Tapas Revolution, founded by Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy brings you the true taste of Spain in Southgate, Bath. All tapas make use of the finest ingredients sourced directly from artisan producers in Spain and are served as when they're freshly prepared in the kitchen, the same way you'd expect them in the traditional tapas bars of Spain.

Get ready to tuck into tapas and Spain’s culture of sharing as a way of catching up with friends and going out. Their tapas dishes are all freshly prepared and served as soon as they're ready, just like the typical tapas bars in Spain. The menu changes regularly except for the classics such as the Spanish ham and béchamel croquetas, fresh chorizo cooked in Asturian cider, tortilla de patatas and the famous hot churros with chocolate for dipping.

    Scandalously overpriced for what was provided. Poor food. Miserable staff, no atmosphere. The emptiness of the place on a busy Christmas market day should of been a warning to us. 1st and last visit. A massive thumbs down

    Food arrived hot and tasty but the good news ends there. Waiting staff were plentiful and attentive but service took so long we almost missed our coach home. The heating wasn’t working so it was cold even with the blankets provided. The toilets needed to be cleaned and repaired. The place is looking shabby. We complained that the food came out after nearly an hour and not all at the same time (steak also arrived 10 mins before the sauces for dipping it in), so they took the service charge £21 off and a small discount.

    Very slow service. Waited 45 mins for starters but hadn’t arrived. When we asked where they were, told they would be another 30mins. Offered free drinks while we waited. When food did arrive it was okay but having eaten previously and enjoyed it, this wasn’t nearly as good.

    We were very disappointed with our recent visit to Tapas Revolution in Bath. We have visited this restaurant for the last eight years before going into enjoy the Christmas Market. The restaurant was extremely cold even though they had blow heaters in place by the restaurant. We were made to wait over an hour for our food wich was greasy and tasteless. Another 45 minutes before some bread arrived. There were clearly problems in the kitchen as the manager spent his entire time by the serving hatch. Every table around us from tables of 2 to larger tables of 8+ were having similar issues. Refunds, money off, service charges being removed and people walking out without receiving their orders were all witnessed. We shall not be returning next year.

    Would recommend everyone to avoid this place! We couldn’t eat any of our food and left without paying for it as did other tables. The service was also awful and it was cold inside. Avoid!!!!

    Terrible, I have had Tapas all over Spain and in many places in the UK and this was by far the worst. It was either deep fried or cold, the Patatas Bravas tasted of Soap, the chorizo was a joke it could have come out of a £1 packet from the supermarket. The prawns were cold and tasteless and the pork belly was dripping in oil. The restaurant was freezing had no atmosphere and the service was average at Best. If the owner is Spanish they should be ashamed to call this a Tapas restaurant.

    Restaurant was cold, needed coats! First 3 drinks we ordered they didn’t have (2 of which were soft drinks!) Party of 4, 3 meals came out no explanation where the 4th was, had to ask Peppercorn sauce with the steak was literally a bowl of peppercorns couldn’t see any sauce Risotto was stuck to the sides of the plates and tasteless Staff didn’t even question when we asked for peppercorn sauce and service charge to be removed from the bill Staff were polite and friendly though

    Shame but I think it’s actually in decline been going for years and years most often drop in on a shopping trip mostly summers and sit outside, food always a good standard and well presented and staff did their best. Recommended it to our group due to them fancying Tapas and the fact they had varied Spanish imported Beers to chose from. No stock of chosen bottled beers Alhambra especial ,Roja or limited availability on others and same for menu, (Brexit in brackets) Worse even was Expected to be warm and comfortable but it was as cold in the restaurant as outside.

    Our first round of drinks come out and they didn't know which gin was which so they had to go back. They gave us the wrong tonic to then be told the one we had ordered was out of stock, but we were told this upon ordering. Eventually our gins came back but they still served one wrong gin. They forgot our olives despite asking for them three times and they eventually brought them out towards the end of the meal. The croquettes came out and they were still frozen. The patatas bravas are saturated in sauce, you can't see the potatoes! We seen someone have the sauces separately and that's definitely a good idea. The red sauce is spicier than your typical bravas sauce. The staff didn't apologise about the croquettes just offered to recook them. When we looked over the bill they'd try to charge us for double gins, but we'd only ever ordered singles. They had taken the croquettes off. I've eaten here before and had a different experience which is why we chose here but none of us were overly happy with our experience.

    I have never complained so this is a first for me. The experience was so disappointing on all levels. We asked if 4 small plates would be enough for the 2 of us and were advised that 3 was probably sufficient. We did opt to go for 4. Anticipated that these would overlap or at least come fast one after the other. This didn’t happen, with long gaps between each dish so much so that 3 waitresses tried to remove a half finished salad from our table on a regular basis. We ordered an extra dish to fill in the gap which made the wait less daunting, but when our last dish eventually arrived, without tomato sauce and we advised that we hadn’t stipulated that, it was taken away. We waited for the replacement but none came so we asked for the bill with it removed. Our booking was for 5pm and it took one and a half hours for 3 small plates and one side of patatas bravas. No sparkling water delivered either. We were offered no apology even though we paid the 12.5% service charge (only because I am undergoing chemotherapy and feel that I don’t want confrontation). The staff weren’t able to advise appropriately, were lacklustre, nobody spoke to us about our last dish although it was obviously discussed at the kitchen counter. Gaps between the platters were far too long. Quite the worst dining experience I have ever had.

    We were originally booked for a bottomless brunch which was listed as £25 pp on the website. I recieved a phonecall saying that it was actually over £10 more pp, and that they don't even do a tapas brunch menu anymore. We changed the booking to a normal table, and when we turned up we were surprised to see that they don't do the tapas deal of 3 for £15 (or whatever it used to be) anymore. The cost of just one tapas alone was around £9! Therefore, we decided to not eat there as it's far too expensive. Rather disappointed as I went before and the deal was good value and food was nice. Bring back the deal.

    Really disappointing experience. Visited on a Saturday lunchtime for a pre-booked birthday meal, restaurant was quiet considering the time and location but they somehow still took over 30 minutes to serve drinks (incorrect bottle arrived when drinks were finally served) it took around 90 minutes to serve food and when they did serve food they got most things wrong. E.g. there are two paellas on the menu, they made the wrong one by accident and because we had waited so long we just accepted it. Then they didn’t have one of the dishes ordered but the kitchen didn’t pass on that message - they just didn’t send it out until we chased (leaving one of the party - the birthday girl - without their meal). The replacement meal then came embarrassingly late and was again not what was ordered. Food itself was disappointing across the board when it did arrive. They also didn’t take the deposit off the bill until we chased them.

    This was my second visit to Tapas revolution. The first visit did not go so well, and this was a visit instigated by Matt to make up for the earlier misunderstanding. My 91-year-old mother was with us and really enjoyed having a small Tapas dish because she has a very small appetite. My husband and I enjoyed a variety of other dishes, and all the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere in the place is lovely and the decoration first class. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can't speak highly enough of the professionalism of Matt who looked after us while we were there, along with the waiting staff. If you're looking for something a bit different, utterly delicious, in a an extremely inviting, stylish and comfortable venue, then Tapas revolution in Bath is the place for you!

    What a TERRIBLE waste of time and money, and we had to go somewhere else to eat a palatable dinner! DO NOT EAT HERE! We attempted to eat here on the 28th of October as we waited to long to make reservations anywhere else and they were open. We found out why the place was nearly empty and I hope you do not make the same mistake. Not a manager to be found and our server, Ellie, listened to our complaints but didn't really seem to care that the food was so awful (perhaps she is used to hearing it?). Where to start? The mussels were rancid and spoiled, and I'm sure someone will be ill if they do not fix their process. The mushrooms were inedible (at least they were removed from the bill when we sent them back). The Sorel gin and tonic was a large cup of ice which supposedly contained some gin, with an upside down bottle of tonic water stuffed inside. YIKES! The Berenjenas Fritas were soaking with grease and not a hint of eggplant flavor to be found. The olives were the only decent item, but one cannot sustain oneself on only olives. I can't believe this place is in business and this was the worst experience of our entire trip. Shame on the owners of this terrible establishment.

    We have visited Bath Tapas Revolution several times before and had a wonderful experience but on this occasion, for my husbands birthday, it was totally unsatisfactory. The restaurant was cold, there was a loud air conditioning type noise that drowned out the music (we had Spanish music before but this time cheesy old pop hits) and the tapas came out 1 fish at a time with around 10 minutes between each. By our penultimate dish our bread selection still hadn’t arrived so we had to cancel it! When we questioned the male waiter as to why the dishes came out one at a time with 10 minutes in between he replied “because that’s how tapas works!”. W have had tapas many time a before and it wasn’t how it works! I noted on the booking form that it was a birthday meal but not sure why as there was no mention of a happy birthday.

    The paella was delicious but the aubergine tasted not so good. I feel the restaurant is a bit too bright. The service was basic…. Okay but not great. No enthusiasm from the staff, just getting a job done. One of the tapas dishes came after our main meal (the paella). It would have been nice to come before. I don’t really think it would be my first choice when eating out in Bath.

    Very poor service. Took very long to even be offered a drink. Multiple tables being given wrong food. When food did arrive several dishes totally unseasoned. Manager apologised for service and blamed on business but most of waiting staff hugely inefficient in hovering around the til and not being attentive at all. Particularly disappointing as have been before on busy match day when food and service was great.

    Really disappointed as we invited friends to join us here. Went in May this year and it was fab, 6 months later....dire. Staff didn't know what they were doing. Such a shame, this place could be amazing with an efficient manager and trained staff.

    Awful service, food took an hour and a half to come out. Half of it was missing, staff wouldn’t come and communicate with us. We were eventually given a discount after complaining multiple times. However they did not take the money we had already paid as a deposit off. Would not recommend

    Changed the time of our table without asking us ahead of the booking. When we arrived for the time they had booked, we were told the majority of the menu items were unavailable. We therefore were turned away at the door and found somewhere else

    The food was way too salty both for starters and entrees. We ordered the saltiest paella ever and told the waitress. They brought “another one” out which tasted exactly the same. We couldn’t eat it, all we could taste was the salt.

    Staff were not interested and unhelpful. Lots of items were unavailable which we were only told of after we had ordered. There was no draught beer and was given a different drink to the one ordered with a flippant 'we don't have the other one'. Such a shame as we have been many times before and the food and service have been great. Had a friend go a few days before us and said she had a very similar experience to us.

    Went here when it first opened in Bath and loved it. Not this time!!! Menu wasn’t as interesting as before, little choice and it seemed to be only the basic tapas now being offered. When the food came the Ensalada de Tomates had no red onion or goats cheese, when we questioned it the server just walked away. We did find a taste of goats cheese when we got to the bottom of the dish though! Most of the other tapas was over cooked and a bit dry which meant we needed to order more drinks, however after asking not once but 4 times are our drinks coming, we had had enough by this time so cancelled the drinks and asked for the bill. They then came over with the 2 bottles of beer and said as the bottles had been opened and we had waited so long did we want them on the house, of course we said yes. 2 minutes later we were presented with the bill and yes, you’ve guessed it, the beers were on the bill! Won’t be hurrying back any time soon sadly!

    We had an awful experience here. We were a group of 12. Apparently two members of staff had phoned in sick so there were 2-3 floor staff and the "manager" who went between the bar and the kitchen. Consequently service was extremely slow. Very slow to take our order, took about 20mins and constant requests to get enough wine glasses and the glasses were quite dirty. Water carafe had dirt floating in it. Food orders started coming out ... very disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food. Some items were OK (example chorizo and patatas bravas) but others not at all (e.g. prawns, beetroot, squid). Also, my mother is coeliac - I had phoned weeks in advance to be sure they catered for coeliacs and told they did. However her order was never brought to the table and also a member of staff confided that they wouldn't be confident in food being safely gluten free. We waited a long time of wine and when ordered a second white were told they had no more left... they did give us the alternative at the same price as our first. I will say that the two main staff members were so patient and polite and understanding of our disappointment but I think they should maybe have cancelled one or more of their bookings when lacking in staff? There were two hen party groups in at the same time as us. The manager didn't come out to talk to us.. I had to go up to the kitchen counter to speak to him. Very disappointed but I wish the staff members well.

    On a Saturday night, they had no draught beer, and only one type of bottled beer, which was not to my taste. They were severely under staffed and had accepted huge throngs of hens, so we were ignored and had to go up to the counter to be seen. food was OK, bit cold. not somewhere i would return to. in my opinion they should have stayed closed with the lack of staff and drink. PS 3.50 for the smallest bottle of diet coke i have ever seen, no value..

    Great location for pre-theatre dining close to Forum theatre. Open all day for food. Friendly prompt and efficient service. Overall an excellent experience for a chain restaurant. We would dine here again and will try other Tapas revolution locations in the future.

    At first we phoned to make a booking only to be told by the automatic service that there were no available time slots. Thinking that was odd we made an online booking with success. Arriving at the restaurant to find it almost empty. Armed with our Tastecard (if you don't have one then you should) it was our first visit to this restaurant. Excellent service and food.

    I have a taste card and visited this restaurant with my 91 year old mother. We were told that we could choose from the tapas small plates menu by the young man who seated us. We chose two dishes and then were then told by a lady waitress we had to choose five to take advantage of the Taste Card! We left. Niether my mother or myself have big appetites and could not possibly have eaten any more thna a dish each. We were told to look at the T's and C's on Tastecard and I did later but there is no mention of a 5 plate minimum order there! I phoned the restaurant back and the waitress who had been the one who told us we had to order five dishes said that she would get the manager to call us back about this. Three days later, no one has called us.

    The food is delicious and main restaurant is nice inside although parts are in disrepair, the flush in the toilet that I went into was cracked and unusable. The staff were terrible we had to wait 25 minutes to order, I had to go up and ask the girl on the till to take our order but she still took another ten minutes to come over to us. She was then flippant and didn’t take a drinks order until I mentioned it. Our drinks arrived after our food. There were two other boys serving who were chatting and drinking and ignoring the customers. I used to be a regular here but won’t return. ☹️

    The plates set up on the table were dirty with some food smudges so we had to ask them to replace them. Food was not great at all, there was no balance of spices or condiments. The parsley on the mushrooms was way too overpowering so the taste was not great. The meatballs were quite bland to be honest. The marinated pork belly had some overpowering condiment on (cumin?) and it was all you could taste so was not able to eat it. We ordered the croquettes but they never came as the waitress forgot to add them to the order. So we paid the bill and left. Overall it was not a pleasant meal. We had tapas before in lots of other places and this was by far the worse meal

    Nice welcome. Only when ordering we were told several of items we chose ordered not available with poor excuse. Tapas arrived in odd order. Food average. Daughters birthday noted when booking - nothing said or done. Why bother asking. When I asked for bill took 15 minutes. I asked again and manager laughed when I asked where had the server disappeared to. Added 12.5% service. I paid it but didn’t want to. Won’t go again better tapas restaurants in Bath.
