Tannery Row Ale House
Had a good time needed more dancing room next time Gold Standard Band plays
We had a nice time at Tannery Row celebrating the 50th birthdays of two friends. Food and service were pretty good. The atmosphere was excellent - first watching football games, and then enjoying the band that came on at 9:00PM.
Waiting staff was phenomenal as we had over 25 people.
Great band Seth Michael
Servers were outstanding despite a full house. Food was barely adequate. Lukewarm grilled fish fingers. Barely seasoned. Slow to get. Followed that with an order of French fries, which I thought would at least be hard to mess up. Also arrived lukewarm. Venue and band were absolutely great. I would go again for the atmosphere but plan on eating beforehand. Parking was easy.
Went to enjoy dinner and comedy show. The comedy show was advertised as $20pp and we were charged $25pp. After arguing and showing advertisement the manager did refund us $5 per ticket. The comedy show was not well advertised and no one at the Tannery knew anything about the show. Poorly put together.
What a disappointment. Went with a group of friends for dinner and planned to stay for the "Prince" band which was supposed to start at 9pm. Waiter was completely overwhelmed - we wound up running back and forth to the bar for drinks because it was taking him over 20 minutes to get a round of drinks. Food was mediocre at best. We had been previously for the Johnny Cash band and food was very good - this time it was pretty bad. The band was supposed to start at 9pm - it did not start till 11 - would have been nice to post that on the website so we didn't come so early. It also would have been nice if they had put the sound on for the game - it was complete silence. Band started at 11, we listened to 4 songs - 3 of which none of us had ever heard of. The band was awful - we were so sorry we did not just get up and leave when we found out the band was not starting till 11.
Our waitress was very attentive but not overly. Great experience, watch the Georgia vs Tennessee game with family and friends. Good time.
Service was great; food a little bland
I was hoping for more to be honest and I may have been overlooking.
The food was great, but I had to ask for butter 4 times. By the time I got some, my mashed potatoes were cold.
We were told that they would not be serving food for at least the next 2 hours because the kitchen couldn’t handle it. We ordered two glasses of champagne and were told that the wedding party in the events space had ALL the champagne and no other was available for us. Luckily we went mainly for the band, which we enjoyed. Also, our server was fantastic. I’m sure he was embarrassed about having to 86 ALL FOOD as well as the drinks that we wanted! But he went out of his way to take care of us in every way he could. This place is horribly managed.
Loved the venue. And our server was so friendly and as attentive as possible based on how busy he was that night. However, they were struggling with food that night. I guess there were new cooks still learning the food that could not keep up with the rush. We were there for a show but also had not eaten dinner so were expecting to get dinner. We were told when we arrived that we could expect about an hour to hour and half wait to get food. Before we had a chance to order, we were told there was now a HOLD on orders and they would not be taking any new orders for about an hour. And then when they did take our order it would probably be another hour before we got our food. It was 845 and we were not prepared to wait 2 hours for food. So I went to the manager and explained that we were going to order pizza from outside and have it brought it since they could not provide us with food. She went back and checked with the kitchen and came back and told us we could order flatbread or pizza and should be able to get that within about 30 mins or so. I was quite disappointed because being the first time I was here I was interested in trying the BBQ, fish and chips or something like the Salmon BLT. Although I loved the venue, this did not leave a good first impression. I feel like the manager could have done more to make it up to us....giving us a free appetizer, coupon for a free app for the next time, comped a portion of our bill, etc... We were not impressed with the flatbread and of course did not get the option to try anything else. The only saving grace was the server who had a great personality and was very attentive and apologetic. They may have lost several potential new customers this weekend by not doing more to make up for a bad situation.
The air conditioning wasn't working and they had a wedding party and a class reunion. It took over 90 minutes to get our food and they limited the menu to only a handful of appetizers. The wait staff was overwhelmed. All of this points to a management problem. It wasn't the fault of the kitchen or the servers.
We've been there many times before and always enjoyed the food, drinks, bands. We are not quite sure what happened this time, but we were extremely disappointed. They had our reservation, but did not hold us a table. When we were finally seated, we waited over 10 minutes before any server approached our table. We ordered an appetizer and 2 drinks. After waiting over 45 minutes and not receiving either the drinks or appetizer we left. It's never been like that in the past. We'll give them another chance in the future, but were VERY DISAPPOINTED last Saturday night.
VERY slow service. About a full hour just to get appetizers. Was told Kitchen Mgr quit and they were struggling. When got time to order food was told kitchen Way too backed up and regular food on menu could Not be ordered except pizza. Pizza was only so-so, and took at least 30 minutes to get to table. Draft Beer drinks seemed small for price...sometimes came out in 12oz cup, other times in wine type glass or smaller plastic cup. Tried to order pitcher of beer and was told they were out of pitchers?? This was our 3rd and very Last visit to Tannery Row Ale House. Cool ambience but operations have a Lot of room for improvement
The beer pairing dinner was the best dining experience we have had since moving to Georgia a little over a year ago. Looking forward to the next event.
Met with some friends for my birthday dinner, our table was great and we enjoyed the food. Once the band started playing it was very loud, they were great but we wanted to talk and couldn’t hear anything. Other than that we had a great night!
Our first time there but will definitely return. Grains of Sand band was wonderful! Service and food was great.
Our food was a mixed bag from our family. The sliders and burned end meatloaf sandwich were great. The meatball sub and pizza were just average. The skillet cookie was burnt. They offer s new one but it takes 15 plus minutes to cook and we did not want to wait. They did take it off our tab. We will eat here again for certain foods.
The monthly beer dinners never disappoint.
Good food and a cool atmosphere
The Food was excellent. We shared the burnt end meatloaf and the grilled brisket/pimento sandwich. Our table was the biggest drawback since it was in the center of everything and we were constantly getting bumped but we would go back and sit somewhere else.
Company was good, band was ok.
Service was a bit slow. Our server was great, however you could tell she was overworked. She had too many tables. Consequently service was slow.
Great place to eat. Broad selection of awesome tasting food.
The band was too loud, even in the back room that's shielded from the full force of the sound. The sound board operator should adjust to the live nature if the venue and not just set every control on 11, especially with such a great band as was there this weekend.
Great dance hall, Gold Standard Band was amazing - and really good food for this type of venue!
I loved the crab bites so much that I would come just to get them. I was extremely disappointed to find out they have been taken off the menu. Please bring them back!
Still one of my go to places to eat in Buford. Love the food and atmosphere but hate all the noise from the bands. Anyway, sit inside and all is good.
Very good food, good service, friendly staff and really nice environment!
Food was plentiful and SO GOOD! We loved the atmosphere however I could not understand why for a Mother's Day brunch we were watching/listening to the Rolling Stones??? Maybe Michael Buble? or a Jazz or Symphony concert. Would make it a nicer atmosphere for Mother's day. thanks!
Excellent location. I really liked the setting in the old tannery. Service was a little slow. Food was very good, especially the brisket. Their house hot sauce is wonderful.
Nice place to watch some local bands, watch a football or soccer game. Food is good, but not consistent. Good selection of beers and cocktail list.
Our high top table was very wobbly. Each server should inspect their station before their shift to correct this, or management should do it weekly.
The food was hit or miss. The bacon with peanut dipping sauce was yummy, the fried pickles were good, but we did not like the mac & cheese bites. We shared a burnt end meatloaf. I didn't care for the tomato sauce on top, but the mashed potatoes and gravy were good. The drinks were good. I like the live band atmosphere. Neal, our service was very good.
Food was awesome ! However the whole time we were there 1960/70 hard rock electric guitar druggie type music was played. We had kids there and grandparents. Not the type of music to be blasted at an Easter brunch. Other than that we enjoyed our meal.
My food was cold and tasted like they refried it from earlier that day. I ordered something else and I was not satisfied with that either.
Very cool place - can be used as a large event space. Feels like an old industrial building/farmhouse. Large menu and great bear selection. Ample parking. Service was great.
