were paper yet not single use. Servers were handling cutlery

Overall a lovely place to enjoy time. The staff are very nice and attentive. Unfortunately I ordered the burger and I was very disappointed. It was far too large to get a good bite. This is a mistake a lot of pubs make with burgers, I really don't understand it. I make burgers myself all the time and never have this problem. In addition the skinny fries it was served with where terrible. Dear swan-
Burger and fries is such a simple classic,Take the opportunity and get it right. Apart from that- the sticky toffee pudding was outstanding,genuinely one of the best Ive had!

I have been visiting for years and will continue to do so. I would love to see a few minor improvements on the food quality.

Good food and service but it was pretty much empty which didn’t help the atmosphere

Very attentive staff, the food was generally good and good portion sizes. I had the sea bass which was excellent. On a sunny day it would be nice to sit outside or request a table with a river view. Prices slightly high in some things like fish and chips when compared with more complex menu choices .

We found the food pretty average and quite expensive for what it was. We had the roast beef and the potatoes were cold and a bit soggy, the pigs in blankets could have done with longer in the oven and the cauliflower cheese was so watery you couldn't actually taste any cheese. We were also asked several times by a number of people how our meal was which wasn't really necessary and with better communication we could have got away with only being asked once!

It was a busy Sunday lunchtime but even so the service was very slow. We waited 2 hours for our main courses because they had to remake the gravy but the main that arrived was cold, undercooked and the gravy was still terrible. Although the management gave us our meals for free it still left us feeling that we’d had a terrible meal. I know the Swan is usually much better but this was very disappointing.

We sadly had a very unfortunate experience at the Swan. Our food finally arrived after waiting an hour and a quarter - the manager was very apologetic and assured us that she would look into what went wrong. Unfortunately the food was also cold and poor quality, roast pork belly was just a cold lump of fat with barely any meat and crackling was soft. The children's beef roast for our 2 year old was the same size as an adult portion and had a slice of rare cooked fatty beef and what looked like a quarter wedge of raw cabbage - it was meant to be grilled cabbage but this was cold and not even cooked! They offered to recook our food but we declined and decided to leave. Very nice and friendly service but something went very wrong and the food was not good quality.

Came here two years ago and had a lovely meal, alas things appear to have slipped here. A quiet intimate dinner was the plan, but we were placed by two large groups, and could hardly hear ourselves over the noise and the fact it echoed off the hard wood floor and atrium.

I order the rib-eye (£28) thst was not medium-well and rather cremated, with hardly any meat on it. The menu didn’t say it came with fries, the waitress didn’t tell me, so I ended up with extra fries (£5) that I didn’t need.

There were so many nice qualities about this place on the first visit that no longer exist now. Overpriced, under delivered and overcooked.

Sincerely hope this was a blip and it is better for others.

The food was very disappointing. I had very over cooked, dry chicken and my husband had a pie that was extremely dry inside. Portions of both mains were very small. Hardly any veg/potatoes to accompany it.
They had none of the mac n cheese croquettes starter so we ordered the truffle mac n cheese side instead which was actually quite nice, so filled up on that instead.
The staff were nice but letdown by lots of cobwebs on the lights/ceiling which put me off the truffle mac n cheese.
Have been here before and it was much better.
Was it pretty costly for what it was.
Such a shame as location is lovely.

Full English - £12 so better be good! Very average with black pudding cremated, bacon dry - no jam or marmalade for the toast. Had to ask for butter twice. Very disappointing.
