Wonderful food and service. Really enjoy this place!
We thought the wait was a little too long, but we had excellent service and the food was excellent. We'll return. Be aware - they have no liquor license. It's BYOB
We ate out at the “outdoor patio” area on Schubert outside of Sapori. The food was excellent and the server our quite funny and extremely personable.
We enjoyed the Aloo Masala appetizer, the tamarind chutney, and the lamb saag. The beef samosas are a game changer. Order those with the tikka masala sauce. You’ll thank me later.
Definitely looking forward to ordering or visiting them in person again soon!
Chose the patio/outdoor seating for a long overdue catch up/meal with one of my best friends. Service was outstanding, and the food was very good. Look forward to another meal at this restaurant.

They cook the food at the restaurant which is a block down the street and the food is served in takeout containers to keep it warm and easy for them to carry. The food took quite awhile.
But if you’re patient and live authentic Indian/Pakistani food then this is a great choice!!!!
As a long time Tandoor fan I was excited that they were able to set up outdoor seating on weekends. I booked a reso online. The outdoor seating is just north across the street. The staff is so friendly and nice. I can truly say every experience I’ve ever had here has been warm and absolutely delightful in every way. Highly recommend making a patio reso during these strange Covid times. I also deeply commend tandoor for not offering indoor seating. Safety first because they care. I love it. And I love this spot.
Absolutely fantastic neighborhood restaurant. The ambiance here, the folks running it, the food, they all add up to a perfect night out in Lakeview! Can’t wait to go back.
Amazing food, service, and ambiance
I have never had a bad meal at Tandoor Char House and neither have my friends. The food is always good, authentic and can be adjusted to your spice/heat level. We try to order new dishes each time we go there. The owners are so friendly and helpful. You have to try Grandma's hot and spicy chutney, it is so good!
Only one way to describe this place...outstanding. Best Indian and fusion Indian food we have ever had. The actual restaurant environment is not fancy (pretty basic, but no issue). However, the food and service were truly terrific. One important note that we did not know...this is a BYOB place. Highly recommended. 5 stars all around.

Excellent service! We actually had reservations at 5pm, but went at 4pm and they still accommodated our party of 6! Wanted to try the steaks, but they were out of rib eye, but their chaat fries and tamarind wings are delicious!
Tandoor Char House is our favorite Indian/Pakistani restaurant in Chicago. The food is always great, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I also love that it's BYOB. We've introduced several friends to this place, and they've all been impressed.
Some of my favorite dishes are: beef samosas, beef nihari, lamb karahi and gulab jamun.
I'd definitely recommend making reservations on weekends.

Our first time dining here and it will be the first of many. The owner took the time to walk us through different menu options and made recommendations that were all amazing. Some of our favorites = samosas, garlic naan, chicken biryani!!!

Food was very good but I especially have to commend the servers for being so friendly and accommodating to us and our large party including children. Can’t forget the nice background playlist they had going. Loved this place.

I'm not Indian or Pakistan; I'm also not a connoisseur of south Asian cuisine, however, everything was delicious. I don't know if the food is truly authentic but we were waited on by what seemed to be the chef. He was very passionate about their cooking; he explained everything that was in the dishes and made good recommendations. He said that a lot if those dishes were family recipes.
I'm going back and recommending it to friends.

Food was really nice. It’s very apparent that the owners/chefs care about the quality of their food and customers. Spice level is really manageable, with an option to order extra hot. I recommend the Tandoor Mixed Grill and Chicken Biryani!

We have been here off and on since its opening as we are regulars at Victory Gardens. The boys are much more attentive than their Dad who was very much the patriarch. Good vibes here. Great family restaurant, not often seen these days. Always cooperative and helpful.
Enjoyed hearing about the owner's great grandmother's recipes. I could sense the pride he took in his family values and sharing his favorite dishes. They were very good to eat as well. We will be back.
