This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, extremely delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again!
Good southern cuisine! Well prepared. Fried chicken wings and deviled eggs were excellent! Peach cobbler sweet tea is great!
Very delicious. The grits had me amazed. I’ll definitely be back.
Food and service were incredible. We loved everything we ordered and the wait staff was so helpful in answering our questions and making sure everything was to our liking. This is one of my favorite additions to the Montclair restaurant scene in a long time!
Delicious, flavorful food from start to finish. Our table had everything from corn bread and okra to shrimp & grits and chicken & waffles. Everything was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Will definitely go back.
If you like traditional southern food, you need to eat here!
My wife grew up in GA/FLA and has had seriously high standards for all southern food. I watched in fear as she tasted the cheesy grits and fried okra. What relief when she did the “omg, THIS is what I have been looking for!”
PS if you haven’t been to the south, you may heed the caution that this is serious food. You won’t be getting vegan, fat-free, healthy options here. Save that for another night. Come here to let loose the belt.
Sweet T’s is always on point! I have been here 3 times with my wife and we ordered catering for a July cookout. Now, I suggested Sweet T’s for lunch after my fraternity- Kappa Alpha Psi - completed a local service project. There were seven of us. Everything was excellent. I couldn’t eat dinner that evening, I was so full fro lunch! See you soon!
First time there with guest from out of state. Everyone loved their meal and the music play list was fantastic. Will definitely be back. Make a reservation though.
Food was excellent. Service was exceptional! Will definitely return.
From the moment my family and I walked into the establishment it felt as we were home. Everyone was kind and gracious. The ambience was perfect the decor very tasteful. The live band took me away. Our waitress was attentive and took time to explain the menu to us as it was our 1st time. We had the cornbread to start with strawberry butter...it was delicious. Between us we had the salmon cakes with grits, collard greens, Mac and cheese. Strawberry pancakes, potato salad and fried catfish. By the time we were done there wasn't anymore room for dessert. We were content with each dish brought ou to us. One of the owners Tonza was there and greeted us and each person with a smile. We will definitely be coming back soon.
Was great food was on point, they had a nice band playing great music… was just a nice vibe.
Amazing food ! Amazing service! Simply Amazing!
This was my second time visiting/dining with this establishment! The first time it was my sister and myself, we had lunch there on a Monday afternoon food was delicious which made us decide to come back for our birthday family dinner! We were all excited and spoke highly of this restaurant to our family so they all agreed to try it out! Our waitress was great, got our orders correct no problem there. Unfortunately the food wasn’t as great as the first time, My mom and sister ordered the smothered turkey wings, my sister had to send hers back because it was too salty, my nephews chicken wings were undercooked, everyone’s Mac and cheese was cold and tasted like it had been sitting for a couple of days, and the cornbread was crunchy on the bottom, yet we never complained, another thing we brought to the waitress was the salty turkey wings which my sister sent back and ordered something else! Here is where this establishment really lost 9 possible loyal customers. (There is a 2 hour max dinning time for guest with 5 or more), We were doing a wine toast about 10 mins later the waitress and her helper comes to start collecting the glasses from the table reaching in between everyone trying to clean off the table! THE PROFESSIONAL thing to do was inform the guest that our 2 hours had expired and unfortunately we would need to wrap up our evening! The manager stood right next to our table and instructed her waitress to start clearing the table off! So the manger w could have been the person to inform us about our over extended time spent there! I hope they read these reviews and take them into consideration for others that may visit the establishment! I would recommend that people try an establishment twice before deciding if you’d spend your money there on a regular basis! I do wish them the best of luck in such a competitive industry!
There were several reasons I would not recommend this restaurant.
The food was not what I expected based on the prices. The cake they served me was so sweet that I had to waste half of it. Nice presentation but horrible amount of sugar. The grits they served had two options cheese or no cheese. I chose cheese but again it was inedible because it was just too much of the ingredient in this dish. They need to work on balancing their ingredients.
Also they charge customers a 4% fee if they use a credit card. When a business have agreed to accept credit cards they are not supposed to punish customers who opt to use them. Call your credit card company and ask them if I am right. I hate when a business does this because it is shady to say the least and not customer friendly. This forced me to get cash before going. I never carry cash (especially when traveling).
The last reason I was put off was because they did not accommodate a simple request of adding a scoop of ice cream to my dessert order (even though I was willing to pay an upcharge for it). In the end, this restaurant was not customer friendly in my opinion. I wish I would have got the clue from their off-putting notes to customers. They tell customers a lot of what they AREN'T going to do and very little of what they will do for the customer. I wasted most of my food, paid my bill, tipped the sweet waitress (after making sure she would get the entire tip) and left.
Delicious food, beautiful artwork, nice music. I would definitely go back again.
Unique and delicious
I went on a Sunday evening, had a reservation. The waitress was very pleasant. My food was soooo good. I also liked the environment there, coming back soon.
Comfort food for the soul with a little live music to balance. We had such an amazing time. Can’t wait to go back❤️
A great experience and service! Please check this place out. Our server Stan was awesome. Everything was delicious.
It was a wonderful place. Food amazing and great vibe.
Great food, service and ambiance.
I dined with a friend who had recommended Sweet T''s. Atmosphere was terrific. Great decor. LOVED the music. Jodi was our server. She was charming, friendly, and very helpful. Great service!! The only down side was when we entered. We had a reservation. They were only two tables occupied. The hostess put us at a table by the kitchen. When I asked to move she seemed annoyed. FOOD - We ordered a ton of items - mac and cheese, greens, candied yams, fried chicken, salmon cakes, shortbread, grits, deviled eggs and berry pie with ice cream. The deviled eggs were fantastic and were the greens. Everything else was absolutely delicious! Oh, and the peach tea was fabulous. Great place, cool design, excellent music, and wonderful food. You should check this place out.
Food is great setting is great… I highly recommend!
It was a pleasurable dining experience. One of my favorite restaurants!
Our server was very rude when we were leaving. She decided to talk nasty about the tip that we left her as we were walking out amongst other staff. She offended my mother.
This was my first visit, and it was for my birthday. I was a wonderful experience.
The food was amazing and filling. Those that work there were very nice.
The music was awesome. Please do not change the music. The day I went they were playing some of Mary J. Blige music. I couldn't help but to rock in my seat.
It's nice to visit an establishment that makes you feel at home with the food and music.
I really hope that they do not change anything! I am looking forward to telling all of my friends about a place that they can come and feel like they are at a gathering with friends and family.
We had the cornbread and the baby kale salad for appetizers. The cornbread was warm and very moist. The salad was plentiful and the dressing made it very unique. For entrees we had the short ribs and the shrimp and grits. Portions were large and the flavors were on point. The collard greens were a standout.
We tried something new but the server wasn’t sure of the content which would have influenced our choice when we ordered. As a result we were not happy with our order and it was sooo over priced compared with the amount we received. Previous visits we were very happy with our order and pricing. We will return but stick with what we know.
Tatiana was nice and the food was superb!
Everything was outstanding from the food to the service that was provided ! Will recommend to family and friends and will be back soon !
Excellent choice for dinner, I chose to have the fried catfish (light and tasty), collard greens and potato salad flavorful and perfect portion. The cobbler for dessert was
delicious, not too sweet and the ice cream on top was the perfect compliment.
The food and service was excellent
Not a bbq joint but smooth southern food and ambiance with the warmth of a family home.
Warm tap water no ice, has to request ice and when received one small glass was given for the table… condescending, inattentive and rude wait staff, owner was unapologetic, the items from the menu that brought us in was unavailable. Peach tea was watered down and warm, paid $12 for a cornbread appetizer that was served on a wooden cheese board with the strawberry butter smeared on the pourous wooden board… do they not have soufflé cups for the butter? and 1 warm peach tea. An absolute never again, and will absolutely will not be bringing my friends or family from out of town or in town to this establishment
The was excellent and fresh just wish the waitstaff hadn't rushed us to leave.
Overall my visit was good, however I wish there was an option to have catfish &waffles instead of chicken & waffles.
Friendly service, excellent food, nice ambiance
Server was excellent, food was delish, ambience was NY city-like. Wonderful restaurant. Will definitely be returning soon...
My third visit. Everyone and everything was great!
