Taverna Khione

The food was amazing! We had the Braised Lamb and the Monkfish and both were perfectly cooked and so flavorful. If you haven't been here you need to go! The wine selection was amazing as well.

Taverna Khione is a cozy authentic greek restaurant serving an array of delicious dishes bursting with flavor. The staff is knowledgeable about the food and wine and the restaurant has organized its small dining room to keep all guests at a safe distance. Enjoy!

Our second visit; first was pre-covid without reservations. Made reservations this time and our table was waiting for us upon arrival and for the next 95 mins we relaxed and enjoyed decadent yet simple nutritious food spaced apart from other diners for covid safety.

Best things about this place are authentic food and slow pace. It’s ridiculous and incompatible to “enjoy a fast meal”. They prepare your food to order and while you wait you enjoy your wine and appetizers. Perfect pace. Go hungry and eat a lot! Try the Retsina wine (pine flavor and fantastic!)

The lamb chops and scallops were divine, perfectly and prepared attractively presented. A gem of a restaurant with an outstanding (and unique for Maine) selection of Greek wines.

Food was superb! Lovely lentil soup, lamb chops perfectly cooked with wonderful flavor. Dessert to die for. Hostess helped me pick a perfect wine, too.

Music is soft and unobtrusive. Decor is simple, but relaxed and welcoming. Reminded me of similar places in Greece.

Not an inexpensive meal, but well worth it, and I will definitely be back to try the duck breast!

Our first visit was very enjoyable. Simple, relaxed setting with a nice vibe. Waitress was very helpful. Never felt rushed. We had appetizers and shared some small plates. Everything was quite tasty. Plan to return in the near future.

This was such a delightful experience. Truly fabulous food, authentic, well prepared and interesting. If this restaurant were in my home town (Philadelphia) reservations would be impossible to get.
It's also a very greek and very good wine list. We tried a few things and they were all excellent and a good value.

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, great service. We loved the small plate options to share and the wine list had may Greek wines to choose from. The Baklava was the best I have ever had. A must visit while in Brunswick Maine. We will be back.

Taverna Khione is really outstanding and authentic Greek food. We love to go there. Service is always attentive. It's an intimate setting and great for conversations. Highly recommended.

In my opinion this is the finest dining in Brunswick. The food is varied, perfectly prepared and presented, authentic, right size portions. The wait staff is personable, knowledgeable and available but not intrusive. I couldn't ask for a nicer evening out.

Taverna Khione : This small restaurant makes big promises and keeps them. I dare you to find another greek restaurant in New England as authentic & delicious.
We have eaten here 5 times now and have always had excellent food & service.
Recently, my dining partner & I both had the lamb chops (( which were locally sourced )) and my admiration for TK was confirmed by my friend who was visiting for the first time.
I love that the kitchen is run solely by the owner-chef which gives him full control of what is served. While the menu may only have a few items listed each nite, there is something for everyone.

We have always had excellent service and the authentic dishes are simply delish! Save room for dessert ... IF you can!

Small place th as t isn't fancy. The food is authentically Greek, the service quick and friendly and delicious. We were there on a Sunday, when they only offer a fixed price 3 course menu, but that was perfect.

Seating area was quite chilly. Servicer was nice, but it took too much time to get our courses. Wine by the glass was deceiving. The price was for a "half pour" rather than a full glass. Easy to miss that and the wine by the glass became too pricey!

We used to frequent this Taverna when it was located in VT. We were happy to return, it's worth the drive to Maine. We started with the spreads and bread & the horta (sautéed greens.) My spouse had lamb chops, which were delicious, and I had the moussaka, a favorite.

Welcomed when we entered. Very attentive service. Nice selection at each course. Had the fava appetizer, braised greens, and lamb chops with zucchini and lemon potatoes. Everything was prepared well and plentiful portions. A nice red Greek wine and black sambuca after dinner--rarely find it on the menu.
