We will NEVER return to this restaurant. Took 45 min to get our water and only because we got up from the table to ask someone for the drinks that never came. Another party that arrived long after us ate and left before we got our food. TWO hours after we got there we still hadn’t been served the main portion of our order so we paid for the appetizers they brought us an hour in and left. They kept telling us “it’s coming” every single time we asked—and we had to run after them multiple times to ask! In the meantime tons of delivery people picked up orders one after the other. Perhaps they should tend to in person diners before prioritizing take out orders. WORST dining experience ever.

It had been years since we last dined at Taste of Himalayas in Berkeley, and we were happy to find that some of our favorite dishes were just as delicious as we remembered. The chicken vindaloo and shrimp vindaloo were both excellent, served warm and flavorful with the right balance of protein and potatoes in the rich vindaloo sauce. The plain naan and garlic naan were also a great addition, pairing well with our meals. The only downside was the lentil soup, which tasted a bit watered down and was prepared a bit differently from what we remembered from years ago. That said, overall the experience was still very enjoyable, and we would recommend Taste of Himalayas in Berkeley to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet.

We came very late (practically at closing time), but the host did not flinch and served us a full meal with no pressure. We were 5 people and we ordered a variety of dishes. Everything was delicious and among us, we said we should get back to this place often!

outstanding food and attentive, friendly, service. It was Halloween weekend with few other diners so it lacked energy. I can't understand why more people aren't eating here. My favorite Indian restaurant.

A somewhat ordinary Indian restaurant with a few Nepalese dishes. Order your curries with a bit of spice. "Mild" is too bland. We enjoyed the lentil soup. The salmon filets in curry were nothing to write home about. The tandoori dishes at the next table came out sizzling and looked appetizing. The onion naan was good. A side of mango chutney was sufficient but not ample. The lovely mural on the wall and the carved wooden chairs added to the ambiance. Service was adequate. Maybe next time.
